Chapter 1990: Chapter 1991: A Match Made in Heaven

An Yiqing said, ”I understand, it’s just that I feel wronged. I’ve never been unfaithful.”

”If you don’t go to the brothel in the future, you won’t be wrongly accused.” These words weren’t spoken by An Jing, but by Xiao Changyi.

”Yes, Dad.” An Yiqing immediately took the lesson. After a pause, he added, ”That’s one of the terms in the guarantee, I’m not allowed to go to the brothel in the future.”

”That’s a good thing, we’ll be relieved in the future.” An Jing strongly agreed with Gong Juechen making An Yiqing sign some sort of guarantee.

An Yiqing himself felt that whether he signed it or not, he would do it anyway. He didn’t feel any resistance from beginning to end.

”So, Mom, when will you and Dad go help me propose marriage?”

”Proposing marriage involves preparing gifts and getting a matchmaker. It’s quite troublesome. You just need to wait a few days. Once we have everything prepared, we’ll go with you to propose marriage.”

An Yiqing immediately said, ”Forget about a matchmaker, let’s not involve outsiders. Slayer Tower is not a place to let outsiders in. Uncle Gong and Aunt Ye probably won’t let them in either. We’ll just go with some gifts to propose.”

An Jing nodded, ”Alright then, I’ll prepare more gifts. At that time, we’ll also take your fifth, sixth, seventh brother, and the little treasure to show our sincerity.”

An Yiqing said, ”Just you, Dad, and Big Brother coming with me is enough. Don’t bring Fifth Brother and the others. Second Brother isn’t at Slayer Tower right now. If they go, no one will look after them. They’d definitely cause trouble at Slayer Tower, which has many fun things.”

”True.” An Jing nodded. ”By the way, why isn’t your Second Brother at Slayer Tower?”

”Uncle Gong originally thought Second Brother would really become his son-in-law, so he transferred Qingyi away, wanting Second Brother to be wholly focused on Lele. Now that Lele is with me, Second Brother found out about Qingyi’s whereabouts from Uncle Gong and went to Nan Chi to find Qingyi. Nan Chi is so far away; it’ll probably take a few months before he can come back.”

An Jing understood and said, ”Then let’s do as you suggest. Just me, your dad, your big brother, and you four will take the gifts to propose marriage.”

”Okay.”

...

After four days of preparing the gifts for the proposal, An Jing, Xiao Changyi, Su Yi Jing, and An Yiqing set out for Slayer Tower.

Because there were so many gifts, they couldn’t all fit on horseback, so they had to use a carriage. But the carriage was much slower than riding a horse, so it took them half a month to reach Slayer Tower.

”Oh my, Boss, you’re finally visiting me again!” Ye Zhi happily took An Jing’s hand and led her up the stairs.

Previously, An Jing had only visited Slayer Tower once, when Su Yixing, as Young Master of Slayer Tower, invited her, her husband, and their three lovely sons to visit.

”I’m here personally as the matchmaker to propose marriage for my son.” Saying this, An Jing remembered something and laughed, ”Ye Zi, do you remember when we talked about arranging a childhood betrothal? In the end, we decided against it, not wanting to bind the kids, preferring they fall in love freely. But at that time, Qinger said if your baby was a girl, he’d marry her. Haha, indeed, destiny is predetermined!”

Ye Zhi was initially taken aback, then she remembered and laughed, ”Exactly! Who would have thought, back then Lele wasn’t even born yet... I suppose I do believe in destiny being predetermined now!”

Gong Le listened to Ye Zhi and An Jing’s conversation, feeling very happy, and cheerfully said to An Yiqing, ”Big Brother Qing, who would have thought that before I was even born, you already said you’d marry me.”
