Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 334: Chapter 183: You’d Be a Fool to Listen to Me

The sister of the madman tried taking a spoonful, sipped it in her mouth, and immediately made a ”mmm mmm” sound, saying, ”Delicious! Really delicious!”

She even forgot about the porridge, first polishing off the bowl of steamed minced pork with water, only then did she start eating the porridge and boiled sea cucumber.

”Lawrence, your mom’s cooking is amazing,” the sister of the madman couldn’t stop praising, ”I want to learn to cook in the future. When my baby is born, I will make the steamed pork for them too.”

”Mmm mmm! I’ll have my mom write down the recipe for you.” Lawrence Winters flashed a proud smile, ”When I was little and wanted to eat this, I would deliberately pretend to have no appetite, and then my mom would make the steamed pork for me!”

The sister of the madman showed the first genuinely relaxed smile since Joyce Shaw passed away.

No longer out of politeness, nor forced laughter.

Lawrence Winters observed her quietly and saw that her face had regained vitality, which finally allowed him to breathe a sigh of relief.

Previously, somehow, their fate lines entangled, causing him to not see clearly the faces and future of the sister of the madman and Joyce Shaw for a while.

Only after falling from the tenth floor that day, they became ”untied.”

Now he finally understood what that ”entanglement” meant.

He silently prayed for Joyce Shaw in his heart, planning to light a perpetual lamp for him at the temple after his body recuperated.

”When will you be discharged from the hospital, sister of the madman?” Lawrence Winters sat beside her to keep her company.

As she drank porridge, the sister of the madman said, ”I have to protect the fetus, Mr. Zhao said he would help me find a doctor for proper conditioning.”

After speaking, she apologized a bit, ”I probably won’t be able to stay at your place anymore.”

Lawrence Winters was slightly taken aback and quickly said, ”But how can you manage by yourself? You’re still expecting, should we bring your mom and dad over?”

”No no.” The sister of the madman quickly waved her hand and whispered, ”Please don’t tell my parents, okay? Wait until some time later...”

She’s planning on acting first and informing later.

Lawrence Winters sighed, saying, ”Have you really thought this through? Don’t act on a whim.”

”I’m not acting on impulse; I’ve genuinely thought it through.” The sister of the madman said seriously, ”I also won’t give up on my career.”

”But have you considered the challenges of raising a child alone?” Lawrence Winters said calmly, ”I read in a book that a newborn needs to eat ten times a day, roughly every two hours, and then you have to change diapers. You won’t have your own life, when the baby eats, you have to feed them, and when the baby sleeps, you have to sleep too.”

”From when the baby is born until they grow up, you’ll have a year of sleepless nights because you’ll have to feed them on schedule.”

”If someone can help you, you can take turns. But if it’s just you, it’ll be overwhelming.”

The sister of the madman was taken aback, gritting her teeth as she said, ”It’s just a year, I’ll get through it.”

”That’s just the first year, then as the child grows a bit, you’ll have to talk to them, take them out for walks, enroll them in early education classes. Do you know how much a session costs?”

The sister of the madman shook her head blankly, ”... There’s also early education classes?”

”A famous teacher’s early education class costs five to six thousand per session.” Lawrence Winters held up his palm, ”Of course you can skip it, but educational experts say you shouldn’t let your child fall behind right from the start line. Can you bear to let your precious fall behind?”

”After three years, they’ll need to go to kindergarten. A private kindergarten costs tens of thousands a year. And not to mention if they get sick and need to go to the hospital, can you handle it alone?”

”As the child grows older, they’ll need to go to school, primary, middle, then university. Do you have the tuition fees ready? Money for overseas vacations and summer camps during holidays, do you have that saved?”

”Having this child isn’t a simple matter of giving birth and then all is well.”

The sister of the madman’s eyes widened listening to Lawrence Winters.

She’s still in the stage of wanting to safely bring the child into the world, while Lawrence Winters has already thought about the stage of the child going to college.

The sister of the madman cupped her hands to Lawrence, ”I admire you. Lawrence, with such extensive knowledge reserve, you’re all set for motherhood, I’m not even as prepared as you.”

”Tch, I just read a lot.” Lawrence Winters pointed to his head, smiling as he said, ”Can’t help but remember a lot of book knowledge, don’t let it scare you, I’m just a paper strategist, you’d be fooled if you listen to me.”

”No, what you said makes a lot of sense. I need to think it over carefully.” The sister of the madman said as she put down the spoon and wiped her mouth with a napkin, ”I’ll do my best, if it’s not possible...”

”If it’s not possible, you can leave the child with Mr. Zhao. After all, he has many connections and should find a good family to take care of the child.” Lawrence Winters shrugged, ”I’m very realistic, you know, I prefer being deceived emotionally than financially.”

The sister of the madman: ”...”

”What’s with your train of thought?” The sister of the madman couldn’t resist pinching her ear, ”Do girls usually sacrifice their lives for love, but to you, it’s not as important as money?”

”Ah, ptooey!” Lawrence Winters brushed off her hand, ”To me, my life is the most important, then money; after all, without life, what’s the use of money, right?”

”... I truly sympathize with Kenneth the Genius.” The sister of the madman sighed, ”But at least you two can still continue your playful bickering, while Joyce and I...”

Her mood fell again.

Lawrence Winters didn’t forcefully console her.

The grief of loss always takes time; truly having loved someone may indeed be different.

Lawrence Winters did not continue to disturb her, saying, ”I’m getting discharged today; let me know once you decide where you will stay.”

The sister of the madman nodded, ”Most likely I will be living with Joyce’s grandmother. Mr. Zhao said the house Joyce and I bought previously can’t be lived in anymore, so he’s helped sell it and bought a new one elsewhere. Once I’m well, I should be going to stay there.”

Lawrence Winters smiled, ”That’s good, we can all trust Mr. Zhao’s way of doing things, so take care of yourself; don’t forget to send me your address later.”

The sister of the madman agreed and saw him off as he left her hospital room.

After taking a walk, Lawrence Winters felt dizzy again.

He dared not walk fast, supporting himself along the wall as he slowly made his way back to his own hospital room.

Kenneth Osborne stood at the door of her hospital room, holding the phone while speaking to Blake Leaf.

He said in a deep voice, ”In the afternoon, spread the word that our ’AI Vision Promise’ also intends to acquire Wayford Intelligence.”

Wayford Intelligence was the small AI company where Joyce Shaw previously worked, which Victory Wise Corporation planned to acquire.
