Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 319: Chapter 177: I’ve Read Too Many Books for You to Fool Me (Second Update, 600+ Monthly Tickets)

Justus Spencer felt a blackout in front of his eyes, his mind was dizzy, ”What, what? Say that again?! Who killed who?!”

As he said this, he was thinking, damn it, if this gets leaked online by some marketing account, the reputation Spencer Group just managed to restore will be in ruins.

The CEO of Victory Wise quickly recounted the situation with the police and Kenneth Osborne’s phone call.

Justus Spencer finally understood and immediately shouted, ”What?! Joyce Shaw is dead? What about his project?!”

The CEO of Victory Wise was taken aback, thinking that at a time like this, you’re still worried about Joyce Shaw’s project?

However, recalling that Thomas had the same reaction earlier, the CEO couldn’t help but think that this proves Justus Spencer really did invite an expert back from overseas. Looking at their identical thought processes, it’s like people from the same family... entering the same home...

He felt a chill run down his spine.

An employee who worked so diligently is dead, and it involved a murder between company employees. Yet, as the head of the main company, he doesn’t care about the life and death of the employees at all.

Is this the future boss of Spencer Group?

Is it worth working oneself to the bone for such a person?

The CEO of Victory Wise used to be a key mid-level manager at Spencer Group before coming to Victory Wise as the top executive to further his career.

Seeing Justus Spencer only care about projects and not about the life and death of employees made him truly disheartened. He said, ”Mr. Spencer, this is due to my poor management. I take responsibility and resign today. Please find someone else to manage Victory Wise Corporation. I will send my resignation letter shortly.”

With that, the CEO of Victory Wise hung up the phone, unwilling to continue the conversation with Justus Spencer.

Justus Spencer was stunned for a moment, also very angry, thinking you cause such a big mess, and a resignation is all you have to say?

However, he didn’t have time to pursue this right now. He just wanted to sort out the acquisition first; otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to make amends at the board meeting.

He called Thomas, but he couldn’t get through.

Thomas seemed to be on a call with someone else.

While Justus Spencer was anxious, the Public Relations Director of Spencer Group stationed in the north called him.

”Mr. Spencer! There’s a major issue! Victory Wise Corporation has already been sealed by the police, and even the company’s computers have been taken away!”

Justus Spencer finally realized another issue he hadn’t considered when the CEO of Victory Wise mentioned it earlier, and now he angrily said, ”What?! How dare they do that?! Find someone, find connections, and make sure to get those computers back immediately! The company must be unsealed right away!”

The Director of Spencer Group’s PR department was quite helpless and said, ”Mr. Spencer, this isn’t a simple case. This is a criminal case! — No matter how high the connections, can they meddle in a criminal case?”

”How do you know if you don’t try?!” Justus Spencer impatiently pounded the table, ”I didn’t make you PR Director to read gossip on Weibo every day!”

The PR Director, appointed after Summer Spencer was kicked out of the PR department, blushed furiously and hurriedly said, ”Rest assured, Mr. Spencer, I’ll immediately find someone!”

Justus Spencer snorted, saying, ”I’ll be there soon; this must be resolved quickly!”

He was sweating in his palms. Just as the company was about to announce a major acquisition, such a thing happened. How could this be?!

If those old geezers at the board find out, the good reputation he’s accumulated over the years will be completely tarnished by this!

At this point, Justus Spencer couldn’t help but think that a half-hearted attempt will always be half-hearted.

In hindsight, he should have spared no expense to keep Kenneth Osborne instead of settling for someone not as capable as Kenneth—Joyce Shaw.

Now the project isn’t completed, and Shaw is gone, leaving a mess behind, and where could he, the CEO, go to complain? — Always giving him problems and making his life difficult!

Justus Spencer gritted his teeth in resentment.

While instructing his secretary to book a plane ticket, he continued trying to call Thomas.

Half an hour later, Thomas’s phone finally got through.

Justus Spencer cut straight to the point, asking urgently, ”Thomas, what on earth happened? How did Joyce Shaw suddenly die? Is the project finished?!”

He still harbored a glimmer of hope, wishing that Joyce Shaw had completed the project before the incident.

Thomas was also upset, roaring, ”Mr. Spencer! You can’t ignore this! The police in your country sealed our company! And they took our computers! These are our company’s commercial secrets! They can’t do that! If there’s a leak, we could suffer huge losses?!”
