Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 324: Chapter 178: Don’t Worry, I’ll Handle It (Third Update)_3

The former CEO of Victory Wise politely replied: Joyce Shaw had an incident, and my management was inadequate, so I resigned to take responsibility. If the police need any information, I am ready to cooperate at any time.

This reply instantly set off the microblog post on Joyce Shaw’s grandmother’s account.

The post manipulated by Lawrence Winters quickly soared to the top of the trending searches, earning countless tears from the public.

Meanwhile, the topic #SeverelyPunishTheCulprit, SpencerGroupIsGuilty# also climbed into the top ten trending searches.

Summer Spencer watched helplessly as what was initially a well-intentioned long post got distorted, with countless people beginning to criticize them, even Spencer Group’s advertisers were reluctant to cooperate.

The Director of Advertising and the Vice President in charge of marketing flew into a rage in the Southern Region, rushing to find their CEO, Justus Spencer, but he was on a plane at the time.

He wasn’t flying on a private jet; he was on a regular commercial flight where internet access was available but not very convenient and with intermittent speed.

Therefore, he didn’t check his phone after boarding the plane and instead took a nap.

When he landed and turned on his phone, numerous missed calls, messages, texts, WeChat, private messages, and mentions on Weibo poured in, virtually causing his phone to crash.

What on earth happened?

Justus Spencer’s heart sank, and he hurried to restart his phone.

After the phone rebooted, the first thing he saw were the calls and messages from the Vice President in charge of marketing and the Director of Advertising.

He listened to the messages first, and his face turned purple after hearing them.

He quickly called them back.

”Vice President Liu, what are you saying? Advertisers want to cancel contracts? How is that possible? If they’re not afraid of breaching the contract, go ahead and cancel them!”

”What? They would rather breach the contract? Are they out of their minds?”

...

Only after calling the Vice President and the Director of Advertising did Justus Spencer understand what had happened.

Opening Weibo, he saw the overwhelming negative news about Spencer Group and countless comments and topics demanding justice for Joyce Shaw, which made him start to panic.

He quickly called Summer Spencer.

”Summer! What are you doing?! Didn’t you use Victory Wise’s official account to post the Weibo?! Why are people giving Spencer Group a hard time? What does Joyce Shaw have to do with Spencer Group?” Justus Spencer complained very dissatisfied.

Summer Spencer was also full of grievances and angrily said, ”Of course, I used Victory Wise’s official account! How could I use Spencer Group’s official account? But that Joyce Shaw’s grandmother is utterly clueless, even tagging Spencer Group’s official account! Would it have blown up like this otherwise?”

”Grandmother? Joyce Shaw has a grandmother?” Justus Spencer asked in surprise, ”What about his parents? Why is it his grandmother in the spotlight?”

”Because he has long been without parents.” Summer Spencer was furious, ”So he’s just asking for it! Bringing trouble everywhere, and now causing us such a big mess!”

Only then did Justus Spencer realize the severity of the situation, hoarsely asking, ”...Your meaning is, he only has his grandmother left in his family?!”

Summer Spencer nodded, ”Yes, it’s troublesome; don’t you think it’s bizarre that his grandmother is still alive despite her age... she keeps causing trouble for us! Do you know how much we’ve lost in one day because of her Weibo?”

This comment reminded Justus Spencer, who thought of the advertiser issues earlier and said frustratedly, ”How could you be so careless? What do we do now?”

”What to do? I’ve already had my Weibo post deleted; hurry up and come over, I’m waiting for you to go to the police station together.” Summer Spencer said impatiently.

Justus Spencer sat in the special car that came to pick him up, constantly looking down at his phone.

On Weibo, other financial groups were already forming teams to watch Spencer Group’s fiasco. He was so angry his mouth was twisting out of shape, twitching from time to time, and finally, he couldn’t stand it, closed Weibo, and called Thomas.

”Thomas, did you see Weibo? This is problematic...” Justus Spencer recounted Joyce Shaw’s family situation and finally said, ”You have no idea; people in our country have a particular sympathy for families like this. This really stirred up a hornet’s nest.”

However, Thomas raised an eyebrow and said, ”Just one grandmother, and you’re afraid?—Solve the grandmother, and Joyce’s issues will be resolved.”

He had previously investigated Joyce Shaw, knowing that he only had an elderly, frail grandmother, with no other support, which was why he made Joyce work for him without reservation.

He didn’t expect this near-aging grandmother to dare to make waves.

He really misjudged.

Thomas sneered, ”Don’t worry, I’ll handle it for you.”
