The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 337: Chapter 337: Uncle Cheng, What Kind of Car Did Brother Yuan Get for You?

Cheng Yuan slowly opened his eyes and saw Lin Ruoxi getting dressed. His head throbbed!

How could he have... with Ruoxi last night without making things clear first?

Still, maybe it was for the best to just go with the flow. ’Now that we’ve been intimate, Ruoxi probably won’t leave me so easily, right?’

”Ruoxi, I have something very important to tell you. I was going to tell you last night, but you interrupted me.”

Lin Ruoxi knew exactly what Cheng Yuan wanted to say. She had already resolved to run from it. She didn’t want to hear him say it again, didn’t want to be hurt a second time.

”Oh, it’s already ten o’clock! I have a meeting with a very important distributor! We can talk about whatever it is later!”

With that, Lin Ruoxi ran out of the bedroom in a rather awkward posture.

The moment she closed the bedroom door, Lin Ruoxi could no longer maintain her calm expression. She clapped a hand hard over her mouth as tears streamed down her face as if they were free.

She had finally fallen in love with a man, only for it to end like this!

’Is my life really this bitter?’

From now on, she would never believe in love again. She would go far, far away, to a place where no one knew her, and live out her days, beautiful and alone, slowly growing old.

Cheng Yuan didn’t notice anything was wrong with Lin Ruoxi. He was feeling a little hungry, so he quickly got dressed, planning to grab a bite to eat.

DING-DONG. His WeChat notification chimed.

Cheng Yuan grabbed his phone and saw a message.

[Mr. Yan Liming and Ms. Xiao Yating’s engagement banquet will be held at noon today in Banquet Hall No. 8 of the Hilton Hotel. All friends and family are requested to attend on time.]

Cheng Yuan was suddenly frantic. ’I can’t let Yating get engaged to Yan Liming!’

’Otherwise, when Yan Liming gets into trouble, Uncle Xiao’s family will definitely be dragged into it!’

How could Cheng Yuan even think about eating now?

He raced downstairs, requisitioned a car from the motor pool, and ordered in a clipped tone, ”Get to Luocheng as fast as possible! I’ll take care of any speeding tickets!”

”Yes, Chairman Cheng!”

While Cheng Yuan was on his way back to Luocheng, the Lin Family was holding a high-level meeting.

Elder Lin stared intently at Lin Xingyu. ”Xingyu, what’s the situation with Yuanxi Pharmaceutical? Did you secure the distribution contract?”

Lin Xingyu said, his face flush with anger, ”Dad, I had originally convinced Ruoxi, but Cheng Yuan said a few words and made her change her mind! I also went to see the Third, and the Third told me directly that his son-in-law calls the shots in their family now. He flatly refused me!”

The Lin Family’s old mansion instantly erupted in an uproar!

”Isn’t that guy surnamed Cheng just an ex-con? Where does he get this sense of superiority? How dare he refuse the Lin Family’s olive branch?”

”When Big Brother lost to Yuanxi Auction House, it was also this guy surnamed Cheng’s doing!”

”I’ve looked into it. Cheng Yuan is just relying on his connection to Shen Jiangnan! Now that Shen Jiangnan has gone to Beijing, there’s no one backing him anymore! How dare he still be so arrogant?”

Lin Jianan said gravely, ”Everyone, quiet down. Based on what was just said, to get Yuanxi, we must first get Cheng Yuan. Do any of you have a plan?”

The crowd instantly deflated. They were good at talking tough, but they really had no way of handling Cheng Yuan.

Lin Xingyu glanced at Lin Jianan. ’Back in the day, Dad was just a nobody. During the initial period of accumulating capital, his hands were stained with a lot of blood!’

’Only after establishing the Huanyu Group did he gradually wash himself clean.’

Lin Xingyu said in a low voice, ”Father, since this kid surnamed Cheng won’t give us face, let’s just get rid of him!”

Lin Jianan hesitated, his brows furrowing. ”The Third, this is the 21st century. It’s not the era of fighting and killing anymore.”

”Dad, but do we have any other choice?”

Lin Jianan sighed and turned to leave. ”I’m getting old! This is an era for you young people now!”

Although Lin Jianan had objected at first, his opposition wasn’t very strong when he left in the end. This was, in fact, his tacit approval.

Lin Xingyu took out a burner phone and dialed a number etched deep in his memory. He hadn’t called this number in many years!

BEEP... BEEP...

The call connected quickly, and a slightly cold, sinister voice came through. ”Lin Xingyu, you saved me ten years ago. Over the years, I have acted for you twice. This is your last chance to have me act. Are you sure you want to use it?”

”I’m sure.”

”Name, background, address.”

”Cheng Yuan. He’s the legal husband of my niece, Lin Ruoxi. As far as I know, he owns three properties: Villa No. 1 in Long Lake District, Villa No. 13 in Renhe Court, and a resettlement apartment in Huijing Garden.”

”Within three days, Cheng Yuan will be dead. After this, the debt between us is cleared.”

After saying that, the person on the other end hung up directly.

Lin Xingyu felt an emptiness inside.

However, Lin Xingyu had no regrets. To kill Cheng Yuan, using his final trump card was absolutely worth it!

As long as their Huanya Pharmaceutical could get the agency rights for the Lingxi Health Beverage, Elder Lin would surely pass the position of Patriarch to him!

====

At Cheng Yuan’s urging, the driver was like an untamed stallion, speeding wildly down the highway!

They covered a three-hour journey in less than two, arriving at the Luocheng Hilton Hotel!

Cheng Yuan checked the time. It was 11:55. ’I hope I’m not too late!’

Cheng Yuan rushed into the lobby and made a beeline for Banquet Hall No. 8.

At that moment, Banquet Hall No. 8 was filled with distinguished guests, adorned with lanterns and streamers, and brimming with a festive atmosphere.

Cheng Hongbing and Wu Xiuli were seated at Table No. 6, which was filled with Cheng Hongbing’s old army comrades and their families.

By now, almost everyone had arrived. Only Cheng Yuan was missing.

The people at the table chatted idly.

”President Xiao and Yan Suo are so well-connected! Even President Mei and some leaders from the Municipal Government Office came! They have so much face!”

”Squad Leader, what’s your Xiaoyuan so busy with? How come he’s not here yet?”

Cheng Hongbing answered truthfully, ”Xiaoyuan is busy with his business in the Provincial City. He just said he’ll be here soon.”

’Busy with business in the Provincial City?’

Several of the comrades exchanged glances.

A comrade named Huang Qun asked, ”Squad Leader, I remember at the last get-together, Xiaoyuan didn’t have a job. Did Yan Suo and President Xiao find him a job in the Provincial City?”

Cheng Hongbing shook his head slightly. ”No, Xiaoyuan is starting his own business right now.”

’Starting his own business?’

The comrades shook their heads slightly.

Huang Qun gave a wry smile. ”The current economic climate isn’t great; it’s not the best time to start a business. Squad Leader, you should talk some sense into Xiaoyuan. Don’t let him blindly start a company. It would be terrible if he lost all the money he’s saved for marriage! It’s better to find a stable job somewhere!”

Wu Xiuli didn’t like hearing others criticize Cheng Yuan and immediately spoke up for him.

”Huang Qun, thank you for your good intentions, but Xiaoyuan’s venture has been quite successful. He even bought Old Cheng a new car.”

’The Squad Leader got a new car?’

The comrades felt a pang of jealousy. They turned and shot fierce glares at their own children.

”Did you little rascals hear that? Xiaoyuan already bought your Uncle Cheng a new car. When are you going to buy us a new car?”

The children lowered their heads in embarrassment. They were all part of the ”moonlight clan”—living paycheck to paycheck, and by the end of the month, they even needed their parents to help them out.

Forget buying their parents a new car, they couldn’t even afford a new tire!

The children didn’t believe Cheng Yuan could afford a car. After all, hadn’t he only been out of prison for a few months?

Besides, at the last get-together, didn’t he not even have a job?

Huang Qun’s son, Huang Jianxiang, asked with a defiant look, ”Uncle Cheng, what kind of car did Brother Yuan get you? A Wuling Hongguang?”
