”Frederick?” Laine’s expression was somewhat sour: ”I remember that was once the name of an Emperor of the Empire.”

”The Ninth Emperor of the Empire, who once single-handedly slew a dragon in the Black Mountain Range,” Mogiana added, briefly informing Laine of the news from the Lake Fairy: ”This baby boy has been declared by Prince-Elector Emmanuelle as her legitimate heir, and she has received support from Emperor Carl Franz.”

”Very well.” Laine sighed deeply, ascending the wooden spiral staircase without saying more.

”You seem not very concerned about your child?” Mogiana was a bit puzzled, the Lake God Witch following behind Laine: ”Is it because Emmanuelle chose to leave you?”

”That’s not what I meant,” Laine shook his head, continuing: ”It’s just that... I don’t know how to say this... this is my first child, but I neither saw him born nor stayed by Amy... Emmanuelle’s side. I’ve always hoped to visit Nuer, but Emmanuelle always refused me, and now the child has been born, yet I’ve already gone to war with Musillon. Until Musillon is completely reclaimed, it’s impossible for me to leave for Nuer.”

After speaking, Laine sighed lightly; this was his regret as a father, unable to change it because the kingdom needed him, his army, and his people needed him.

Mogiana could feel the change in Laine’s emotions, her gaze gradually softening as she walked behind Laine: ”It’s okay, I’m here, and your wife Surya is with you as well. Your and Surya’s child will also be born at the end of the year.”

”Hmm...” Laine ultimately quelled the worries in his heart, saying to Mogiana: ”My Lady, can you sense where the Potion Chalice is?”

Mogiana closed her eyes to feel: ”It should be upstairs, in Earl Ocasen’s master bedroom.”

”No time to lose.” Laine nodded; the Potion Chalice was crucial for Mogiana, as the Lake God Witch’s lineage depended on it.

The lineage of the Lake God Witch had always been extremely mysterious. Since the founding of the Knight Kingdom by First Knight King Arthur and the twelve original Holy Grail Knights, the Lake Fairy Sect naturally became the most important sect of the Knight Kingdom. Thus, the Lake God Witch began to appear as the mortal incarnation of the Lake Fairy and the First Divine Chosen, overseeing religious affairs.

When Arthur passed away due to illness, it was the First Lake God Witch who placed Arthur’s body on a wooden boat, disappearing forever into the mist-covered Fairy Lake.

Afterward, the Lake God Witch began to reincarnate generation after generation. When the previous Lake God Witch aged, the Lake Fairy would choose one of the most powerful Lake God Prophets to undergo reincarnation through the Potion Chalice. The next Lake God Witch would inherit all the magic power and knowledge of the previous Lake God Witch, growing stronger through this process.

The authority of the Lake God Witch also swelled; initially, her role was to assist the king and provide guidance in magic, but after the passing of the Second King, Reckless Lewis, and the Third King, White Death God Guillaume, the authority of the Lake God Witch began to expand, persisting until now, a thousand years later.

But for Laine, Mogiana’s presence wasn’t much of a problem. First, he could directly discuss matters with the Lake Fairy, and secondly, now Mogiana’s mind and body were entirely...

”What’s wrong? Laine, why are you suddenly looking at me with that strange gaze?” Mogiana, under Laine’s gaze, immediately felt a strange reaction in her body and hurriedly pushed him: ”We’ve arrived, open the door; whatever you want to do tonight is up to you. Finding the Potion Chalice is the urgent matter now!”

”Hmm!” Laine was just idly thinking; he hadn’t even planned to spend the night with Mogiana.

He pushed open the door. Earl Ocasen’s master bedroom was decorated in a typical Brittania noble style, filled with various plundered treasures and decorations, along with many rare items, including some relics of the High Elves.

On the wall hung a portrait of the First Duke of Musillon, Landuin. The portrait depicted Landuin as handsome and tall, his eyes sparkling like gemstones. He held the ”Unbreakable Lake Light,” a lance bestowed by the Lake Fairy, riding a tall pure-blood Elf Warhorse, battling a Giant Dragon.

The founding twelve Holy Grail Knights, along with First Knight King Arthur himself, each possessed a lance bestowed by the Lake Fairy. Among them, Arthur’s ”Fire Dragon Riding Spear” and Landuin’s ”Unbreakable Lake Light” were exceptional weapons. The Fire Dragon Riding Spear is currently stored in Bastogne Castle, only to be presented at the ancestor’s temple and carried by Red Dragon Duke Bohemond when circumstances are most dire. The lancehead of the Red Dragon Riding Spear never dulls, capable of spewing dragon flames and countering all evils.

The Unbreakable Lake Light also never dulls; this lance shone like moonlit lake water.

But after Arthur passed away, Landuin defeated Sirulf in a champion duel, using the Unbreakable Lake Light to leave an ugly scar on Sirulf’s face. From then on, Landuin never used the lance again, and its whereabouts remain unknown.
