High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1972: Chapter 193: Troublesome Supervisors

The ’them’ referred to by Zheng Qing are not entirely female.

It also includes Lin Guo.

That’s right, he was referring to Zhu Si, Li Meng, Su Ya, and Lin Guo, four little witches who make up the ’off-field personnel’. It’s not impossible to view them as a backup team, especially since Lin Guo serves as the manager of the Absolution, and with her excellent alchemy skills, she can provide substantial help even off-field.

The only problem is that this is not an official hunting competition, nor is the surrounding area a safe hunting ground repeatedly surveyed by the Hunting Committee.

Although still inside the campus, within the scope of the School Guardian Array, it doesn’t mean it’s completely safe here. Leaving aside past incidents like the cat by Lin Zhong Lake having its eyes gouged, the kappa being killed, or the black mountain goat breaking out of the lake, even just recently, the group of suddenly mutated and crazed Getrassi in that semi-abandoned hunting ground made Zheng Qing’s heart tremble.

He had an ominous premonition that if he let Li Meng and the Little Fox go to the hunting ground with them, something big would definitely happen. Even if something happened to Li Meng, it wouldn’t matter, but if something happened to the Little Fox, Zheng Qing felt that the owner of the Greenhill Mansion might not stop at just cutting his shadow the next time they met.

No, it’s also a big deal if something happens to Li Meng. The young cost student glanced at the calmly silent Jiang Yu beside him, his gaze sweeping over the little ’red mole’ on Zhu Si’s forehead.

Wait, not just Li Meng, Zhu Si also had a major figure who just ascended to the rank of a legend behind her. Although he had no idea where the Rat Immortal was hiding, Zheng Qing didn’t feel that he could continue his studies peacefully at First University if Zhu Si’s bad luck led to an accident.

So, after a simple calculation, of the four ’off-field personnel’, perhaps only Lin Guo, who joined relying on talent and effort, would be safe for the Absolution Hunting Team if something happened to her.

Thinking of this, the young cost student couldn’t help but give a sympathetic look to the little warlock.

While chatting with several ’little friends’, Zhu Si always paid attention to the actions of the hunters—unlike her, Su Ya mainly used her ears to catch Poseidon’s movements. Among the four, perhaps only Li Meng was chatting with full concentration and excitement.

So when Zheng Qing shifted the topic towards them, the new lecturer at First University immediately turned her head, interjected with displeasure, and said, ”What do you mean, ’what to do’? You train your way, will we interfere with your training? Why are we just troublesome?”

Interfere, and just troublesome.

Zheng Qing inwardly grumbled sarcastically, but outwardly plastered a warm smile: ”How could that be! You heard wrong... What I just said about ’them’ refers to a group of mutated Getrassi.”

”Getrassi?” Li Meng’s attention was immediately drawn to this peculiar name, her eyes shining: ”A very rare magical creature, what happened to them?”

”They mutated.” Xin Fat Man jumped in. He understood Zheng Qing’s thoughts well and spoke gibberishly: ”Originally, they looked like a pack of wild dogs, but after the mutation, they oozed pus all over, their fur turned into wriggling flesh buds, and a foul odor could be smelled from afar... Hmm, the smell is just like if Professor Li’s office were sealed for a month.”

The strange smell of the Potion Class Professor’s office was a nightmare that haunted all students at First University. Even Su Ya and Zhu Si, who had never been there, had heard of its terror.

And for Li Meng and Lin Guo who had experienced it firsthand, their expressions changed in unison.

Zheng Qing inwardly gave the fat wizard a thumbs up, lightly coughed twice, and added: ”Yes, our hunting team will soon be dealing with that group of mutated Getrassi. If you’re particularly interested in watching...”

He made a fake invitation, already seventy to eighty percent sure that these troublesome kids would give up. But the subtlety of Murphy’s Law is that it always kicks in when you have the most confidence.

”Just a group of Getrassi, I’m the manager of the hunting team!” Lin Guo very gallantly patted her chest: ”I’ve never heard of a manager leaving their hunting team and running away... Besides, if you retreat at the slightest difficulty, how will you become an excellent hunter in the future?”

Blue Bird nodded approvingly.

Zheng Qing then looked at the little warlock, stunned—he almost forgot that Lin Guo originally joined to become a formal hunter, only temporarily serving as a manager due to unexpected turns.

”That’s right!”

Not experiencing the power of Professor Li’s office personally, Zhu Si was the second to break free from Zheng Qing’s intimidation, swinging her arms generously, looking like a big sister: ”Just a little stink, let me tell you, I’ve been through worse in Dreamland... Do you know how thick the moon beast dung piled up on the marshland by Uubos Lake is? It’d shock you to hear!”

”But those Getrassi can transform too, changing from a black big dog into the shape of a black big horse!” Zheng Qing had to continue reinforcing the scary image in his mind: ”...Have you heard of the ’Mad Hunt’ in the Black Tide? Those mutated creatures are like the skull horses under the command of the mad hunters, all bones wrapped in skin, eyes like charcoal, with jaws full of interlocking sharp teeth...”

”Can you ride them?” Li Meng’s focus was predictably novel.

Staring at her eager expression, Zheng Qing was stunned for a few seconds before stammering and waving his arms to explain: ”This...they aren’t to be ridden or not...they’re—you know—especially disgusting, particularly terrifying, and they don’t die! No matter what magic we use, whether we burn them to ashes or chop them to bits, they quickly regenerate!”

”Oh? They gain powerful regenerative abilities after mutation?”

Lin Guo’s eyes shone as she instinctively moved the small backpack slung behind her to the front, unzipping it, took out a notebook and feather pen, and asked: ”...Is it regenerating in place or from the void? How do you determine if it’s the same Getrassi before and after regeneration? What is the magic power reaction at the scene during regeneration? Does interrupting the regeneration process affect its effectiveness?”

The mouse on the backpack, showing signs of irritation after its nap was disturbed, rudely gestured at Zheng Qing, its attitude harsh.

Zheng Qing felt his expression wouldn’t be much better than that of the mouse, as he numbingly watched the alchemist with a hint of fanaticism in her eyes, his mouth tasted slightly bitter.

He then pinned the last hope on Su Ya.

”Did your mistress say what time you need to be back?” He tried to appear kind and friendly, reminding, ”Poseidon can’t stay out too late, right...”

”It’s fine!” Su Ya eagerly dismissed the male wizard’s little scheme, her two furry fox ears happily flickered: ”My mistress is at the Moon Council meeting and won’t be back until tomorrow... I could stay out all night without anyone noticing!”

Nearby, Xin Fat Man and Dylan snickered maliciously.

Zheng Qing gloomily glared at them.

Ultimately, it was Jiang Yu who resolved these troubles.

”Leave them to me,” the witch raised her hand to tuck her hair behind her ear, smiling slightly: ”Incidentally, not feeling well today, I’ll sit on the substitute bench on the sidelines... Meanwhile, watch as Li Meng memorizes tomorrow’s potion class recipes.”

This time, it was the little witch whose expression changed.
