Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 327: Chapter 180: What Is Love in This World? (Second Update, for Your Darling Xuan’er Alliance Hierarch +)

The few people searched the big flat for a long time but couldn’t find any trace of the Mad Girl.

Nick Zeller then slapped his forehead and said, ”Forgot to check the surveillance!”

Lawrence Winters widened his eyes and asked, ”Surveillance? There’s surveillance here?!”

”The surveillance downstairs, every resident in this building can view it.” Nick Zeller said as he ran to his room, turned on his computer, and opened the surveillance app.

They reviewed the surveillance from half an hour ago and quickly discovered the figure of the Mad Girl.

”She left the complex? And even called a car!” Lawrence Winters suddenly realized, ”She must have gone back to the apartment she rented with Joyce Shaw!”

Nick Zeller hurriedly said, ”I’ll take you to have a look.”

Lawrence Winters grabbed his coat and left, and the old Daoist also said, ”I should take a look too, what if something happens to the child...”

”Could you just shut up, Master Ancestor?!” Lawrence Winters was furious, ”You can’t say things like that carelessly!”

The old Daoist pursed his lips, ”Isn’t that what you’re all thinking? Otherwise, why would you be so anxious?”

”Thinking is one thing, saying is another! Don’t you know that?!” Lawrence Winters hurried into the elevator, followed quickly by the old Daoist and Nick Zeller.

Once they got out of the elevator, the three of them got into Nick Zeller’s car and drove towards the apartment rented by Joyce Shaw and the Mad Girl.

The apartment of Joyce Shaw and the Mad Girl was located outside the Fourth Ring Road, close to the Fifth Ring, some distance from where Lawrence Winters currently lived.

However, since it wasn’t peak hours now, there was no traffic, and they arrived in less than half an hour.

Lawrence Winters pushed open the car door, jumped out, and saw a crowd gathered on the open ground of the complex where Joyce Shaw and the Mad Girl lived, pointing and gesturing towards the sky.

Lawrence Winters followed their gaze upwards, saw the bright moonlight of the autumn night in Capital City, and under the dark blue sky, at a distance of ten stories high, a figure appeared in her sight, hanging on the balcony’s edge.

”...Oh no! Is it the Mad Girl?!” Lawrence Winters squinted in the direction of the floor, wishing she had a telescope to look.

Nick Zeller also raised his head to look for a while, surprised, ”It’s the Mad Girl, right? Does she really not want to live anymore?”

Lawrence Winters felt tight in her chest and said to Nick Zeller, ”Uncle, hurry and call the police! Get the firefighters to bring an air cushion! I’ll go up and check first!”

With that, she also ran into the building.

The old Daoist instantly panicked and followed her, saying, ”Don’t go! Don’t go! It’s dangerous!”

He closed his eyes briefly, and a blood-stained shadow suddenly flashed before him, causing his heart to sink, realizing it was not a good omen, and he felt worried.

But Lawrence Winters didn’t listen to him at all and was already about to enter the elevator.

The old Daoist had no choice but to follow into the elevator.

Lawrence Winters urgently pressed the elevator buttons, feeling that the elevator was too slow.

Finally, arriving at the tenth floor, she rushed out of the elevator, quickly locating the door of the apartment rented by Joyce Shaw and the Mad Girl.

She pushed the door and found that it wasn’t locked.

Lawrence Winters breathed a sigh of relief, immediately pushed the door open, and went straight through the living room to the balcony.

The Mad Girl’s hair was disheveled; she had already climbed over the balcony and was standing at the edge outside, her arms reaching backward to hold onto the balcony railing.

This was a high-rise, ten stories tall, and if she let go, she would drift down like a butterfly...

Lawrence Winters’ heart was in her throat; she opened her mouth but didn’t dare to shout too loudly, fearing her voice might not reach the Mad Girl.

Anxious, when she opened her mouth, her voice was gentle and soft, almost unlike how she usually spoke.

The old Daoist inadvertently glanced at her.

Lawrence Winters was completely unaware as she anxiously said to the Mad Girl, ”Mad Girl? Mad Girl, don’t scare me... Come down, let’s go home and have dinner together.”

The Mad Girl slowly turned her head to look at her.

Under the moonlight, her face was snow white, her lips devoid of color, and she appeared utterly haggard.

She said firmly, ”Dinner? Joyce isn’t back yet. I’m learning how to cook, waiting for him to come back; I’ll cook for him...”

Lawrence Winters felt a pang in her heart and said softly, ”Alright, come down first. I just bought some groceries, and we’ll cook together, waiting for Joyce to come back, alright?”

The Mad Girl still gazed at her intently, after a while, she slightly curled the corners of her lips and said softly, ”Don’t deceive me, I know Joyce won’t come back, never coming back... What’s the point of me living?!”

”The greatest joy of my life was meeting him. He gave me love and happiness I never imagined. He’s gone, and with him, he’s taken the meaning of my life.”

”Lawrence, you haven’t been in love, you wouldn’t understand.”
