The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 319: Chapter 319: Cheng Yuan Must Be Hiding

Lin Ruoxi suddenly remembered something and said, a little vexed, ”Honey, I’m still on my period. It’ll probably be another day or two.”

Huh?

Cheng Yuan’s enthusiasm instantly deflated. ’How could I have forgotten about that?’

”Honey, are you disappointed? If you really can’t hold back, I...”

Cheng Yuan gently shook his head and said in a soft voice, ”Ruoxi, I’m going to spend the rest of my life with you. I can wait a day or two. You’ve had a long day, too. How about I give you a massage?”

With that, Cheng Yuan walked into the bedroom and gently laid Lin Ruoxi down on the big bed.

Cheng Yuan swore he had no intention of taking advantage of her.

After all, Lin Ruoxi had already decided they would be a real married couple.

But Lin Ruoxi was just so beautiful, her figure so perfect, that Cheng Yuan was dazzled and couldn’t look away.

Cheng Yuan hesitated, simply staring blankly at Lin Ruoxi.

”My wife, you’re so beautiful. The Cheng Family ancestors must be smiling down on us for me to have married you.”

Lin Ruoxi’s heart fluttered with joy at the compliment. She said sweetly, ”Honey, you’re pretty amazing yourself!”

”Haha, let’s stop with the mutual flattery. Let me give you that massage.”

Cheng Yuan took a deep breath, trying to calm himself, and began to gently massage Lin Ruoxi’s acupoints and meridians.

Lin Ruoxi was truly exhausted. Before Cheng Yuan had been massaging for even thirty seconds, she fell into a deep sleep, her breathing becoming steady and even.

Seeing she was asleep, Cheng Yuan’s movements became even more gentle, lest he wake her.

He massaged for a full half hour, dissipating all the accumulated lactic acid and weariness from her body, before finally stopping.

Cheng Yuan got out of bed, took a quick shower, then carefully got back in, holding Lin Ruoxi as he drifted into a deep sleep.

Lin Ruoxi slept soundly, not opening her eyes until eight o’clock.

The first thing she did upon waking was subconsciously grab her phone, wanting to check the Nasdaq and see how high Yuanxi Pharmaceutical’s stock price had climbed.

But when she saw Cheng Yuan sleeping soundly beside her, she put her phone down. ’My husband already has a problem with me being a workaholic,’ she thought.

’I should try not to work when I’m home with him.’

’Since he’s still sleeping, I guess it’s up to me—the wife—to make breakfast today!’

Lin Ruoxi didn’t know how to make anything complicated, but she could fry an egg and heat up two glasses of milk.

Soon, everything was ready.

Cheng Yuan was awakened by the aroma of fried eggs. He got out of bed and was amazed to find Lin Ruoxi cooking.

What surprised him most was that Lin Ruoxi’s fried eggs were actually quite good!

She had controlled the heat perfectly. The very center of the yolk wasn’t fully set—the most nutritious way to have it.

”Honey, I had no idea you could make breakfast! I’m shocked!”

Lin Ruoxi rolled her eyes at him. ”Who are you looking down on? My mom taught me that a girl doesn’t have to cook, but she has to know how. I learned a little, enough to take care of myself.”

”I have to try my wife’s fried egg!”

Cheng Yuan devoured the egg in one bite. It was unexpectedly delicious!

”Honey, I want another one!”

”Alright, I’ll fry you another.”

They ate breakfast in a warm and happy atmosphere. Cheng Yuan felt he understood Lin Ruoxi even better, and their feelings for each other were growing warmer by the second.

Once they had eaten their fill, Cheng Yuan smiled and asked, ”Honey, how much did Yuanxi’s stock price go up? Did it break any records?”

”I haven’t looked yet. Let’s see.”

Lin Ruoxi opened the Nasdaq app and couldn’t help but pout a little.

”It’s a shame. It ’only’ went up 67%, so it didn’t break the record.”

Cheng Yuan laughed. ”Honey, I love your use of the word ’only.’ I suspect you’re humblebragging! And I have proof!”

”Here, eat. Maybe this will keep you quiet.”

Lin Ruoxi stuffed her own fried egg into Cheng Yuan’s mouth.

While the atmosphere on Cheng Yuan’s side was wonderful, the Xuanyuan War God was dealing with a massive headache.

Early yesterday morning, He Hailian had come to the War God Mansion to find the Xuanyuan War God.

”Xuanyuan Potian, it’s been days! Why haven’t you avenged your son yet?”

Xuanyuan Potian gave a bitter smile. ”Hailian, the Battle Department is holding its all-army martial tournament. In the last one, our Dongshan Defense Zone came in second to last! We have to get a good result this time! As soon as the tournament is over, I’ll destroy Cheng Yuan immediately!”

He Hailian flew into a rage. ”Xuanyuan Potian! I don’t care about some tournament! Tomorrow is the seventh day since your son’s death! I must see Cheng Yuan’s head by then! If not, I’ll kill myself right in front of you!”

Xuanyuan Potian’s head was splitting from her pestering, but he couldn’t afford to get angry.

He had been in love with He Hailian since elementary school, and that love had continued all the way through college.

And He Hailian had feelings for him, too.

But she was the young lady of a prestigious family, while he was just a boy from a humble background.

Naturally, the He Family would never approve of their relationship. They had sent people to warn Xuanyuan Potian multiple times, telling him not to get any ideas about a girl so far above his station.

Xuanyuan Potian had originally thought he was destined to love He Hailian without ever being able to truly be with her.

Until one day, Xuanyuan Potian happened upon a very scruffy old janitor on campus.

The other students looked down on the scruffy old man, but Xuanyuan Potian would often bring him steamed buns.

One day, the old man suddenly announced that he wanted to take him as a disciple and pass on his legacy.

Xuanyuan Potian thought the old man had Alzheimer’s and was just talking nonsense.

He never would have guessed that the old man was actually a hidden master of the Martial Dao!

After receiving the old man’s teachings, Xuanyuan Potian’s power grew by leaps and bounds.

During his junior year of college, Xuanyuan Potian was recruited by the Battle Department.

In just three short years, Xuanyuan Potian distinguished himself with numerous military honors, rising from a common grunt to one of the ten War Gods of the Battle Department. He was put in charge of the defense of two provinces, becoming a powerful regional commander with real authority.

Once he had achieved success and fame, the He Family Patriarch personally came to his door to apologize, delivering He Hailian to him with his own hands. He even promised that their future child would become the next Patriarch of the He Family.

Of course, Xuanyuan Potian wouldn’t refuse He Hailian, but he wanted nothing to do with the He Family, so he never officially married her.

As a result, He Hailian gave birth to their son out of wedlock.

This was why Xuanyuan Potian had always felt he owed He Hailian.

Xuanyuan Potian did everything in his power to make it up to mother and son, which led to He Tianci developing a reckless, arrogant personality, fearing neither heaven nor earth.

It was a personality that ultimately led to his death.

Pestered beyond his endurance, Xuanyuan Potian finally sought out his adjutant and ordered in a low voice, ”Go to Luocheng at once. Arrest Cheng Yuan and bring him to me!”

”Sir!”

A day passed. The adjutant had turned Luocheng upside down but found no trace of Cheng Yuan. He had no choice but to report this back to Xuanyuan Potian.

Frustrated, Xuanyuan Potian went to He Hailian. ”Hailian, my adjutant turned Luocheng upside down but couldn’t find Cheng Yuan. He must have fled and gone into hiding. But don’t you worry. As long as he’s still in the Dragon Country, he won’t escape the palm of my hand!”

He Hailian was a frequent social media user. While scrolling through her feed that morning, she happened to come across news of Yuanxi Pharmaceutical’s press conference.

Out of boredom, she clicked on it.

At first, she was completely uninterested. She didn’t care if Yuanxi Pharmaceutical was just putting on a show, or if the reporters were paid plants—none of it held her attention.

But when the camera panned across the dais, He Hailian’s eyes shot wide open.

She saw a familiar figure on that dais!

Cheng Yuan! The man who murdered her son!
