Chapter 1247: Chapter 536: Carlos, the Fate Weaver (3)

”What is this?!”

”I don’t know, maybe some cute creatures from the forest?”

”Just shoot anyway.”

The peasant soldiers on the castle walls quickly discovered that these ever-changing pink Fear Demons were simply powerless. As the battle continued, they began to relax.

It turned out to be a terrible mistake.

Large numbers of pink Fear Demons appeared from the void, their numbers increasing. Due to their extreme weakness, once the defenders engaged the artillery, thousands of them were slaughtered swiftly, unable to pose significant threat to the Sharp-Top Palace.

But they had absorbed enough energy!

As more and more pink Fear Demons perished, the Winds of Chaos released at their deaths started to converge around Sharp-Top Palace, and a massive crystal gate began to appear before everyone’s eyes.

The chaotic, myriad-colored yet murky Winds of Chaos continuously poured into the crystal gate, set just beyond the artillery’s range by cunning Chaos Demons.

After losing as much as twenty thousand pink Fear Demons, the gate opened.

Tzeentch’s Demon Army made their grand entrance through the gate. As it cracked open, hordes of smaller demons with flat bodies, wings, and tails flew out from the crystal gate. Their blue figures almost covered the sky as they glided directly toward the guards on the walls!

By this time, Laine and others had urgently retreated back into the castle. He raised the Mjolnir: ”Those are Screamers! Shoot! Soldiers! Focus fire on them! Stay under cover!”

”Yes!” the peasant infantry responded loudly. The soldiers began to focus their fire on these flying creatures. Under the dense barrage and rain of arrows, the flying demons fell in swathes. Their bodies were so fragile they couldn’t withstand any blow from mortal weapons, but as they neared the walls, Laine immediately shouted: ”Take cover, soldiers! Get down!”

Most of the peasant soldiers heeded Laine’s command, but many were too slow.

In the blink of an eye, the bodies of these soldiers were sliced as if by blades. In the sharp fangs, horns, and thrusts of the flying creatures, they were reduced to fragments, leaving twenty human soldiers as a pile of shattered corpses amidst the bloody chaos.

The defending army’s ranged firepower was severely suppressed because none of the ranged infantry dared to rise from behind the battlements to confront these creatures, with only the dwarf soldiers able to barely counterattack.

”What is happening?!” the female sorcerer Teresa and Lake God Witch Mogiana arrived at the top of the walls; Teresa was pulled into Laine’s arms before she could realize what was going on.

In the position where the female sorcerer originally stood, five Screamers flew through one after another. An apprentice of the Ice Element witch was caught unaware and was cleaved in two by a Tzeentch Demon, spraying blood everywhere.

”Tzeentch Demon!” Mogiana immediately recognized the enemy, and the Lake God Witch quickly released a Life Magic: ”Thorn Shield!”

A shield made of interlocking thorns covered the walls, fending off attacks from these flying demons.

”Frost Nova!” Teresa also began chanting a spell, and her magic exploded among the flying beasts, freezing dozens of Screamers.

The pressure on the walls eased, and only then did the human army begin to realize the seriousness of the situation. Knights and knights’ squires began to join the battle, while Lake God Prophets chanted spells, preparing to counter the enemy.

”This is Tzeentch’s Demon Army!” Laine’s eyes gathered spiritual energy as he raised his hand: ”Spiritual Storm!”

As several pale blue bolts of lightning shot from his hand, the Divine Chosen Champion of the Lake Fairy immediately felt the danger. He pushed Mogiana and Teresa aside, using both hands to wield the Mjolnir directly against the transparent air beside him.

”Clack~”

”Clatter~”

On the tip of the Mjolnir, the Demon-Breaking Rune flashed as, between the torn Mortal World and the Chaos Domain, the Great Demon of Tzeentch, Carlos the Fate Weaver, made its appearance. Besides its hunched and hideous appearance, it was clad in blue demon battle armor, with the magic staff it held spewing multi-colored flames.

”Discovered? Interesting!” Carlos fired a multi-colored flame directly at Laine: ”Ah, the Divine Chosen Champion of a Pseudo-God! Pleased to meet you. I am Carlos, the first Great Demon under the True God—Saint Tzeentch.”
