Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 317: Chapter 176: Leave Professional Matters to the Professionals (Part 2)

In half an hour, over a hundred students had registered, almost everyone in their master’s program in computer science.

The central hall was obviously insufficient, so Blake Leaf booked the main hall and completed the task.

He went to Kenneth Osborne’s office and reported, ”Mr. Osborne, more than a hundred classmates just registered to come. I’ve changed the reservation to the main hall of the funeral home.”

Kenneth Osborne responded with a ”Hmm” and glanced at the list that Blake Leaf had passed him.

Blake Leaf didn’t seem ready to leave, sitting opposite Kenneth Osborne with a troubled expression, and asked, ”Mr. Osborne, what’s really going on? I remember Joyce Shaw recently had a car accident?”

”I’m not entirely sure,” Kenneth Osborne said in a deep voice, ”I got a call, and he was already being resuscitated in the hospital.”

”What? How did this happen? Who was the driver at fault?” Blake Leaf became angry, ”We can’t just let this go!”

”It’s said there were two drivers, one died on the spot, and the other fled,” Kenneth Osborne said lightly, ”I will follow up on this matter, hoping the police can give us an answer.”

”They must!” Blake Leaf said angrily, ”Although I wasn’t very close with Joyce Shaw, we did have meals together several times. He was such a good person, and still so young, how could he just be gone?”

”The unexpected always happens,” Kenneth Osborne leaned back in his chair and said indifferently, ”Anything else?”

”No, I just wanted to know what’s really going on. Sigh... And what about ’Madam Crazy’?” Blake Leaf thought of Joyce Shaw’s fiancée, ’Madam Crazy,’ because he was very familiar with ’Sister Three Billion,’ and ’Madam Crazy’ was Sister Three Billion’s roommate. In fact, Blake Leaf was more familiar with ’Madam Crazy’ than with Joyce Shaw.

”Nora temporarily took ’Madam Crazy’ to stay at her house. She certainly can’t be left alone now,” Kenneth Osborne rubbed his temples with a slight headache.

Blake Leaf quickly nodded and said, ”I’ll go tell Sister Three Billion to visit ’Madam Crazy’ when she has time. They used to be the best of friends.”

Sister Three Billion and ’Madam Crazy’ lived together for four years, while Lawrence Winters only lived there for half a year. In terms of closeness, Sister Three Billion indeed had the closest relationship with ’Madam Crazy.’

Kenneth Osborne thought this was a good idea and praised, ”That would be helpful.”

”No problem! No problem!” Blake Leaf laughed, ”I’ll call Sister Three Billion right away!”

He dashed out of Kenneth Osborne’s office with a much lighter demeanor.

Kenneth Osborne: ”...”

He lowered his head expressionlessly, took out Joyce Shaw’s business card, and began calling Joyce Shaw’s company.

Joyce Shaw worked at Victory Wise Corporation, a wholly-owned company under the Spencer Group, but it had its own independent management.

He first called the COO of Victory Wise, who was also their CEO, leaving a message, ”Is this the CEO of Victory Wise Corporation? I’m a friend and relative of your company’s technical director, Joyce Shaw. I wanted to inform you that Joyce Shaw passed away in a car accident this morning. Before he died, he had called the police, saying that two people were pursuing him, and those two people were your equipment manager, Harrison Saunders, and office assistant, Mary Palmer. As his friend and relative, I will pursue this matter to the end.”

The CEO of Victory Wise was initially not going to answer the unknown number.

Unexpectedly, after hearing the message, his face turned pale with fright. He immediately picked up the phone and said, ”Hello, I am the CEO of Victory Wise Corporation, what did you say? Joyce Shaw is dead?! And he was chased by our company’s employees?! —You can’t make such reckless accusations; you can’t just slander people!”

Kenneth Osborne frowned and said unhappily, ”When have I ever slandered anyone? I’m only repeating the words from the police report. If you accuse me of slander, I will sue you for defamation.”

”That’s impossible!” The CEO of Victory Wise flatly denied, ”Harrison Saunders and Mary Palmer are indeed our employees, but they have always been honest and diligent workers, just like Director Shaw, they are all valued employees of our company, how could they...”

”How could they? You’re asking me? Isn’t that a question you should be asking?” Kenneth Osborne finally sneered, ”What kind of CEO are you? If you believe Harrison Saunders and Mary Palmer didn’t do such a heinous thing, you could have them come confront me!”

”Hang on! I’ll find them immediately!” Victory Wise’s CEO put down the phone, called his secretary in, and asked, ”Where are Harrison Saunders and Mary Palmer?”

The secretary shook her head, ”I didn’t see them when I came in today, none of the three people from the technical department are in.”

The CEO of Victory Wise was sweating profusely from his forehead.

He grabbed a tissue to wipe the sweat from his forehead and quickly said, ”What about Thomas? Is he here?”
