The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 308: Chapter 308: Rooting Out the Traitor

The two chatted as they walked, and soon they entered the lab building and reached the laboratory.

Under the leadership of Chief Pharmacist Tang Hancheng, the research team was conducting the final safety tests for the Anti-Aging Cream.

As the Chief Pharmacist, Tang Hancheng held a high position. Even after seeing Lin Ruoxi arrive, he didn’t stop his work, only nodding to her from a distance.

Lin Ruoxi was already used to this.

Lin Ruoxi whispered in Cheng Yuan’s ear, ”Honey, that’s our Yuanxi’s Chief Pharmacist, Tang Hancheng. He’s worked at Yuanxi for fifteen years and has developed six products in total. You could say that Professor Tang is responsible for over sixty percent of Bauhinia Pharmaceutical’s growth to its current scale!”

Cheng Yuan nodded slightly, indicating he understood.

Normally, Lin Ruoxi wouldn’t disturb the research team, but now she couldn’t afford such courtesies. She clapped her hands lightly. ”Everyone, please stop what you’re doing. There’s a new assignment.”

’A new assignment?’

Everyone was startled. Wasn’t the Anti-Aging Cream the top priority for Yuanxi Pharmaceutical for the next three years?

Was there really a task more important than the Anti-Aging Cream?

Tang Hancheng spoke with a hint of displeasure. ”President Lin, the final safety tests for the Anti-Aging Cream will be done in ten minutes. Could you please wait a little longer?”

Lin Ruoxi held this top expert, Tang Hancheng, in high esteem and trusted him greatly. She explained patiently, ”Professor Tang, the formula for our Anti-Aging Cream has been leaked. Huanya Pharmaceutical has already preemptively registered the patent. Therefore, we have to shelve the Anti-Aging Cream for now. We must develop a new product as quickly as possible!”

Tang Hancheng’s pupils contracted slightly, then his face contorted with rage. He bellowed, ”Who leaked the Anti-Aging Cream’s formula? Step forward now! If I find out who it was, I will show no mercy!”

Every researcher’s expression changed dramatically.

”Professor Tang, it couldn’t have been one of us! Everyone on the research team only worked on a part of it! The leak must have come from a shareholder on the board! They’re the only ones who had the complete formula.”

Tang Hancheng turned to Lin Ruoxi, his tone filled with anguish. ”President Lin, I told you we shouldn’t let the shareholders have the formula! I said there was a risk of a leak, and look what happened! The formula is out! That was five whole years of our blood, sweat, and tears!”

Lin Ruoxi gave a bitter smile. She was the one who had buckled under the board’s pressure and disclosed the formula to the shareholders.

But she had signed non-disclosure agreements with all of them!

Lin Ruoxi couldn’t figure it out. What could the shareholders possibly gain from leaking the formula?

Wouldn’t it just be damaging their own interests?

While Lin Ruoxi was lost in self-blame, Cheng Yuan was staring intently at Tang Hancheng.

Although Tang Hancheng was putting on a show of righteous indignation, Cheng Yuan felt that something was off.

Cheng Yuan silently activated his Celestial Witch Divination Art to read Tang Hancheng’s face. He discovered two ”career lines” on Tang Hancheng’s features!

This meant that Tang Hancheng definitely had divided loyalties.

Cheng Yuan performed a divination for Tang Hancheng.

The results of the divination confirmed Cheng Yuan’s suspicions.

’He’s serving one master while his heart is with another.’

Cheng Yuan said in a low voice, ”Professor Tang, may I have a word with you?”

Tang Hancheng looked at Lin Ruoxi with a questioning gaze. ”President Lin, and this is?”

”This is my husband, Cheng Yuan, the Chairman of Yuanxi Pharmaceutical.”

Tang Hancheng’s expression grew a little more serious. ”Ah, so it’s Chairman Cheng. I wonder what Chairman Cheng would like to discuss?”

Cheng Yuan activated his Double Pupil and unleashed its advanced skill: Spiritual Shock!

Tang Hancheng was just an ordinary person, so Cheng Yuan used less than one percent of the Spiritual Shock’s power.

Even so, Tang Hancheng’s mind grew dazed, and his consciousness blurred.

Cheng Yuan asked in a mesmerizing voice, ”Tang Hancheng, why did you betray Yuanxi Pharmaceutical? How much did the Lin Family offer you?”

The spell took hold. Tang Hancheng, completely unaware, answered from his subconscious. ”Old Master Lin saved me. He funded my college education. He’s like a second father to me. Without Old Master Lin, I might be hauling bricks on a construction site right now! My life is his. I will do anything he asks without a second thought.”

The laboratory erupted.

The entire laboratory erupted in an uproar, and everyone stared at Tang Hancheng in utter shock!

No one could believe that Tang Hancheng was actually the traitor!

Lin Ruoxi was completely floored. She never would have believed Tang Hancheng was the traitor, not in a million years.

In Lin Ruoxi’s mind, Tang Hancheng was the most trustworthy person, bar none!

After all, at least sixty percent of the credit for Bauhinia Pharmaceutical’s success today belonged to Tang Hancheng!

Cheng Yuan retracted his Double Pupil and looked at Lin Ruoxi with a slight smile. ”Honey, I found your mole. You can handle him as you see fit.”

Betrayed by the person she trusted most, Lin Ruoxi was furious. She immediately took out her phone and called the security manager. ”Manager Li, bring people to the lab building at once and restrain Tang Hancheng!”

”Right away!”

Tang Hancheng snapped out of the Spiritual Shock, and the color drained from his face. ’How could I have just confessed to everything?’

’It’s over! I’m finished!’

Tang Hancheng turned to run, but how could Cheng Yuan let him escape so easily?

SWISH!

With a flick of his wrist, Cheng Yuan sent a Silver Needle into each of Tang Hancheng’s legs, sealing his Meridians and blood flow!

THUD! Tang Hancheng collapsed to the ground.

Seeing Tang Hancheng subdued, Lin Ruoxi asked with a curious expression, ”Honey, how did you do that? Why did Tang Hancheng confess everything he did?”

The others also looked at Cheng Yuan with curiosity. Professor Tang had been so careful, why did he suddenly incriminate himself?

Cheng Yuan grinned. ”I know a little Hypnosis. Tang Hancheng fell under it just now, which is why he revealed the secrets hidden deep in his heart.”

A flicker of light crossed Lin Ruoxi’s eyes. She turned to look at the other staff members. Even though Tang Hancheng had been caught, she still felt uneasy.

’What if there are other moles on the research team?’

”Honey, could I trouble you to screen all the researchers?”

Cheng Yuan nodded, decisively activating his Double Pupil and instantly enveloping all several dozen researchers in its power.

”Have any of you ever done anything to betray Yuanxi Pharmaceutical?”

The vast majority of the researchers shook their heads blankly.

Two of them stared blankly at Cheng Yuan and slowly opened their mouths.

”I sold a secret formula for a health supplement.”

”I sold a test report.”

Lin Ruoxi was secretly glad. Thanks to her caution, she had caught two more bad apples!

”Manager Li, take them away! Gather the evidence. I want all three of them sent to prison!”

”Yes, President Lin!”

Cheng Yuan dispersed the Spiritual Shock, and the researchers came back to their senses.

Although they had passed the test, their expressions were dejected.

Tang Hancheng’s betrayal meant that Yuanxi Pharmaceutical was now facing a crisis, on the brink of bankruptcy!

If they couldn’t present a new product at the press conference, Yuanxi’s stock would plummet, and they would all lose their jobs!
