High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2169: Chapter 390: Submission

A drop of water can disappear without a trace when it falls into the lake; a stone thrown into the desert is hard to find; a person can vanish within a crowd.

Right now, Zheng Qing is that drop of water and that stone.

He couldn’t find a large enough desert or lake to conceal his existence, but finding a more attention-catching stone or drop of water to divert everyone’s focus was still achievable.

And the ’Please Give Me a Frog’ movement was the stone he chose.

Coincidentally, during the meeting of the Seven Sins two days ago, Mr. Arrogance mentioned that they should promote the ’Frog’ movement and promised a very generous reward.

Inadvertently, inspiration struck amidst the collision.

Thus, Zheng Qing posed the question above.

Sure enough, after he asked, many students in the classroom slowly shifted their attention away from the little fox girl in the front row, turning towards Nicholas, Liu Fei Fei, and Professor Yao at the lectern. Relatively speaking, more eyes were on the professor because ever since this movement began brewing, the school hadn’t issued any official stance.

And the attitude of the Dean of Jiuyou Academy, in a certain sense, or in the eyes of many third-party observers, was almost equivalent to the official stance.

”Please give me a frog?”

Professor Yao repeated the term, eyebrows raised as if they weren’t coming down: ”This is quite a big problem... I know there’s been a bit of noise lately at the school, since you’ve brought it up, I’ll talk briefly here.”

Zheng Qing noticed Nicholas suddenly sitting up straight, looking quite expectant.

On the lectern, the professor removed the pipe from his mouth, pondered for a long time, and then slowly spoke again: ”I know, there is a lot of talk inside and outside the school now saying that, since Jiuyou Academy’s philosophy is ’justice and equality,’ then why not give the Northern District Wizards fair treatment, give them the right to equal access to education? Many students sympathize with the plight of the Northern District Wizards and support their call for ’equal education rights,’ which I understand and support.”

A low chorus of agreement immediately arose in the classroom.

Especially Nicholas, who appeared exceptionally excited.

”But I want to emphasize,” the professor slightly increased his tone and speed: ”Equality does not mean ’privilege!’ If we look at the issue from a more fundamental perspective — does the school have the resources to support all age-appropriate students in the Alliance for admission? Can we compromise the rights of other students to compensate the Northern District Wizards? You must understand, every student present, including Nicholas, has passed the entrance examination for higher education held by the school and was admitted by the First University upon qualifying, even if there were some exceptional enrollments...”

He nodded to Xiao Xiao, Doctor Xiao silently adjusted his glasses, glanced at the uniformly turning faces of the students looking at him — the expression they had turning towards him was the same as when they turned away.

No one understands the ruthlessness of the doctor better than those present.

”Hmm, you probably have no objections to this one.”

The professor laughed, slightly shifting his tone, and nodded slightly to the Gypsy witch sitting on the other side: ”Or say, even if there are occasional exchange students... this nature of exchange learning is not our main recruitment approach. If the Northern District Wizards want to introduce a few young Wizards with a certain foundation through specialized training at our Academy, I support this. But if Miss Kolmar wants to widely integrate the education of the First University among the Northern District Wizards, I think it is unrealistic.”

Whispering erupted in every corner of the classroom.

There were those who agreed with the professor’s perspective.

Naturally, there were also oppositions.

”But professor,” Nicholas bravely raised his hand, received permission, and stood up, his face slightly flushed: ”The Northern District Wizards have historically suffered so much injustice, shouldn’t they be compensated with some policy?”

”This involves another issue related to ’justice.’

The professor tapped the desk lightly with the pipe in his hand: ”Was the injustice suffered by the Northern District Wizards caused by Jiuyou Academy? Since not, then why, when seeking compensation, should Jiuyou Academy bear this burden? Shouldn’t other academies, the Alliance, and even the entire wizard world do something about it?”

”... Of course, I’m not criticizing this ’equal rights movement’ here, nor am I dissatisfied with the Northern District Wizards or Nicholas... On the contrary, I highly commend such a movement that aligns with the ideals of Jiuyou Academy. The only issue that needs attention is maintaining ’moderation’ and ’true justice’ in advancing this movement, and not merely because the ideology resonates, because Jiuyou Academy seems more suitable, to unleash pressure entirely on Jiuyou Academy...”

...

...

After a brief review of the ’Frog’ movement, tonight’s class meeting came to an end.

Old Yao ignored the succession of questions from other classmates and hastily left, leaving the classroom immersed in a fervor of discussions around ’supporting the frog’ and ’resisting the frog.’

This was precisely what the young cost student hoped for.

Taking advantage of the lack of attention, he quietly slipped to the front row of the classroom, grabbed the little fox girl’s collar, and dragged her out, all the way to the unoccupied end of the corridor.

”Speak, what do you want?” He finally let out a gentle sigh.

After a moment of struggle, the little fox girl regained her freedom, clawing as if she wanted to tussle with the warlock, but glancing at the dim surroundings and the difference in their builds, she ultimately swallowed her anger.

”This is too rude! I will report your vulgar behavior to the lady as it is!” Su Ya’s two furry ears angrily popped from her hair, with the fur behind the ear flaring out, enlarging by a whole circle, which made Zheng Qing want to pinch them.

But for the sake of reputation, he restrained his impulse.

”Rude?”

The warlock’s face showed a subtle expression: ”If pulling you out of the classroom was rude, then what do you call barging into Old Yao’s class?”

Su Ya opened her mouth, seemingly wanting to rebuttal, but finally just puckered her lips and mumbled the reason: ”Next Tuesday is the Lower Yuan Festival, the lady said she wants to attend the school’s fasting and prayer ceremony. Poseidon staying alone in Greenhill Mansion is unsafe, so she asks it to stay with you for a day... remember, only one day!”

With that, she stuffed a blue envelope into the warlock’s arms and without caring if Zheng Qing had any questions, flicked her fox tail behind her, and suddenly disappeared.

Zheng Qing weighed the envelope without immediately opening it but instead took out an invisibility talisman from the grey cloth bag, hanging it on himself, and returned to the dormitory alone.

There was another important task before opening the letter.

He intended to quickly pour out those fresh comments from Old Yao about the Northern District Wizards onto parchment, organize a summary, and submit it to the Beta Town Post.

Of course, anonymity was essential.
