Chapter 1208: Chapter 523: Who Approves? Who Opposes?

Late at night, as Belgar led the Angland Oathsworn towards the castle gate, many guards were already terrified.

Where did all these dwarves come from in the castle?!

The patrolling guards had no time to react before Belgar and the Angland Oathsworn overwhelmed them, leaving them in disarray. These ordinary peasant infantry of Sharp-Top Palace were no match for these Dwarf Iron Hammer Warriors and Broken Iron Warriors. The dozen or so guards hastily gathered were directly scattered by the dwarves; hammers and axes broke through the peasant infantry’s shields and armor. Belgar sang the Ancestor Song of the Angland Clan, his loud voice echoing through the castle corridors.

The guards instantly collapsed, and it was not clear which guard shouted, ”Run! The dwarves can’t outrun us!”

”That’s right! Their legs are short!”

”Run!!!”

The guards’ morale collapsed in an instant, and almost the moment the battle started, the twenty to thirty guards who had gathered together no longer had the will to fight. They screamed and shouted as they fled for their lives.

In some sense, the guards’ thoughts were indeed correct, as when they fled on foot, Belgar and his Angland Oathsworn truly couldn’t catch up with them.

”A bunch of cannon fodder!” Belgar stroked his white beard, grumbling discontentedly, ”These humans are so annoying! If I catch them, I’ll cut off all their legs to show them whose legs are the shorter ones!”

”My King, should we go kill all these humans now?” one Oathsworn said, belching.

Many of the Oathsworn secretly drank up the ale in the barrels. These drinks didn’t make the dwarves drunk but made them very excited, each face flushed red and eager for a kill.

Belgar remained clear-headed and shook his head: ”First open the castle gate! Let the Laine Brothers’ army come in!”

”Yes!”

Meanwhile, the barracks of Sharp-Top Palace were also ablaze. Angland Clan’s Chief Engineer Harharaver the Gold Digger had already controlled the barracks. The guards, asleep in their dreams, were in chaos. At first, someone said that dozens of dwarves were rampaging in the city, then it spread that hundreds of dwarves had already stormed the castle, and it eventually turned into rumors that the southern knight army had already entered the city.

At this moment, the army of Sharp-Top Palace was in complete chaos. The guards trampled each other in a bid to escape. Without Count Ocasen and his Knight’s Squire managing the order, no one had the ability to control the entire situation.

When the Guard Commander awoke from his dream, he heard cries for help and wailing. Sharp-Top Palace was emitting towering flames, and the scene was chaotic.

Hurriedly throwing on his clothes, the Guard Commander arrived at the window of the tower. The scene before him made his heart contract sharply.

The castle gate was open, and the knight army outside the castle was entering the city.

The castle had fallen! This was the Guard Commander’s first reaction; his face turned pale as paper. He didn’t even understand why the castle had fallen, knowing only that time was running out. In a few minutes, the southern knights would take over the castle!

He must report this to Duke Mathew Bade! This was the Guard Commander’s instinctive response. He immediately called his trusted guard, who was on the verge of tears in panic: ”Commander! Just flee! The castle has fallen! A group of dwarves appeared out of nowhere and burned the barracks, and they even opened the gate!”

”You...” The Guard Commander’s eyes blazed red. He hesitated, looked down at his sword, then at his trusted guard, his expression shifting.

Until he heard the distant sound of hooves, the Brittania Knights had already entered the inner castle!

”Take this!” The Guard Commander gritted his teeth, handing the longsword and hand cannon hanging on the wall to his trusted guard: ”Go quickly, report to Duke Mathew Bade, Sharp-Top Palace has fallen!”

”But?”

”Go!” The Guard Commander shouted fiercely: ”I can’t escape alone, I’m the Count’s appointed Guard Commander! You must go to Musillon, tell Duke Mathew Bade, go quickly!”

There were already footsteps echoing in the corridor, and seeing this, the trusted guard hesitated no longer. The Guard Commander lowered a rope from the tower, watching his trusted guard descend from the tower and disappear into the night.

The next second, the room door was struck forcefully from outside: ”By the Lady’s name! I order all humans in Sharp-Top Palace to surrender immediately, or the Lady’s judgment will come!”

”Ha!” The Guard Commander responded with a cold laugh, drawing his sword and charging directly at the room’s entrance: ”Die!”

The intruder was a Holy Grail Knight. Upon seeing the Guard Commander show no intention of surrendering, he immediately swung his sword.

The room in the tower resounded with the sounds of combat, and thirty seconds later, the room was silent again.

When the first ray of dawn’s light shone into Sharp-Top Palace’s interior, all battles within the castle had concluded.

Laine, leading the Knightly Army, completely took over the castle. The well-equipped Brittania Knights and Knight’s Squires controlled every critical location of the castle, while all residents of Sharp-Top Palace knelt on the ground with their heads in their hands, awaiting judgment.

”We finally successfully captured Sharp-Top Palace,” Laine atop Pure-blooded Elf Warhorse Grapes exhaled lightly: ”But this is only the beginning. We must withstand Mathew Bade’s counterattack to truly secure a foothold in Musillon.”
