Chapter 1238: Chapter 533: Actually, I Am Your...

Flames, thick smoke, and blood enveloped Lorne’s military camp. The tide of the Undead and the minions of Chaos were devouring the last few places of resistance. Many dead were resurrected, becoming puppets of the Undead, regardless of how their companions called them during their lifetime, they swung their weapons at their comrades.

The sounds of hacking, screams, and roars echoed through the camp.

Mounting his warhorse, raising the Lion’s Riding Spear, Lorne roared angrily at his subordinates: ”Damn it! This cannot be! Why would the refugees collectively be corrupted by Chaos? And the Undead Army is coming from the direction of Aldred and Fulcard’s camps! How could they accomplish this? How could they silently pass through their defense zones!? This is impossible!”

”My Duke! This is no time to think about it! We must charge out!” The Holy Grail Knight De Liones shouted at Lorne: ”We must break through! Charge out!”

”Indeed! Charge out!” Despite feeling puzzled, Lorne loudly commanded: ”Charge out!!! Knights! For the Lady and King! For Brittania!”

”Dooo~dooo~” Lorne’s close aide Jered blew the Lion Horn, the low sound resonated within the camp. The magic power contained in this resonant horn sound caused the entire camp’s army to reorganize. Lorne’s prior vigilant orders were ultimately effective. After half the camp was breached by the Undead, the remaining soldiers launched a resolute counterattack and resistance.

At this time, the only six hundred knights and Knight’s Squires left in the camp had gathered around Lorne. Under Lorne’s leadership, they began charging towards the weak points of the Undead’s defenses, attempting to break out.

The Undead were prepared for this. Large numbers of Skeleton Warriors and Zombies crowded the not-so-spacious roads within the camp, hindering the knights’ momentum to charge. These Undead creatures used their bodies and decaying flesh to slow the knights’ impacts, leaving them no room to charge.

But at this moment, Lorne showcased his power. The Lion’s Riding Spear in his hand burned with golden flames, wherever he passed was unstoppable, no enemies could halt his charge. The thick Undead formation was almost breached, after repeatedly charging several times, Lorne finally found a breakthrough point as he wished.

The minions of Chaos and the Undead Army were attacking each other and tangled together at that position. Relying on his personal martial valor as an arrowhead, Lorne led the remaining five hundred cavalrymen to incessantly ram the encirclement of the Undead.

Seeing the encirclement about to be breached, a unit of the Undead Cavalry appeared in front of Lorne. This was a mixed unit of Black Knights and a few Blood Knights. Leading them was a Black Knight wearing a cross helmet with a viper pattern. He was dressed in black cursed armor, wielding a Viper Sword, and riding an Undead Warhorse breathing sulfurous fire.

This group of Undead Cavalry engaged in a steel collision face to face with the Brittania Knights. Over a hundred knights and Undead fell off their horses on the spot. The gruesome battle stimulated everyone’s senses.

Amidst the chaotic army, Lorne faced off against the Black Knight. The two engaged in an intense duel, Lorne’s Kulona Sword clashed several times in the air with the Black Knight’s Viper Sword, neither gaining the upper hand.

Feeling the power transmitted from the blade, Lorne knew the person in front of him was equally competent as himself. He stared at the face behind the opponent’s cross helmet, shouting angrily: ”Mathew Bade! I know you! You were once a glorious Ranger Knight of Connet!”

”Yes, so what?” Mathew Bade rhythmically swung the Viper Sword quickly back and forth, clashing with Lorne’s Kulona Sword.

”What caused you to transform from a glorious Ranger Knight into what you are now?!” Lorne swung the Kulona Sword back into an attack stance. The sacred blade flashed amid the eerie gloom, emitting dazzling light suppressing Mathew Bade’s strength. The Duke of Connet, Kingdom Regent, and Holy Grail Knight Lorne let out a painful cry: ”Tell me, what exactly caused you to betray the Knightly Path, betray this country?! You shouldn’t have become this way!”

The Kulona Sword and Viper Sword clashed here, the sparks illuminating the night’s darkness.

”Why?” Mathew Bade’s voice changed gradually, Musillon’s viper tone carried a deep hatred into the marrow. He stared at Lorne’s handsome face, disrupted by combat and encrusted with a muddled goatee, and his eyes.

Musillon’s viper repeated the question: ”You asked me why!? Lorne-Rio Cornwall!”

After saying this, Mathew Bade reached out and removed his helmet, revealing his pale yet handsome face underneath.

Lorne looked at Mathew Bade’s face, his complexion turned abruptly pale because Mathew Bade’s face reminded him of someone.

A sorrowful woman.

That female peasant once worked as a laundry maid in his family’s summer villa. She was very beautiful, and Mathew Bade looked as beautiful as that laundry maid, no, they looked identical!

”It’s impossible, impossible!” Lorne muttered to himself, his complexion extremely shocked, so much so that in the crucial moment of the duel, he froze.

No, he wouldn’t mistake it. He could never forget what that woman looked like when she discovered her child had been taken and abandoned in the wild. Those sad eyes used to be Lorne’s nightmare, he would always remember.

”Have you remembered yet!” Mathew Bade’s handsome features contorted into a mass: ”Have you remembered yet!!!”

”I betrayed the Knightly Path just like you betrayed my mother back then!”

”Father!!!”
