Chapter 2170: Chapter 391: A Clear Conscience Fears No Accusation in Broad Daylight

Monday, November 30.

Evening.

The sky was dark, the howling cold wind swirling dry leaves past the window, hitting the window frame with crackling sounds. Even though thick walls separated him from it, Zheng Qing still felt the penetrating chill.

At this moment, he was standing in Old Yao’s office.

The usually smiling Dean of Jiuyou Academy was sitting behind his large desk, his face gloomy, slowly flipping through a copy of the Beta Town Post in his hands. Other than the sound of flipping the newspaper, there was no other sound in the entire room. The young cost student nervously felt as if he could clearly hear his own heartbeat.

After a long while, the professor finally slammed down the newspaper in his hand in anger.

Bang!

”What does it mean, ’I accuse other colleges of the First University and relevant departments of the Alliance of being irresponsible’? What does it mean, ’The dean of Jiuyou Academy claims that Northern District wizards are a burden to the Alliance’?”

He slapped the desk vigorously, heartbroken and sorrowful: ”How can you take things out of context and write such things? Wasn’t I answering your questions?”

Zheng Qing shrank into a ball, frantically cursing the editorial team of the Beta Town Post in his heart, while weakly arguing: ”I didn’t write it, I just repeated what you said...”

Crash!

The thick mahogany desk in front of the professor shattered with a heavy blow, turning into a pile of wood chips on the ground. The young cost student protected his head, retreated a few steps in panic.

”Sophistry!!!”

Three distinctly different voices exploded simultaneously in Zheng Qing’s ears, like thunder.

Behind the flying woodchips, the figure that was sitting in the chair slowly spread out, like a drop of intense ink falling into clear water, not only not diluted by it but instead staining the entire bowl of water pitch black.

Three breaths of varying intensities swirled in this small room, huffing and puffing. Zheng Qing put down his arm blocking his eyes and was horrified to find the professor in front of him had somehow transformed into a three-headed, eight-armed giant ape, glaring at him with a ferocious face.

This was the professor’s true form!

He had seen it on the Black Prison battlefield!

But, was it necessary?!

Wasn’t it just the Beta Town Post with some twisted reporting?

The boy mocked in his heart while stumbling backwards until he leaned against the thick wooden door of the office, waving his hands repeatedly: ”Professor, let me explain...”

”Traitor!”

”Abomination!”

”Tired... let’s destroy it!”

The three faces, some indifferent, some wrathful, some merciful, sounded like thunder behind heavy clouds, making the entire room tremble. At the same time, eight huge hands slammed towards the door from all directions. Zheng Qing watched as those hands grew larger in his sight, engulfing everything.

Thud!

The black cat fell headfirst from the throne of the Cat Fruit Tree onto the soft grass, dizzy and unable to get up for some time.

It shook its head vigorously, and fearfully raised its paw.

Thank goodness, thank goodness, it hadn’t turned into minced meat.

The cool moonlight and the chilly night wind combined to quickly wake the black cat up—wait, was that just a nightmare?

It looked up at the moonlight and calculated the time in its heart. Correct, tonight was still the evening of November 30th, it hadn’t been dragged to the office by Old Yao, and the report by Beta Town Post wasn’t that exaggerated.

In other words, it hadn’t been smacked into minced meat by Old Yao’s eight palms!

Upon realizing this, the fur that had stood on end relaxed and the wildly beating heart began to calm down a little.

”Not likely... should not be.” The black cat murmured, preparing to climb back up the Cat Fruit Tree with weakened legs, when it heard a familiar rustling from the bushes far away.

Moments later, Su Ya appeared before the black cat, holding Poseidon.

More and more memories returned to its mind; the black cat remembered that due to tomorrow being the Bottom Festival, Su Shijun wanted it to take care of Poseidon for a day, and now was the time for her to pick Poseidon up to return to the dorms.

However, with Su Ya being assigned such an important duty, wasn’t it risky that the two might be snatched away by a passing Black Wizard?

The black cat critiqued inwardly while slightly enlarging its form.

”What is that in your hand?”

The black cat let Poseidon slide from its head to its back, curiously inspecting the scroll of parchment in the little fox girl’s hand, striving to keep its tone gentle—after the nightmare just now, it felt the world was so beautiful, and that everyone should show more kindness.

”A daily checklist!”

Su Ya opened the scroll of parchment with a stern face, carefully instructing: ”Let me remind you, Dong Dong cannot eat spicy, hot, pungent, fishy, or other heavily flavored foods, it’s bad for her fur and breath. You should prepare her meals according to the menu on the checklist and give her more fruits and vegetables, like broccoli, apples, cherry tomatoes... She’s already weaned, give her dew to drink... and homework, the miss said...”

The black cat tilted its head, looked at the little fox hanging on its back.

Poseidon gazed at it eagerly.

Poor thing.

”Mm-hmm, got it, got it.” The black cat responded evasively, while signaling the little fox on its back, pondering whether to eat the steak and stew chicken prepared by the 403 roommates for Poseidon: ”Only fruits and vegetables? Poseidon is not a herbivore... she has her own needs, if she wants to eat meat, what then? Jiang Yu... who is our monitor, has represented the class to buy her many snacks, supposedly fox-favored...”

”Whom do you think knows foxes better, us or you?” Su Ya raised her chin high, full of contempt: ”Also, what’s your relationship with that Jiang Yu? Why is she helping buy food?”

”She... she’s our class monitor.”

”I kindly remind you, keep in mind you are still the son-in-law of Greenhill Mansion... don’t casually establish vague relationships with other girls!” The little fox lady was aggressive.

”What do you mean vague! How is it casual?!” An angry voice abruptly erupted beside the two, ”Zheng Zha, clarify this to me!”

Li Meng brushed aside the bushes, jumping out while hugging a plush bear.

The black cat met the glittering eyes of the plush bear, its eyelid twitched slightly, instinctively retaliating: ”What’s your trouble, did you finish your homework today?”

Li Meng rolled her eyes grandly at him: ”Cousin gave me a day off, specifically to monitor you, you unprincipled guy! So you don’t sneak around again.”

The black cat’s scalp tingled, feeling the soft fur that was laid down just moments ago stand back up in alarm: ”Don’t talk nonsense... what, what... do you know what sneaking around means?”

”You know?”

”Explain it?”

The two little witches spoke simultaneously, turned their heads to look at the black cat, their voices strangely mature. Upon closer inspection, there were no two little witches before him but rather Su Shi Jun’s face had become Su Shijun’s, and Li Meng’s face had become Jiang Yu’s, both eyes fixated on him, expressionless.

Ow!

The black cat cried out, explosively spreading into a star shape on the spot.

Dormitory.

Zheng Qing shouted once, thudding to the ground from his six-pillar bed.
