High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 110: Chapter 34: The Bloody Incident Triggered by a Hard Candy_1

The red candy slipped into Zheng Qing’s mouth, slick like a oiled river stone, slipping right into Zheng Qing’s stomach.

Duan Xiao Jian, who was searching for Liu Fei Fei and Nicholas nearby, suddenly turned his head, exposing a sleazy grin.

Zhang Ji Xin blinked his eyes, the worry from his face had vanished completely, only leaving a look of excitement, ”How is it? What’s the sensation? What’s the flavor?”

Zheng Qing said nothing.

A strange sensation began to radiate from his stomach, rushing towards his limbs. The tuft of hair on his head suddenly stood on end and then drooped among his other hair; his hands and feet began to tingle, causing him to jump around and continuously scratch himself.

”Could it be nettle flavor?” Xin Fat Man came over with a plate of cake and seriously scrutinized Zheng Qing who was hopping around, ”It looks intense.”

His face had turned blue at some point.

Several other boys also gathered around Zheng Qing, pointing with great interest.

Zheng Qing opened his mouth wide as if to say something, but the intense sensation stubbornly rushed towards the top of his head until it reached his eyes, where it then erupted out of them.

The tears from his eyes started to flow uncontrollably.

”I think it’s chili.” Zhang Ji Xin confidently pointed at the crimson tears slowly dripping down Zheng Qing’s cheek, and analyzed, ”Look at his intense reaction and the color of his tears, it must be chili flavor!”

”No! No! No!” Xin Fat Man, waving his short plump finger, refuted, ”It’s the first time Brother Qing is having smoking candy, so it’s not strange for him to have such an intense reaction. As for this color of tears, I know at least fifteen things that could cause it! For example, cinnabar, goji berries, saffron, tomatoes, pomegranate... all of these can make people cry red tears.”

”But it’s definitely not nettle, that type of smoking candy makes your tears green.” Zhang Ji Xin pouted his mouth.

”Hehe, it’s not over yet.” Duan Xiao Jian, with a hunched back, circled around Zheng Qing with a villainous grin on his face, ”Wait until he exhales the smoke, then we’ll know the final result!”

While they were talking, Zheng Qing already realized that he was the butt of their joke again.

But at the moment, he was too distracted to bother them, with several rounds of intense sensation subsiding, he heard a gurgling sound coming from his stomach. It felt as if an Airbus was about to take off from his belly.

Then, his mouth, which had just closed, opened again.

A puff of smoke rushed out, forming the shape of a chili in front of him.

Xin Fat Man drew a deep regretful sigh, picked up his wine glass, and gulped down a glass of blood-red wine.

Strange enough, when the puff of smoke was still in his organs, Zheng Qing felt nothing but suffocation. Once it had been exhaled, it seemed to take all the uncomfortable feelings away with it, including the dizziness from drinking.

For a while, he felt incredibly refreshed all over his body.

”What is this?” After giving Zhang Ji Xin, who was holding his head after a beating, a piece of his mind, Zheng Qing wiped off the bloody traces on his cheek and asked.

”Smoke Candy.” Duan Xiao Jian obediently downed a large glass of wine as an apology.

”Smoke Candy?”

”It’s probably candy made by solidifying all kinds of flavored smoke.” Xin Fat Man shrugged his shoulders carelessly, handed Zheng Qing a glass of blood-red wine, and added, ”This is the main product of Panda Candy Group, no one knows how it’s made. According to newspapers, it combines ordinary talisman techniques and some alien technology.”

”What is this!” Zheng Qing looked at the glass that the fat man handed over with caution and took a step back.

”Demon Blood Wine, it’s the most popular infusion in the wizard world. It’s brewed with demon blood essence and assisted with various medicinal materials, this stuff is great.” Tang Dun somehow appeared in between them with a beaming smile, raised his red drink in his hands and took a sip.

Zheng Qing promptly raised his glass and also took a sip.

The wine didn’t taste strong, but it had a slight bitterness, developing a complex, well-rounded taste. Just like a vintage wine.

”That smoke candy seems to have a good sobering effect.” Zheng Qing took another sip of the wine, and said with some lingering taste in his mouth, ”And it feels refreshing after eating.”

”You should eat less of that stuff.” Tang Dun shook his head and said, ”Such strong stimuli are still a bit too much for us wizards, especially mentally.”

He tapped his finger on his forehead.

Zheng Qing licked his lips and gave a slightly regretful sigh.

”Ahh!” A girl’s scream interrupted the guys’ drinking party.

Zheng Qing turned around to see a few girls jumping away from the table in panic, swatting at something.

”I was just wondering what excuse to use to join them.” Xin Fat Man craned his short, stubby neck to sneak a peek, then quickly turned back around and filled his cup. Smiling mischievously at his buddies, he said, ”What a golden opportunity.”

”Ahem.” Class President Tang Dun, an image of mature restraint, cleared his throat and chuckled,” Since our female classmates seem to be having some trouble, it’s our duty as the boys of the class to go and see what’s going on.”

”Right.”

”Exactly!”

A bunch of guys, their eyes gleaming with anticipation, agreed.

Zheng Qing followed behind them in silence, convincing himself that his face was red from excessive drinking.

By the time he got there, the situation had already been resolved.

A girl had screamed when she found a black cockroach crawling out of her cookie. The other girls at the table were also caught up in the commotion.

”That’s no ordinary cockroach.” Duan Xiao Jian grinned as he grabbed a cookie and handed it to Zheng Qing.

Zheng Qing held the cookie at eye level and saw that it had a terrifying face and looked like it was screaming in agony. As its mouth opened and closed, a glossy black bug crawled out.

”What a wonderful hard candy,” Before Zheng had decided whether to eat it, Duan Xiao Jian lost patience. He flicked the bug into his own mouth, crunching it loudly and licking his lips in praise, ”It’s even coffee-flavored.”

Zheng Qing grimaced and took a bite of his own cookie without speaking.

Sugar scattered from the cookie’s eye sockets like tears.

Zheng Qing shivered and quickly shoved the rest into his mouth.

The girl who had screamed was excitedly describing her moment of terror:

”When I picked up a cookie from the plate, a bug crawled out of it... At first, I thought the shop’s pastries were contaminated!... It scared me to death!”

The girl had fair skin, a middle part hairstyle, and thin lips.

Zheng Qing vaguely remembered her name was something like Ma Something Xin.

Xin Fat Man’s next sentence cleared up his confusion.

”Ma Kexin! You need to calm down.” Xin Fat Man solemnly handed her a cup filled with misty white liquor, ”Here, have some Mist Liquor. It’s great for girls.”

”Oh, I can’t.” Ma Kexin said excitedly, but her hand firmly grasped the cup, her thin lips curling up in anticipation, ”If my mother knew I had started drinking within my first week of college, she would be mad.”

”No problem, come on,” Class Monitor Tang Dun stood next to the female class president Jiang Yu, gesturing everyone. He tried his best to act mature,” We’re all in the same class, and we haven’t had a drink together yet.”

Jiang Yu was whispering something to another girl, seemingly ignoring the Monitor’s call.

”She really acts like a queen.” Xin Fat Man muttered.

Duan Xiao Jian, looking at Ma Kexin, nodded in agreement.

After a few calls, everyone gave face to the Monitor.

Suddenly, a circle formed around the group.

”Cheers!”

A bunch of cups clinked together, ringing out a melody of joy.

The clear glass reflected a bunch of excited faces.
