High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 117: Chapter 41 The Unexpected Guest_1

It was around 7’o clock on Saturday evening.

For many entertainment places around The First University, this was the most golden consumption period during the week.

The students who had been busy for five days had got a full rest on Saturday morning. Energetic and well-off, they were in need of a suitable place to release the hormones built up in their young bodies.

Therefore, many people ended up at bars.

Here, they have Green Bee, Demon Blood Wine, Mist Liquor, all kinds of desserts and fruits, and attractive young students from four colleges. If you have enough confidence in your charm, the bar owner won’t stop a beautiful encounter from happening.

As one of the top bars in the Pedestian Street of Beta Town, the Wandering Bar was always overcrowded during this period, with an extraordinarily lively atmosphere.

A few veteran students adeptly pushed open the door of Wandering Bar, stuffing their entrance tickets into the mouth of a big frog squatting by the door.

The frog doorkeeper puffed up his mouth, chewed the tickets a few times, then spat out a few hand tags, extending his long tongue to hand them over to the guests.

”I’ve always found the way to get into Wandering Bar a bit disgusting.” Arthur·Ness took the silver hand tag with a napkin, somewhat disdainfully, ”No idea why people like this place!”

The frog’s lips writhed a bit, its eyes narrowed, casting a resentful look at the young men.

”Maybe because more people come here, everyone then likes it.” Sima Yi casually took his tag off the sticky tongue, put it on his wrist, and said gently to the frog, ”Don’t take it personally, they are just typical Alpha.”

The frog withdrew his tongue, making a gurgling noise in his throat.

”I happen to have some Leptopilina clavipes flies, you might like it.” Sima Yi cheerfully took out a glass jar from his pocket and put it on the stone table next to the frog.

In the jar, a bunch of flies with black bodies fluttered their wings, their green bellies bulging as they strained to blow their horns.

The frog’s broad mouth corners turned up slightly, it nodded gracefully, signaling to the young men that they could enter.

Arthur·Ness watched Sima Yi’s series of actions mockingly, a disdainful expression on his face.

”I should write you a recommendation letter.” Mr. Ness said in a voice nearly dripping with sarcasm, ”Perhaps Sir Friedman would appreciate your meticulous style.”

”Much obliged.” Sima Yi shoved his hands in his pockets, his face displaying a laid-back expression.

”What are we doing here today?” Kitano Gen, who had been following the two of them, asked in a rushed tone, ”I thought we should be staying in places like the library recently.”

”If you hadn’t stayed in the library all day before, then you shouldn’t go to the library all day now.” Sima Yi pushed aside the front curtain, and explained leisurely: ”We haven’t done anything wrong, there’s no need to feel guilty.”

Arthur·Ness nodded thoughtfully.

”But, why is it so quiet here today?” Kitano Gen followed the two, passed through the curtain, and turned into the hall of Wandering Bar, asking surprisingly, ”Where’s the music and the lights? Where are the elfin waiters?”

Normally, this hall would be filled with noisy people bustling about. The colourful lights would be flashing uninhibitedly overhead, with sharp noise filling the ears. When customers came in, the elves would flutter to their sides, delivering delicious drinks and food.

But now, none of this was here.

The candles floating above in the ceiling had all gathered in the depths of the hall, casting the other parts of the bar into profound darkness.

Those guests, who were supposed to be noisy and boisterous, were astonishingly holding their breath and sitting silently under the light, without a trace of dissatisfaction or restlessness.

”I originally just wanted you guys to meet some interesting people here.” Sima Yi raised his eyebrows, looking towards the only bright spot in the depths of the hall, and said with interest, ”But apparently, we’ve run into something even more interesting.”

”Seems like a Spirit Witch is calling spirits?” Arthur·Ness sniffed, his face filled with confusion.

He smelled a familiar strange fragrance.

”Let’s go and see.”

The few of them stood at the edge of the crowd. Noticing that the front row was all first-year students, they rudely squeezed in.

The newbies who got squeezed opened their mouths after seeing the badge on these veterans’ chests, then sulkily stepped back a few steps.

There were two empty spaces in the crowd.

A black-haired girl was kneeling on one of the pieces of empty ground.

At this moment, her head was bowed, her hands covered in an unknown red fluid, sketching a complex figure on the smooth floor. There were jade plates and bamboo slips scattered by her feet.

It was apparent that she was arranging a formation.

The girl’s disheveled hair concealed her face. The Alpha veterans weren’t sure who she was.

But on the other open ground, the figure standing in front of the table had left a deep impression on Arthur and Kitano Gen.

”Zheng Qing.” Arthur·Ness mouth twitched, his teeth gritting as he spat out the name.

”Oh? So he’s Zheng Qing?” Sima Yi looked at the plain-looking boy in front of the desk with interest, turned his head and asked a female spectator next to him, ”Excuse me, could you tell me what happened here?”

Being chatted up by a second-year veteran student, especially such a good-looking one, the girl was immediately blushing.

But that didn’t stop her from explaining in detail to the veterans what had just happened in the bar.

Calling spirits, drawing talismans, breaking fingers to seal spirits.

The story was simple, but bizarre.

After Sima Yi took a keen interest in the seemingly ordinary yet unbelievable incidents and asked the girl in detail, he turned his head towards his companions.

”It seems we can go back now,” he said in a very relaxed tone.

Mr. Ness didn’t say anything. He looked closely at the little enchantress lying on the bar, illuminated by the bright candlelight.

”Is that young girl the Spirit Witch who nearly broke her vows?” He murmured, his face showing a hint of interest, ”You mean, Zheng Qing is saving her by biting a bunch of fingers?”

Sima Yi didn’t say anything. He had a vague idea of Arthur·Ness’s plan.

He felt it necessary to put an end to Mr. Ness’s impractical thoughts.

”It seems that this young girl has a good relationship with Zheng Qing.” Arthur·Ness glanced at Sima Yi, licked his dry lips, ”Maybe I should get some friends to complain to the Witchcraft Federation Committee about this almost prohibitory behavior.”

”Almost prohibitory means it isn’t prohibitory,” Sima Yi turned his head, looking at Arthur’s pale, oily, makeup-covered face, he couldn’t help but sigh, ”Don’t stir things up. If you look carefully at the girl who is sketching the formation, you should be able to guess her identity from the restraining step she wears around her waist. Do you think your friends would dare to mess with the Jiang Family?”

Arthur·Ness opened his mouth, but eventually closed it unwillingly.
