The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 335: Chapter 335: I Have Something Very Important to Tell You

Lin Ruoxi felt her heart seize in spasms, as if ten thousand ants were gnawing away at it!

Cheng Yuan was also stunned by Hu Minjiang’s words.

”Minjiang, what nonsense are you talking about? I was indeed injured in Beijing, but the one who saved me was the Medicine Valley Saintess, Nangong Zihan. What does this have to do with Sister Shishi?”

Hu Minjiang said coldly, ”That was a lie my sister made up so you wouldn’t feel burdened! If you don’t believe me, ask your brothers! Who was it that really saved you?”

Cheng Yuan immediately pulled out his phone and dialed Duan Yanming’s number. The call connected quickly, and a hearty voice came through.

”Third Brother, what’s up?”

”Second Brother, you have to tell me the truth. Who was it that really saved me? Was it Sister Shishi?”

Duan Yanming was silent for more than ten seconds before sighing. ”Third Brother, I have never seen a woman as devoted as Miss Hu.”

Cheng Yuan’s mind buzzed, feeling as if it were about to explode!

’How could this be?’

’The one who saved him really was Sister Shishi!’

”Second Brother, Shishi doesn’t know any medical arts. How did she save me?”

”A Tripod Furnace. To save you, Miss Hu willingly became a Tripod Furnace to channel the Nangong Saintess’s Celestial Doctor True Essence.”

Cheng Yuan’s expression changed instantly!

’A Tripod Furnace?’

Nangong Zihan’s Celestial Doctor True Essence was greatly beneficial to men, but it was extremely harmful to women! It could even be life-threatening!

’How could Sister Shishi be so foolish?’

Cheng Yuan asked with difficulty, ”Second Brother, how did Sister Shishi transfer the Celestial Doctor True Essence into my body?”

”There’s only one way. You’re a doctor; you should understand better than I do.”

Cheng Yuan fell silent for a long time, then grabbed his hair in agony.

’Oh my god!’

’How did it turn out like this?’

’Sister Shishi made such a huge sacrifice for him, yet he was so eager to break off their engagement!’

’If their roles were reversed, if he were Hu Shishi, he probably wouldn’t even have the will to live, would he?’

”Second Brother, thank you for telling me the truth.”

Duan Yanming sighed. ”Miss Hu cares a lot about your feelings, and she’s a very proud woman! She didn’t want you to choose her out of guilt! That’s why she begged us to keep it a secret! But, you know, I’m a romantic at heart. I can’t bear to see a woman suffer such an injustice.”

”I understand.”

”Make some time to visit Miss Hu at Medicine Valley. I’m hanging up now. I’ll send you the directions to Medicine Valley in a bit.”

”Okay, thank you, Second Brother.”

Cheng Yuan hung up and looked at Hu Minjiang with a complicated expression. He finally understood why Hu Minjiang held so much hostility toward him.

’If it were him in Hu Minjiang’s shoes, he would probably have reacted even more fiercely, wouldn’t he?’

Cheng Yuan spoke with sincerity. ”Minjiang, I really didn’t know the truth before. Now that I do, I know I’ve wronged Sister Shishi. I’ve wronged the Hu Family. I’ll do everything I can to make it up to them!”

Hearing Cheng Yuan’s apology, Hu Minjiang could no longer hold it together and burst into tears.

”How can you make it up to her? Can you give my sister the official status she deserves?”

Hearing this, Lin Ruoxi, who was hiding around the corner, showed a flicker of panic. She held her breath, terrified of hearing an answer she didn’t want to hear.

Before learning the truth, Cheng Yuan would have refused without a second thought. He already had Lin Ruoxi, so how could he give Sister Shishi official status?

But now, Cheng Yuan hesitated.

After a full five seconds of silence, Cheng Yuan suddenly looked up and stared intently at Hu Minjiang. ”I can give Sister Shishi a proper title! I’ll go to Medicine Valley to find her as soon as possible!”

Lin Ruoxi stumbled, nearly falling. Her body slumped weakly against the wall as she pressed a hand hard against her mouth to stifle any sound. Two streams of silent tears streamed down her face.

After spending this time together, she had already fallen in love with Cheng Yuan. She had decided that they would become a real husband and wife.

’But why was fate being so cruel to her?’

’Was she going to lose Cheng Yuan?’

Lin Ruoxi felt her chest tighten, the heartache so intense she could barely breathe.

And yet, Lin Ruoxi couldn’t bring herself to blame Hu Shishi.

After all, Hu Shishi had sacrificed everything to save Cheng Yuan.

Lin Ruoxi only hated that she wasn’t the one who had saved him.

Cheng Yuan’s answer made Hu Minjiang’s expression soften slightly. He had misunderstood Cheng Yuan. The man did have some conscience after all; he was worthy of his sister’s love.

Hu Minjiang said in great pain, ”Cheng Yuan, the reason I told you the truth wasn’t to actually make you give my sister a title! My sister only has two months left to live. Don’t disturb her. Just let her live out the rest of her days in peace.”

”Minjiang, you may not know me very well, but my greatest skill isn’t the Martial Dao, it’s medicine! I’m an incredible doctor. There’s no illness I can’t cure! There’s no one I can’t save! I can definitely save Shishi!”

”If you can save my sister, I’ll even accept her becoming your concubine.”

Cheng Yuan didn’t reply. There was no way he could answer that.

Lin Ruoxi wiped her tears and quietly returned to her private room.

The distributors started making toasts again.

Before, Lin Ruoxi would refuse drinks whenever she could, and only take a small sip when she couldn’t.

But now, Lin Ruoxi accepted every toast. No matter who proposed one, she would drain her glass, giving the distributors plenty of face.

The atmosphere was excellent!

Only Lin Ruoxi herself knew that she was just forcing a smile while her heart was bleeding.

Only by numbing herself with alcohol could she lessen her pain, even just a little.

Meanwhile, Cheng Yuan’s mind was also in turmoil. He was in no mood to drink with the rich playboys. After briefly discussing the terms, he quickly signed the distribution agreement and took his leave.

When Cheng Yuan arrived at Lin Ruoxi’s private room, she was already a little dazed from the alcohol but was still relentlessly toasting the distributors.

Lin Ruoxi’s assistant was extremely worried but could do nothing.

Upon seeing Cheng Yuan, the assistant finally breathed a sigh of relief. ”Chairman Cheng, President Lin has had too much to drink...”

Cheng Yuan nodded slightly, walked over to Lin Ruoxi’s side, and chided her in a gentle tone, ”Ruoxi, why have you drunk so much?”

”What’s it to you?! I’ll drink if I want to! Come on! Everyone, let’s keep drinking!”

Cheng Yuan snatched the glass from her hand and scanned the room. ”Everyone, I do apologize, but my Ruoxi is drunk. We’ll be leaving now. Allow me to offer a toast to you all.”

Cheng Yuan raised his glass, drained it in one go, and then took Lin Ruoxi’s hand, leading her out.

”I’m not drunk! Cheng Yuan! Let go of me! I want to keep drinking!!”

Lin Ruoxi struggled violently, trying to break free from Cheng Yuan’s strong grip.

Cheng Yuan swiftly scooped her up, one arm under her knees and the other around her waist, carrying her in his arms. He strode out of the private room, entered the elevator, and headed straight for the underground parking garage.

Lin Ruoxi struggled desperately, her small fists pounding relentlessly on Cheng Yuan’s chest.

She even bit down hard on his arm!

Cheng Yuan bore it all silently. Though he hadn’t initiated it, and had in fact only just learned of the matter himself, he had still, in effect, done something that deeply wronged Lin Ruoxi.

By the time they reached the underground parking garage, Lin Ruoxi had stopped struggling. Her stunningly beautiful face was pressed against Cheng Yuan’s chest, her eyes vacant as she quietly listened to the beat of his heart.

Sensing that Lin Ruoxi had calmed down, Cheng Yuan braced himself and said, ”Ruoxi, I have something very important to tell you. No matter what you decide, I won’t blame you.”
