Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 350: Chapter 191: A Sudden Interference

A small company valued at just a billion dares to ask for 2.5 billion!

Justus Spencer no longer wanted to buy this company. He smiled and nodded, ”Alright, I’ll go back and ask.”

After saying this, he hung up the phone.

Luke Stern hadn’t finished speaking on the other end when he saw Justus hang up and immediately called back.

But Justus no longer wanted to answer his call.

Luke Stern felt a bit apprehensive for a moment.

After all, although there were two companies interested in buying his company, none had made a firm decision. Was he getting cocky too soon?

He was indeed getting ahead of himself...

Luke Stern frustratedly knocked his forehead.

His high-level manager asked him anxiously, ”Boss, what’s the matter?”

Luke Stern frowned and said, ”I asked you to investigate AI Vision Promise Corporation’s background, have you done that?”

”I did. AI Vision Promise is an AI company founded this year by a master’s graduate from Yanda’s computer science department. Although it’s a new company, it started with a one hundred million angel investment from SSA Private Equity Fund.”

He told Luke Stern all the information available in the market about AI Vision Promise.

Luke Stern wasn’t too familiar with SSA Private Equity, only knowing it was an investment fund. He muttered, ”So AI Vision Promise only has a hundred million? How can they offer twenty billion to buy my company?”

”Boss, that’s not how it works,” said the high-level manager, who was specially poached from an investment bank for the purpose of selling the company, possessing extensive knowledge of financing and capital operations.

He quickly explained to Luke Stern, ”When it comes to acquiring companies, very few use their own cash to buy; they all take bank loans.”

”If AI Vision Promise dares to offer, they must have a bank credit certification, so you don’t need to worry about that.”

Luke Stern suddenly understood, ”So that’s how it is. That’s good.”

”But AI Vision Promise is still a new company. Its credit certification can’t possibly be stronger than Victory Wise, can it? At least Victory Wise has the Spencer Group behind it...” he muttered, still not entirely trusting of AI Vision Promise.

His subordinate smiled and said, ”You’re right, AI Vision Promise indeed doesn’t compare to Victory Wise in this regard, so our true target is still Victory Wise. But AI Vision Promise stepping in is more beneficial than harmful to us.”

Luke Stern finally got it, smiling, he said, ”I understand now, AI Vision Promise is the leverage for our price! Otherwise, our price wouldn’t have doubled!”

”That’s exactly the reason. So you don’t need to rush, at the very least, we can get twenty billion. We definitely won’t sell for ten billion anymore.”

...

Justus Spencer was in a hurry to return to the Southern Region for a board meeting. He immediately called Summer Spencer and asked her, ”Have you found Joyce Shaw’s grandmother and fiancée?”

Summer Spencer said irritably, ”Joyce’s grandmother is nowhere to be found, and now even his fiancée is missing. Big brother, do we need to keep looking? I think we’re wasting our time!”

”But if this matter isn’t handled properly, it’s a ticking time bomb. Who knows when it will explode...” Justus Spencer said, agitatedly adjusting his tie.

Summer Spencer was about to complain further when Spring Spencer, sitting across from her, couldn’t take it anymore. He grabbed the phone from her and said calmly, ”Big brother, this is the end of it. We don’t need to keep looking for Joyce’s family.”

”Then what if Joyce’s grandmother stirs things up on Weibo again?!” Justus Spencer said angrily, ”Do you get happy seeing me in trouble?”

Spring Spencer was also angry and raised his voice, ”Of course! How could I not be happy seeing you in trouble?! But if you’re in trouble, Spencer Group is also in trouble. How does that benefit me?! Stop obsessing over this and let it go. I’ll handle the aftermath.”

”What will you do? Summer said she couldn’t find them, can you?” Justus Spencer’s heart skipped a beat, knowing that Spring Spencer’s mother’s family, the Harlow Family, had considerable influence in certain circles—was it possible...

Before he could elaborate, Spring Spencer interrupted his fantasy with a single sentence, ”Since Joyce’s grandmother is stirring things up on Weibo, we’ll also go on Weibo and directly tag her, saying that we’re willing to offer a huge compensation to support her in her old age. Wouldn’t that settle it? If she continues to make a fuss, it’ll backfire on her in no time.”

Justus Spencer was taken aback, ”It could work like this? Just throw money at it?”

”If you could just throw money at the problem, you’d already have won over ninety-nine percent of bosses.” Spring Spencer said calmly, ”Joyce’s death was just a traffic accident. Doing this is already exceedingly generous.”

Justus Spencer pursed his lips, knowing it wasn’t just a traffic accident, but no one else knew that.

Joyce’s grandmother probably didn’t know either.

If she did, she wouldn’t be just stirring things up on Weibo, she’d directly sue our company.

Thinking this through, Justus Spencer sighed in relief and said, ”Alright then, quickly help Summer settle this, I’ll head back to the Southern Region first.”

...

After Justus left, Spring Spencer followed their plan. Using Victory Wise Corporation’s official blog, he first expressed regret and apologized to Joyce’s grandmother, claiming Joyce was an outstanding employee of Victory Wise, whose death from a car accident was due to excessive overtime, acknowledging it was their fault.

Simultaneously, Victory Wise offered Joyce’s grandmother a huge compensation, promising to support her in her old age, and even contacted an upscale retirement community, reserving a retirement apartment for her, assuring they would cover everything.

As long as Joyce’s grandmother stayed there, Victory Wise would pay for her stay, including medical and living expenses—all covered by Victory Wise.

As soon as Victory Wise Corporation’s official blog released this Weibo post, netizens began to dig up the past story.

When they discovered that before Joyce’s death, he had already been in a car accident due to excessive overtime and lack of sleep, resulting in fatigue driving, they almost instantly believed Spring Spencer’s blog post.

If Joyce’s grandmother refused to accept it and continued to ’sell her misery’ on Weibo, public opinion would definitely tilt towards Victory Wise and the Spencer Group.
