The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 327: Chapter 327: In Our Family, the Son-in-law Calls the Shots

’Cheng Yuan is the chairman of Yuanxi?’

’The Lingxi Health Beverage was personally developed by Cheng Yuan?’

’How is this possible?’

’Cheng Yuan is just an ex-convict!’

’How could he be so capable?’

Lin Xingyu felt like he’d swallowed a dead fly, nearly choking to death on Lin Ruoxi’s words!

Cheng Yuan looked at Lin Xingyu expressionlessly. ”Why aren’t you leaving yet? Waiting for us to ask you to stay for dinner? If you don’t go now, I’m calling security!”

”I’m going, I’m going!”

Lin Xingyu’s face was flushed crimson as he walked out of the office in utter humiliation.

Still not giving up, Lin Xingyu took out his phone and called Lin Xinghe. The call connected quickly, and Lin Xinghe’s somewhat weary voice came through: ”Second Brother, what’s up?”

”Third Brother, you know about the Lingxi Health Beverage, right?”

”I do. I’m helping Ruoxi receive the distributors right now.”

”Third Brother, this is a great chance to return to the Lin Family. As long as you help our Huanya Pharmaceutical get the distribution rights for the Lingxi Health Beverage, I’ll kneel in front of Dad’s door for three days and three nights if I have to, just to get him to invite your family back!”

Lin Xinghe refused without hesitation. ”Second Brother, my son-in-law calls the shots in our family now. It’s no use asking me. You should talk to Ruoxi and my son-in-law directly! I’m really busy here, let’s talk later!”

Lin Xinghe hung up the phone directly and even spat on the ground.

Hua Yao asked curiously, ”Xinghe, who was that on the phone? You look upset.”

”It was Second Brother. He wants to be a distributor for our Lingxi beverage. In his dreams! And he tried to tempt me with returning to the Lin Family? Does he think I’m a three-year-old, that easy to fool? Even if I did go back to the Lin Family, how much of the Huanyu Group’s shares would I get? If we stick with our son-in-law, half the fortune belongs to our Ruoxi!”

Hua Yao looked at Lin Xinghe with an approving gaze. ”Xinghe, you’re right. We’re not going back to the Lin Family. Isn’t it so much more pleasant working with our son-in-law? What kind of life did we have in the Lin Family? We were treated like dirt every day! It’s so much more motivating to work on our own family’s business!”

Lin Xinghe’s mood suddenly grew somber. He sighed. ”It feels good now, but if we can’t return to the clan and be recognized by our ancestors, I’m afraid we won’t be able to be buried in the ancestral graves when we’re old. Then, we’ll just be wandering, lonely ghosts.”

Hua Yao comforted him in a gentle voice, ”Xinghe, we should have faith in our son-in-law. I believe that one day, he’ll grow into a titan that the Lin Family can only look up to! When that time comes, the Lin Family will probably have to beg us on their knees to come back! They might even scramble to pass the position of Patriarch to you.”

Lin Xinghe’s eyes lit up. ”Then we have to work even harder! We need to help our son-in-law grow strong as quickly as possible!”

...

「Lin Ruoxi’s Office.」

Cheng Yuan asked gently, ”Ruoxi, haven’t you decided on a distributor for the Provincial City yet?”

”Not yet. The power dynamics in the Provincial City are complicated. No matter which family we choose, we’ll offend the others. It’s giving me a bit of a headache.”

”Oh? Which families are interested?”

”All of the top-ranking prominent families in the Provincial City have expressed interest, except for the Hu Family.”

’So only the Hu Family is unwilling to be a distributor for the Lingxi beverage?’

Cheng Yuan’s expression became a little unnatural. ’It seems the Hu Family is still holding a grudge about me breaking off the engagement with Hu Shishi.’

To be honest, Hu Shishi had been very good to Cheng Yuan, treating him with utmost sincerity.

But matters of the heart were about timing. He already had Lin Ruoxi, so he could only let down Hu Shishi’s sincere feelings.

Cheng Yuan knew how to be grateful. When he was still weak, it was the Hu Family that helped him through difficult times. It was also the Hu Family that designated him as a successor and gave him abundant Cultivation resources.

He had wronged Hu Shishi and was indebted to the Hu Family.

’Since I can’t give Hu Shishi a proper place by my side, I’ll just have to compensate the Hu Family in other ways.’

”Ruoxi, I plan to give the Provincial City distributor spot to the Hu Family. Do you have any objections?”

Lin Ruoxi smiled. ”Of course not. If the Hu Family is the distributor for the Provincial City, they can definitely keep the other families in line with ease. Then my troubles would be over.”

”Then I’ll make a trip to the Hu Family right now.”

Cheng Yuan called for a driver from the motor pool, got into a Mercedes-Benz, and headed straight for the Hu Family estate.

Arriving at the Hu Family estate once again, Cheng Yuan couldn’t help but feel a wave of emotion.

The last time he came to the Hu Family, he was a pitiful wretch seeking shelter.

But now, he had grown into a towering tree. He no longer needed the Hu Family’s protection; in fact, his shade was now vast enough to cover the Hu Family itself.

Cheng Yuan took a deep breath. No matter how the Hu Family felt about him, this was something he had to face.

The guards at the gate saw Cheng Yuan, and their gazes turned a little strange. However, Cheng Yuan was, after all, a designated successor of the Hu Family, so the guards didn’t dare to be disrespectful. They greeted him politely, ”Greetings, Young Master Cheng!”

Cheng Yuan nodded slightly and strode through the gates of the Hu Family estate.

Housekeeper Niu Fu had been informed and hurried over to greet him. ”Young Master Cheng, why didn’t you let this old servant know you were coming? Have you run out of your share of medicinal herbs? The master has already given instructions. From now on, Young Master Cheng is to receive the Hu Family’s highest treatment, and your share of medicinal herbs will be doubled.”

Cheng Yuan couldn’t help but sigh. The better Hu Yidao treated him, the more he blamed himself.

”Housekeeper Niu, who is in charge of the Hu Family’s business matters?”

”That would be the Matriarch.”

”Take me to see the Matriarch.”

”Yes!”

Led by Niu Fu, Cheng Yuan headed straight for the inner courtyard, arriving at Hu Yidao’s personal residence.

Hu Yidao’s wife was named Song Yujun. She controlled the Hu Family’s finances and was in charge of the Hu Group.

At that moment, Song Yujun was having lunch with Hu Yidao.

When she was informed of Cheng Yuan’s arrival, Song Yujun’s expression darkened. ”Old Hu! Cheng Yuan hurt Shishi so badly, and he even broke off the engagement! How does he still have the face to come to our Hu Family? You have to teach that heartless little bastard a good lesson today!”

Hu Yidao also felt heartbroken for his daughter, but he was a man, after all, and more rational.

”Yujun, Shishi said that Cheng Yuan didn’t know about her sacrifices. If you’re going to blame someone, blame me! I shouldn’t have tried to play matchmaker when I knew full well he was already married!”

”My poor Shishi! SOB, SOB, SOB...”

”Yujun...”

Song Yujun was crying so heartbrokenly that Hu Yidao was completely distraught. His entire focus was on his wife, and he completely failed to notice their youngest son put down his bowl and chopsticks and walk out with a dark expression!

Hu Yidao’s youngest son was named Hu Minjiang. He had absolutely no talent for the Martial Dao.

Therefore, Hu Yidao and Song Yujun had sent him abroad to study finance, hoping he could inherit the Hu Group in the future.

A week ago, Hu Minjiang had graduated and returned to the country.

As soon as he returned to the Hu Family, Hu Minjiang heard the terrible news: his most beloved sister was terminally ill!

And he heard that the one who had caused his sister to fall into this state was a man named Cheng Yuan!

’I have to kill Cheng Yuan! I will avenge my sister!’

As Hu Minjiang reached the entrance of the small courtyard, he happened to run into Cheng Yuan and Niu Fu.

Hu Minjiang glared at Cheng Yuan. ’This pretty boy is actually good-looking. No wonder he was able to trick my sister and steal her heart!’

’But no matter what, you never should have hurt my sister, and you definitely shouldn’t have broken off the engagement when she was at her weakest!’

”Cheng Yuan! I’ll kill you!”

Hu Minjiang roared and lunged madly at Cheng Yuan!
