Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 342: Chapter 187: The Grand Heartthrob现场 (Third Update)

Lucas Harlow said with a half-smile, ”Yeah, Lawrence wasn’t wrong. Young Master Foster, please have mercy and give us employees a break.”

Edward Foster glared at him and realized he was overreacting earlier. He changed his tone and said, ”Alright then, I won’t come to see you. Take care of your injury and I’ll see you at the office in a week.”

”Okay, thank you, Young Master Foster!” Lawrence Winters nodded slightly, trying not to shake his head too much.

Edward jabbed Lucas and said, ”Don’t you have contract matters to discuss with Lawrence? Why aren’t you speaking up?”

Lawrence Winters asked in surprise, ”Contract? What contract? Lucas, have you been signing contracts with others again?”

”Of course not.” Lucas Harlow quickly shook his head, ”You’re my agent now. Any contract of mine without your signature is invalid.”

”Ha! I knew it!” Lawrence Winters felt smug, ”Lucas, you go home and rest well for a week. Let me tell you, this is a rare vacation for you. When I’m back at the company all healed up, I’m going to arrange work for you and get you busy!”

”Alright, I’ll be waiting for you. Let’s keep our date.” Lucas Harlow suddenly gazed into Lawrence Winters’ eyes and said tenderly.

It was exactly the line from Lawrence Winters’ favorite movie starring Lucas Harlow!

He even delivered it with the same acting style and tone.

Oh my! It was just too charming!

Lawrence Winters couldn’t help but cradle her slightly flushed face, with the expression of a fangirl, dreamily saying, ”Lucas, stop this... I’m your agent! You can’t just keep charming me like this!”

Lucas Harlow smiled with pursed lips, his sight lingered on Lawrence Winters for a moment, then nonchalantly glanced at Kenneth Osborne.

Kenneth Osborne could sense Lucas Harlow’s intent and meaning in that look, but he wasn’t afraid, and returned the glance, then shifted his gaze to Edward Foster standing next to Lucas.

Compared to the composed and calm Lucas Harlow, Edward Foster’s emotions were much more evident.

Kenneth Osborne had long felt that Edward Foster had ”ulterior motives” towards Lawrence Winters, and now it seemed confirmed.

For a moment, he really thought about making Lawrence Winters quit.

Being constantly coveted by a man with such great qualities made Kenneth Osborne uneasy.

Especially since Lawrence Winters was such a penny-pincher...

What if Edward Foster figured out that the ”special way” to win over Lawrence Winters was by throwing money at her?

Kenneth Osborne once again sensed a crisis; he definitely needed to earn more money! A lot more money...

Having finished speaking, the two of them had no further reason to linger.

Kenneth Osborne got up from Lawrence Winters’ bedside and gestured towards them, ”This way, please, I’ll walk you to the elevator.”

Edward Foster looked at Lawrence Winters again and saw her waving with a smile, so he waved back, ”Goodbye.”

Before he knew it, he and Lucas Harlow were already standing in the elevator.

The elevator descended silently, and neither of them spoke.

When they exited on the first floor lobby, Edward Foster suddenly said to Lucas Harlow, ”Lucas, I’ve always let you take the lead, but this time, I don’t want to.”

Lucas Harlow laughed, ”You shouldn’t be saying that to me, you should say that to Kenneth Osborne.”

”He’s not a competitor.” Edward Foster said lazily, his usual lively expression unusually tinged with arrogance, ”My only competitor is you.”

But Lucas Harlow shook his head, ”Don’t get it twisted. As long as Kenneth Osborne is around, neither of us is his match.”

Edward Foster laughed briefly, forcing a smile, ”You really admit you have feelings for her?”

Lucas Harlow didn’t speak until they got into the car, then said confusedly, ”I’m not sure, isn’t that funny?”

”What’s funny about that?” Edward Foster started the car and said, ”I’ve had plenty of girlfriends before, but I never thought about marrying any of them. Today, when I saw her in that bedroom, my first thought was this is my wife.”

Lucas Harlow frowned, the thought of a wife was really serious, was Edward Foster for real?

He thought it over and said, ”You’re the only son of the Fosters, you better be careful. Lawrence... she’s not like your previous girlfriends, first off, she’s your subordinate; mishandle this and it’s harassment. Secondly, would your parents agree? Her family is well-off but nowhere near your league. She might be okay to have a child with, but marrying into the Foster Family likely won’t be easy. Thirdly, she already has a boyfriend. Are you thinking of being the third party?”

He also reminded him, ”If your pursuit fails, Lawrence would probably resign, and you wouldn’t even get to see her.”

Edward Foster listened quietly, after a while, he smiled and said, ”It’s fine, I can wait. When she breaks up with Kenneth Osborne, wouldn’t I have the perfect chance? — Once there’s an opening, I’ll propose right away! I won’t waste precious time on dating.”

”After we marry, we’ll have all the time in the world to date; I’m not letting her stay out there, being eyed by guys like you.”

Lucas Harlow burst out laughing, tut-tutting, ”Listen to you talk. Even when your mom urged you before, you refused to consider getting engaged, let alone married. When that little star set a trap, your mom was almost hoping it was real... seriously, you’re only twenty-three, why the rush?”

”How should I know? I heard someone did a fortune-telling for me when I was a kid, said I’d do better with an early marriage.” Edward Foster shrugged, ”Seriously, in this day and age, who still believes in fortune-telling?”

Lucas Harlow quietly listened to his rant and said only one thing, ”...Lawrence’s family has a tradition in fortune-telling and Feng Shui.”

Edward Foster was startled and immediately said, ”I should go back and study some face-reading and Feng Shui books, in case we don’t share any common ground.”
