High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1975: Chapter 196: Small and Large

”Clearly, he interrupted first.”

At this moment, Li Meng felt exceptionally wronged.

Zheng Qing watched as this little miss already had tears brimming in her eyes and was very worried she’d faint from the shock—this had happened many times before—so he very obediently took a step back, raising his hands slightly.

”My fault, my fault.” He smiled apologetically.

”It’s your fault!”

The mist in Li Meng’s eyes disappeared in a blink, her momentum reclaimed, she complained indignantly: ”You’re supposed to run your Array, what are you doing here?!... And I’m reciting my text, why interrupt!”

”It’s half an hour to ten.”

Zheng Qing ceased to tangle with the Little Witch, turned to Jiang Yu, and flashed his pocket watch in front of the Witch’s eyes: ”I came to check if we should send them back first... We probably need to train for another one or two hours here.”

Jiang Yu nodded slightly: ”Hmm, it is indeed a bit late.”

Poseidon wriggled vigorously in Zheng Qing’s arms, displeased at being sent back so early. Similarly, Su Ya showed a very regretful expression.

She hadn’t had enough fun yet.

”I will contact Su Man, the head housemaid, to ensure you really go back to the mansion obediently.” Zheng Qing flicked the Little Fox’s forehead, warningly glancing at Su Ya.

The pair of fluffy ears in the little fox lady’s hair drooped weakly, resembling her current voice: ”I... know... already...”

”You too,” on the other side, Jiang Yu also reminded Li Meng: ”After you go back, wash up and sleep, I’ll have Li Neng keep an eye on you... Don’t think about sewing its mouth shut!”

Li Neng was Li Meng’s plush bear, which often served as the Little Witch’s outlet as per Zheng Qing’s impressions, so the Warlock doubted how much monitoring the bear could actually perform.

Zhu Si looked left and right, his eyes showing a hint of very subtle envy.

The next second, the deep red gemstone on the Little Witch’s forehead flashed, profound magic power surged in the night, several young Wizards raised their arms intuitively, shielding their eyes.

With the light dispersed, a beautiful Great Witch with an alluring figure stood where a little witch of eleven or twelve used to stand. Her face held both the innocence of a girl and the grace of a mature woman, grand with a subtle charm, drawing looks from others.

This time, not only did the Hunters resting afar look over, but even the magic circle guarding the entire school trembled slightly, casting a fleeting glance with subtle attention.

Of course, that look vanished instantly, not lingering.

Zheng Qing wasn’t looking at Zhu Si’s transformation for the first time, quickly regained composure, and exclaimed: ”Awesome... I was just wondering who could send them back!”

The adult Zhu Si lazily glanced at the young cost student.

”Disturbing sleep at night, there’s nothing worse than this.” She looked like she just woke up, her voice contained a hint of drowsiness and a bit of trouble: ”Don’t you know lack of sleep ages you quickly? Can’t you just let her play happily? Why cause her to retreat into herself...”

The ’her’ in her words presumably referred to the lesser Zhu Si.

Zheng Qing realized this and felt puzzled by the term ’retreat into herself’: ”What do you mean? Zhu Si... no, I mean, what’s this retreating into herself about?”

The Great Zhu Si didn’t immediately answer, first waved her sleeve, wrapping an arm around Li Meng and Su Ya, raised her chin, and the Little Fox in Zheng Qing’s arms obediently leaped, landing on her shoulder, her fluffy tail curling around the Witch’s neck like a luxurious fur scarf.

Chirp!

Poseidon reluctantly bid farewell to the Warlock.

”Follow closely, I won’t carry you.” The Great Zhu Si called out to Lin Guo, who stood shyly beside, whereupon a visible blush spread across the Little Warlock’s face.

Zheng Qing paid no mind to the Little Fox’s ’betrayal,’ nor did he notice the Little Warlock’s shyness, still pondering over what ’retreating into herself’ meant.

Then the Great Zhu Si looked at the young cost student, half-comforting him: ”Don’t think about it, it has nothing to do with you, that little girl just loves to nitpick... it’s a good time for me to come out now, perfect to go back and write lesson plans.”

As she said this, her face suddenly exhibited some irritation: ”... those old fraudsters in school kept telling me that lecturing elective courses is easy... if it’s easy, why don’t they do the lesson planning!... Leaving now! Not seeing you off!”

Before her voice fell, a swirl of bright red engulfed the Great Zhu Si with the three Little Wizards and a fox, vanished from Zheng Qing’s sight in a blink.

Only then did Xin Fat Man and the other hunters rush over, panting.

”Zhu Si?”

The Fat Wizard, clutching an open notebook and gripping several scattered feathers, ran as his face turned blue: ”Was that Zhu Si? Why didn’t you hold her up a bit! I’ve wanted to interview her for ages!”

”You didn’t mention it when she first arrived.” Zheng Qing said, a bit speechless while looking at the Fat Man.

”I wasn’t talking about that little girl.” Xin Fat Man regretfully closed the notebook and feather pen, adamantly saying: ”A lecturer at the First University and an underage Little Witch are entirely different concepts.”

”Indeed, you should have kept her around a bit more.” Dylan expressed a trace of residual yearning, licking his lips: ”I’ve never seen such... it feels like a cocktail with sharp contrasts.”

Zheng Qing suspiciously eyed Mister Blood Werewolf, feeling he might be coveting the blood from the different forms of Little Zhu Si and Great Zhu Si. He wanted to advise Dylan to think it over, Rat Immortal isn’t one to mess with, but before he framed a clear statement, the Fat Wizard was already yelling.

”Now that you mention it, the school has strict limitations on using ’Escape Technique’!” He rubbed his chin, pondering: ”It seemed Zhu Si used it effortlessly...”

”If you had a father of Legendary Rank, the school would grant you such privileges too.” The young cost student finally seized the chance to reply to the Fat Wizard, simultaneously casting a warning glance at Mister Blood Werewolf: ”... so, some thoughts are best quashed upon conception.”

”Don’t waste time!” The main Hunter from the Atonement Hunting Team couldn’t hold back, interrupted his companions’ unending chatter, slightly raising his voice: ”Since those little Trouble Sprites were sent away, we need to expedite our post-training session! Mr. Zha, you along with the Monitor prepare outside... Swordsman will replace Mr. Zha in the Array, Fat Man hosts the focal point, we’ll run the Second Rank deployment a few more times!”

Zheng Qing contentedly watched the efficient Red-faced Male Wizard issuing orders, feeling deeply that appointing him as the main Hunter was a very correct decision.
