The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 344: Chapter 344: Kid, Do You Have a Medical License?

Zhang Guoqiang just sighed without speaking. He couldn’t afford to provoke the Martial King, but he couldn’t afford to provoke Cheng Yuan either.

Zhou Yadong chuckled. ”Young man, you’re too naive, aren’t you? You’re just Shen Jiangnan’s puppet. Why would I offend a Martial King for you?”

Cheng Yuan looked at Zhou Yadong calmly. ”I’m sorry, Governor Zhou, but you will. Lately, have you been sleeping poorly? Have you been waking up from nightmares often?”

”So what if I have?”

”Governor Zhou, if I could completely cure your insomnia and nightmares, letting you get a good night’s sleep, would you offend a Martial King for me? Surely the Zhou Family isn’t afraid of a Martial King, are they?”

”The Zhou Family is certainly not afraid of a Martial King. But as for my condition, even the experts at Luocheng First Hospital are helpless. You have a solution?”

”Insomnia and nightmares aren’t difficult to treat.”

Zhou Yadong was suffering so terribly from the insomnia and nightmares that, with the attitude of trying anything as a last resort, he proactively extended his wrist.

”Alright then. Since you say you’re a doctor, check my pulse.”

Cheng Yuan shook his head gently. ”No need to check your pulse. Governor Zhou, the root of your illness isn’t in your body.”

Hearing this, Zhou Yadong rolled his eyes. ’This kid has to be joking, right? If the root of the illness isn’t in my body, where else could it be?’

Zhang Guoqiang was also speechless. ’Why is Young Master Cheng spouting such nonsense? I really don’t know why Lord Shen values him so much. He’s acting like a complete clown!’

As they were speaking, a business van sped over and stopped at the entrance of Villa No. 8.

An elderly man stepped out of the vehicle. He had a long, flowing beard, wore a traditional robe, and possessed white hair with a youthful complexion. He looked just like an old Immortal.

A few assistants followed by his side.

This old man was Zhu Yonghong, an expert Luocheng First Hospital had just poached from Beijing Peking Union Medical College Hospital.

Zhu Yonghong was highly accomplished in the domains of neurology and cerebrovascular medicine.

Zhou Yadong greeted him with great enthusiasm, grasping Zhu Yonghong’s hand firmly. ”Professor Zhu, we’ve finally been blessed with your presence! I’ve seen over twenty famous doctors, and only the medicine you prescribed has had any effect!”

Zhu Yonghong clasped his hands behind his back, projecting the air of a sagely master. ”Healing the sick and saving lives is the duty of a doctor. There’s no need for such ceremony, Governor Zhou.”

Zhou Yadong laid on the flattery thick. ”Professor Zhu, you truly are the leading authority in Dragon Country’s neurology domain! However, the medicine you gave me only alleviates the symptoms. These past few days, the insomnia and nightmares have started to get worse again!”

Zhu Yonghong wasn’t flustered in the slightest, stating calmly, ”Governor Zhou, I have just developed a new medication. This time, it will surely cure your condition completely.”

Zhou Yadong was overjoyed. ”Thank you, Professor Zhu!”

Zhu Yonghong turned his head to look at Cheng Yuan and Zhang Guoqiang. ”Governor Zhou, you have guests? If it’s inconvenient, I can come back tomorrow.”

”It’s convenient, of course it’s convenient! This is the Director of Commerce, Zhang Zhiqiang, a very good friend of mine. This young man is named Cheng Yuan; he’s a doctor.”

’A doctor?’

Zhu Yonghong’s expression darkened. Cheng Yuan was too young; he didn’t look like a doctor at all, more like a university student.

”Young man, which medical school did you graduate from? Which hospital do you work at? Do you have a medical license?”

Cheng Yuan answered faintly, ”I didn’t major in medicine. If I hadn’t been expelled, I’d be a senior now.”

’Not a medicine major?’

’And expelled?’

Zhu Yonghong was speechless. He turned and criticized, ”Governor Zhou, even if your condition has worsened, you can’t just grasp at straws out of desperation. Medicine is a sacred profession. Without more than ten years of dedicated research, one is simply not worthy of being called a doctor.”

Zhou Yadong gave a wry smile. ”I didn’t invite this young man; Director Zhang brought him. This ’Little Divine Doctor’ just claimed that the root of my illness isn’t in my body. Isn’t that hilarious?”

PFFT!

Zhu Yonghong and his assistants couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

’This kid is ridiculous, isn’t he?’

’If the illness isn’t in the body, where is it?’

’Did the illness grow wings and fly away?’

Zhu Yonghong glanced at Cheng Yuan and said coolly, ”Young man, it’s true that some folk healers have a trick or two up their sleeves and can cure illnesses with their remedies. But you can’t just spout nonsense, can you? If the illness isn’t in the body, where is it? As long as you sincerely apologize to Governor Zhou and promise to never deceive people again, I can pretend today’s events never happened.”

Cheng Yuan snorted coldly. ”Someone certainly does need to apologize, but it’s not me—it’s you! You can’t even find the root of the illness. Are you trying to cure him or murder him?”

”You!!”

Zhu Yonghong was trembling with rage, pointing a finger at Cheng Yuan, unable to utter a single word for a long moment.

Zhu Yonghong’s two assistants stepped forward, harshly rebuking Cheng Yuan.

”Kid, do you have any idea who you’re talking to? Professor Zhu is the leading authority in neurology and vascular medicine in Dragon Country! Watch your mouth!”

”Kid, apologize to Professor Zhu right now! Otherwise, we’re calling the police to report you for practicing medicine illegally and obstructing medical treatment!”

Cheng Yuan laughed. ”So this is the level of an expert? Did you learn your medical skills from a pig? You can’t even find the root of the problem?”

Zhu Yonghong was about to go mad with anger. He turned to Zhou Yadong, his voice trembling, ”Governor Zhou, you heard him, didn’t you? I am irreconcilably opposed to this brat! It’s either him or me! If you choose him, I will turn around and leave right now!”

Between Cheng Yuan and Zhu Yonghong, Zhou Yadong naturally trusted Zhu Yonghong.

Zhou Yadong looked apologetically at Zhang Guoqiang. ”Old Zhang, you see this...”

Zhang Guoqiang was in an extremely difficult position. If Cheng Yuan were an ordinary doctor, he would have left immediately. But he truly couldn’t afford to provoke Cheng Yuan! Lord Shen was willing to make ’adjustments’ for him; getting someone like him reassigned would be a piece of cake, wouldn’t it?

”Old Zhou, another option is another chance to live! Young Master Cheng’s medical skills are truly excellent. He once cured the City Lord.”

Zhou Yadong looked at Zhu Yonghong with a pleading gaze. ”Professor Zhu, I naturally believe in you! But he was brought here by Director Zhang, after all, and I have to give Director Zhang some face! Please, just pretend he doesn’t exist.”

Zhou Yadong’s attitude was perfectly deferential, and Zhu Yonghong nodded in satisfaction. ”As long as Governor Zhou believes in me, that’s all that matters!”

Zhou Yadong let out a small sigh of relief. ”Everyone, please, come inside.”

Led by Zhou Yadong, the group soon entered the villa.

Zhou Yadong’s villa had a classic Chinese interior design, giving it a simple, elegant, and antique feel. It was clear he had good taste.

Cheng Yuan scanned his surroundings briefly, his gaze then falling upon a particular chair.

The chair had a rather strange design; its armrests weren’t straight.

Instead, they curved.

At first, the curve was gentle, but as it neared the backrest, it suddenly became steep.

Cheng Yuan recognized the chair’s origin—the Promotion and Wealth Chair!

The chair of He Shen, the notoriously corrupt official from the Qing Dynasty!

And Zhou Yadong’s illness was caused by this very Promotion and Wealth Chair!
