Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1965: Chapter 1966: Reluctant to Leave

Feeling the change in her mood, Huo Qingyi suddenly halted her steps, lowered her head, and looked at the place where her heart was, her eyes full of confusion. What’s happening to her?

Why does it seem a bit hard to leave?

Probably because she’s been following her master Su Yixing for too long.

Master...

No, Su Yixing is no longer her master. She’s going to Nan Chi, unless Su Yixing inherits the position of Building Master, she doesn’t have to listen to Su Yixing like before.

But, she seems to want to continue obeying Su Yixing like before.

Yet, she cannot ignore the Building Master’s words. She is a door person of Slayer Tower, everyone in Slayer Tower must obey the Building Master.

”You’ll get used to it...”

Suddenly, Su Yixing’s frequent words to her rang in her ears, but Huo Qingyi smiled, albeit with a trace of bitterness.

Perhaps she truly is accustomed to staying by Su Yixing’s side, so now that she’s leaving Su Yixing, she feels unfamiliar, hence this reaction. Once she’s accustomed to not being by Su Yixing’s side, she will be fine.

With this thought, Huo Qingyi stopped thinking further and continued heading towards where Su Yixing lived.

As if nothing had happened, she continued guarding Su Yixing for most of the day, until nightfall when everything was calm, and Su Yixing had long since retired for the night, that’s when Huo Qingyi finally packed up her bundle, preparing to leave.

Just as she was about to head towards the stables, she couldn’t help but turn around, gazing from afar at the room where Su Yixing was staying, inside that room, Su Yixing was asleep.

Wondering if he would be angry tomorrow upon discovering she had left?

He might be angry.

He loves to get angry, always making her confused. His temper is indeed unpredictable, especially towards her.

Perhaps unknowingly, she’s truly done many things wrong, causing him to often be so angry.

Now that she wouldn’t be by his side in the future, maybe he wouldn’t get angry so often. It would be good if he had less anger.

Honestly, she never imagined there would come a day when she would leave Su Yixing.

Originally, she thought that when Gong Juechen, the Building Master, gave her to Su Yixing, she would belong to Su Yixing for life. Yet, unexpectedly, Gong Juechen fetched her back and sent her to Nan Shen.

Indeed, a Building Master does things according to his mood.

She doesn’t resent nor hate, accepting everything with calm submission, just... it’s... she’s truly reluctant... reluctant to leave...

During the day, she wasn’t certain that she felt reluctant, but as the moment for departure approached, she found it increasingly difficult to move her feet, her heart growing heavier. She couldn’t even fool herself; she genuinely felt reluctant, reluctant to leave, wanting to continue staying by Su Yixing’s side.

Hoping that after going to Nan Chi, she would quickly get used to the days without being by Su Yixing’s side.

Thinking this, Huo Qingyi tightened her grip on her bundle and sword, finally pursing her lips, she stopped looking at Su Yixing’s room and turned away, leaving without looking back.

Door persons of Slayer Tower for generations may lack other things, but not loyalty; she must be loyal to Gong Juechen, the Building Master, and go to Slayer Tower’s outpost in Nan Chi.

...

The next day, at dawn, Su Yixing woke up and called, as usual: ”Qingyi.”

Always, Huo Qingyi arose earlier than Su Yixing, and every time Su Yixing woke up, Huo Qingyi was either in his room or standing guard outside. As soon as he called, Huo Qingyi would bring in water to assist him in freshening up.

Yet, after Su Yixing was fully dressed, he didn’t see Huo Qingyi push open the door and come in, feeling somewhat puzzled but not overly concerned.
