Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 330: Chapter 181: First Kiss (Part 2)

He leaned in very, very close to her and said tenderly, ”I won’t take advantage of your weakness to harm you, I’ll only use it to win your heart.”

With that, he slowly lowered his head and lightly kissed her lips.

This was their first kiss, brief yet incredibly profound.

Lawrence Winters was so stiffened by his kiss that she couldn’t move her head, her blood seemed to freeze, and all she could hear was a buzzing in her ears.

Her vision even went black for moments, and there was a vague pricking pain at the back of her head, her fingertips tingling.

Lawrence couldn’t withstand the intense feeling, so she closed her eyes and fell asleep again.

Kenneth Osborne was also almost unable to control his excitement, but he didn’t want to show it in front of Lawrence.

He awkwardly sat down, pulled a blanket over himself, and rested a hand on his lips, which still seemed to bear the soft touch of Lawrence’s lips.

This feeling was what he had always dreamed of, and it was even better than he imagined.

So good that he wanted more and more of that feeling...

If he didn’t think about what Lawrence had just said, his feeling would definitely be even better.

He lost himself in thought for a moment, then looked down at Lawrence and found that she had already fallen asleep.

Was it... his kissing skills were so bad that she fell asleep from boredom?

Or... was it that his kiss exhilarated her so much that she fainted?

Kenneth believed she must have fainted.

...

In another hospital room, the crazy girl was also very excited.

After she woke up, she asked the doctor to perform a pregnancy test, and she just found out she was indeed pregnant!

The life force of this child was incredibly strong.

They had used protection every time...

Of course, condoms are not 100% effective, so it’s not uncommon for there to be ”slip-ups” occasionally.

She gently caressed her belly and vowed to give birth to the child and raise it herself.

This was the love child of her and Joyce Shaw.

Lawrence was right, she couldn’t die now; she still had many things to accomplish, parents to take care of, and now Joyce’s grandmother along with another child to raise.

Thinking this way, she recalled the scene when she saw Lawrence fall from the tenth floor.

At that moment, she was terrified, and it was that very moment that she suddenly lost the will to die.

Sometimes, when a person is in a deadlock, they can’t get out of it on their own.

You only need someone to open a new path for them, and perhaps in an instant, they will see a new direction and find their way out of the deadlock.

True friends are those who don’t give up on you even when you’re stuck and can’t see a way out.

The crazy girl sat up in bed, put on a coat, and slowly walked to Lawrence’s hospital room door.

Lawrence was still asleep, and Kenneth Osborne was sitting on a chair next to her, scrolling on his phone.

The scene was very comforting, and she silently prayed, hoping Lawrence and Kenneth would fall deeply in love and experience the beauty of love.

Beautiful things bring hope, not despair.

As she turned around, she saw Francis Johnson standing in the hospital corridor looking at her, with an elderly woman beside him.

She recognized this elderly woman as Joyce’s grandmother.

The crazy girl felt a lump in her throat and softly called, ”Grandma...”

Joyce’s grandmother slowly walked over, looking at her with surprise and joy, and said, ”Little Mandarin Duck, are you... pregnant with our Joyce’s child?”

The crazy girl burst into tears.

The name ”Little Mandarin Duck” was used by only her own parents and Joyce’s grandmother.

She nodded and choked, saying, ”Yes, but I don’t know how good the situation is. The doctor said I need to maintain the pregnancy...”

Joyce’s grandmother looked at her intently for a moment, sighed, and said, ”Good child, I know your heart, but Joyce is no longer here, and this child comes at the wrong time, so... let’s not keep it...”

As she spoke the last sentence, she too began to cry.

”No, I want to keep it.” The crazy girl held Joyce’s grandmother’s hand and said, ”If I didn’t know about this child, I wouldn’t be in this world now.”

Joyce’s grandmother, of course, couldn’t bear not having this child, but the crazy girl was still young, only twenty-two, and unmarried. The child’s father was already deceased. How difficult the future would be, she surely knew it well.

So Joyce’s grandmother cried for a while and still earnestly advised the crazy girl, ”Don’t keep it, this child still shouldn’t be kept. You’re only twenty-two. If Joyce were still alive, I would definitely support you having this child without hesitation...”

”Let her have it,” Francis Johnson spoke up, ”I will find the best doctors to maintain the pregnancy, don’t worry. When the child is born, I will help Joyce’s grandmother raise this child. The crazy girl can marry whomever she wants. This child will definitely not become a burden.”

The crazy girl was furious upon hearing this, and she retorted angrily, ”This is my child! I’ll raise it myself! What do you mean by that?!”

”I mean nothing else,” Francis Johnson said flatly, ”You’ll raise it, but do you think your parents would agree?”

The crazy girl was suddenly at a loss, thinking of her parents, and she felt a bit panicked.

Indeed, if her parents found out, they would definitely force her to have this child terminated immediately.

But how could she bear it?

This is her and Joyce’s child!

”...Child, don’t do something you’ll regret. I know you’re in love now, and you feel like you’re willing to give up everything to keep this child. But later, you’ll find out that being a single mother with a child isn’t easy. I won’t live much longer, and I can’t say I will help you with this child; that would be too selfish,” Joyce’s grandmother said with concern for the crazy girl despite her sadness.

Francis Johnson then said, ”Don’t worry about these things. Joyce is a martyr. Our country has excellent policies for the children of martyrs. From the time this child is born, until they grow up and even find a job, related departments will offer help, so you can rest assured.”

With Francis Johnson’s assurance, Joyce’s grandmother felt a bit more relieved, but she still felt especially sorry for the crazy girl.

The crazy girl quickly said, ”Grandma, you see, I’m fine. Even if I decide to marry someone else in the future, I won’t marry a man who won’t accept my child.”
