Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 337: Chapter 185: The Grand Competition Scene (First Update)

Lawrence Winters tugged at the corner of her mouth, thinking these two were too theatrical.

She had clearly spoken just now, so even if she fell from the tenth floor, how could she really get hurt?

Is it trendy to leave your brain at home when visiting friends these days?

She rolled her eyes at Kenneth Osborne and said into the intercom, ”I’m fine, you guys can come up, my place is on the tenth floor.” Saying that, she enabled the elevator access.

Edward Foster and Lucas Harlow swiftly entered the elevator and pressed the button for the tenth floor.

The elevator stopped at the tenth floor.

In such luxurious apartments, the elevator often opens directly into the home.

Edward Foster was slightly surprised, thinking that Lawrence Winters actually lived in a luxurious apartment.

People who can live in these kinds of places obviously don’t have money issues.

Looks like Lawrence isn’t a Cinderella after all...

Lucas Harlow’s imagination wasn’t running as wild, he kept rubbing his phone, wanting to call his friend overseas.

That friend was his childhood buddy; they studied abroad together. The friend later went to medical school and has now become a neurosurgeon at a famous hospital abroad.

If he wanted medical resources, he could just send his friend a WeChat message.

While both were lost in thought, the elevator doors opened to reveal Lawrence Winters standing in the elevator lobby, smiling at them.

Edward Foster immediately snapped out of it, scanning Lawrence Winters up and down, surprised, ”...Did you really fall from the tenth floor? Are you kidding us?”

She looks the same as usual?

Lawrence Winters laughed and said, ”I did fall from the tenth floor, but there was an inflatable cushion downstairs, so I’m basically fine, just a bit of concussion.”

She pointed to her head and stepped aside to let them out of the elevator.

Edward Foster and Lucas Harlow both breathed a sigh of relief.

Lucas Harlow cautiously said, ”You can’t be too relaxed. I heard that falling from such a height, even with cushions, there’s a high chance of injury, like fractures or dislocations. A mild concussion is the least. And concussions can vary greatly; are you sure you had a full check-up? Do you need me to take you abroad for an examination?”

Lawrence Winters chuckled and said, ”That’s not necessary. Kenneth’s friend works at 456 Hospital. I stayed there one night for a full check-up. But the doctor said I still need to rest in bed for a week, so I’m continuing my leave.”

Upon hearing it’s the famous XXX Hospital in the Capital City, Edward Foster and Lucas Harlow felt relieved.

The standard at 456 Hospital is comparable to the best abroad, sometimes even better in certain aspects.

Lucas Harlow said with a smile, ”That’s great, 456 Hospital is hard to get into. Even for us, getting a bed there isn’t easy. You managed to stay there for a day; guess Kenneth’s friend really helped out.”

Lawrence Winters didn’t want to mention Francis Johnson, so she smiled and changed the subject, ”It’s just good luck. Please come in, gentlemen.”

She led Edward Foster and Lucas Harlow into her spacious living room.

Upon entering, she paused.

She saw the Daoist sitting on a single sofa with Nick Zeller and Kenneth Osborne standing behind him like a big shot and his trusted aides.

This setup...

Lawrence Winters tugged at the corner of her mouth and first said, ”Grandfather Master, Uncle, Kenneth, this is Edward Foster, my boss. This is the famous star Lucas Harlow! Now my signed artist.”

Then introduced to Edward Foster and Lucas Harlow: ”The old sage sitting there is my Grandfather Master. The distinguished middle-aged man standing behind him is my master and also my uncle. The other handsome young man is my Kenneth.”

Kenneth Osborne raised his eyebrows, glanced at her, and added his own introduction, ”Also Nora’s boyfriend.”

”What?!” Edward Foster almost jumped, ”Boyfriend?! Lawrence, since when did you have a boyfriend?! How come I didn’t know about this?!”

”You’re just Nora’s boss, managing work is fine, but managing a subordinate’s relationships too?” Kenneth Osborne said unceremoniously, somewhat displeased with Edward Foster’s domineering attitude.

He had introduced himself, yet Edward Foster dared to question Lawrence Winters — did he think Kenneth Osborne was dead?!

Lawrence Winters rubbed her temple, feeling a bit of a headache, and simply exclaimed, ”Ah, my head hurts... I need to lie down... you all continue chatting, I’m not joining you...”

She quickly ran to her bedroom, covering her face.

Did she look remotely uncomfortable?

Obviously they’re aware she’s just being sly, but none of them said anything.

Nick Zeller barely held back laughter but outwardly maintained his calm image and walked over to Edward Foster and Lucas Harlow, extending his hand for a handshake, ”Pleasure to meet you. Lawrence is honest; she’s been with me all along, seldom going outside. If she brings any inconvenience, please don’t mind.”
