Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1996: Chapter 1997: Strange...

As soon as she finished eating the dumplings, Huo Qingyi began to tidy up.

Just as she was about to go out with the tray, Su Yixing spoke again: ”From now on, don’t handle everything personally. You are now mine and should be by my side at all times. However, I know that you’re still the manager here, and before the new manager takes over, you’ll have to manage the matters here. For now, you don’t have to attend to me during the day. Just serve me until I fall asleep at night. Once the new manager arrives, you will be with me wherever I go.”

”Yes, Young Master.” Huo Qingyi had no objections.

...

Because Su Yixing said there was no need to attend to him during the day, Huo Qingyi returned to the counter to act as the Shopkeeper.

But she hadn’t been at the counter long before Su Yixing came downstairs, and he was planning to go out.

As subordinates, they had no right to question where their master was going, but Huo Qingyi was concerned about Su Yixing’s safety. As he passed by the counter, she asked, ”Mr. An, where are you going?”

Su Yixing didn’t say where he was going; instead, he smiled and said, ”I should be back by noon.”

At noon, Su Yixing indeed returned. Unlike when he left in the morning with empty hands, he now carried a rather large parcel. The parcel was neatly wrapped, like it contained a box, but only Su Yixing knew what was inside.

Huo Qingyi didn’t ask, but upon seeing Su Yixing returned, she said, ”Mr. An, lunch has already been delivered to your room.”

”Thank you.” Su Yixing smiled at Huo Qingyi and stopped at the counter. ”Prepare a good meal with fine wine for tonight.” As he spoke, he placed a large gold ingot on the counter.

Everything Su Yixing used and wore was provided by the Slayer Tower. By doing this, he made it appear to outsiders as though he was merely a guest at the inn.

”Okay.” Huo Qingyi agreed and accepted the gold ingot.

As soon as it got dark, Huo Qingyi went to serve in Su Yixing’s room. As soon as she entered, she respectfully asked, ”Dinner has been prepared as you instructed, Young Master. When shall it be served?”

”Let’s wait a bit; we’ll bathe first.”

Not just me, but us...

Although Huo Qingyi found it odd, she obediently bathed with Su Yixing. After the bath, she wanted to put on her clothes but was stopped by Su Yixing.

Su Yixing only allowed her to wear undergarments and nothing else.

Su Yixing himself only wore undergarments as well.

Huo Qingyi found it even more puzzling but didn’t ask anything.

Su Yixing glanced at Huo Qingyi before retrieving the parcel from the small table beside the bed. The parcel was indeed the one he brought in earlier in the day.

When the parcel was opened, inside was a box, lacquered and etched with patterns.

Opening the box, it was full of red clothes.

Su Yixing handed the top red garment to Huo Qingyi, ”Put it on.”

Huo Qingyi didn’t understand why she had to wear the red clothes resembling a wedding dress, but she obediently put it on.

Su Yixing then donned the remaining red clothing. It was apparent there were two sets, one for a man and one for a woman, and they fit their sizes perfectly.

Seeing Su Yixing dressed like a groom and then looking at herself in the bride’s attire, Huo Qingyi wanted to ask Su Yixing why, but she remained silent, adhering to her obedient nature. She just did whatever Su Yixing asked her to do.
