Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1951: Chapter 1952: He Really Dared to Say That...

Su Yixing felt a chill, ”You’d better not smile like that, it gives me the creeps.”

Only then did Gong Le return to normal.

Su Yixing thought for a moment before saying, ”If you have any way to make him realize his feelings, use it quickly. I promised your parents to take you back to Slayer Tower for the New Year, and it’s already the twelfth of November today.”

”I’m planning to go back to Slayer Tower for the New Year as well. I’m their only precious child, so I must go back to keep them company.” After pausing, she added, ”Don’t worry, I have everything under control.”

”As long as you know what you’re doing.” Su Yixing didn’t want to say anything more.

...

Although Gong Le claimed she knew what she was doing, in truth, she hadn’t done much to make An Yiqing realize his feelings for her by her fifteenth birthday.

But Gong Le had a plan, on her fifteenth birthday she wanted to give An Yiqing a big ’surprise.’

Su Yixing called it a shock instead.

On the tenth of December, Gong Le’s fifteenth birthday.

Knowing that today was Gong Le’s birthday, An Yiqing had arranged everything days in advance to properly celebrate it for her. He even invited a famous opera troupe to the Royal Palace to perform for Gong Le.

That evening, while Su Yixing, An Yiyun, An Yiqi, An Yilin, and An Yizhi were all present, Gong Le asked An Yiqing with a bright smile, ”Big Brother Qing, I’m fifteen now. By this time next year, I’ll be sixteen. My parents said I can get married at sixteen. When will you come to my house to propose?”

”Cough, cough...” An Yiqing almost choked on the wine he just drank and started coughing violently.

After finally stopping his cough and ignoring the teasing jeers from An Yiqi and the others, An Yiqing cautiously asked, ”Lele, what did you just say?”

”I asked when you’ll come to my house to propose.” Gong Le smiled radiantly.

An Yiqing coughed once more before saying, ”Lele, did you misunderstand something? Why would I need to propose at your house? Just because you’re at the age to get married?”

”Lele, you can’t be like this.” An Yiqing hurriedly added before Gong Le could speak again, ”In our family, we value mutual affection in marriage. We don’t have that kind of feeling between us. You must not say such nonsense again, lest others misunderstand and it affects your reputation.”

Gong Le immediately retorted angrily, ”What’s this about us not having that kind of feeling? Clearly, I like you and want to marry you as a wife, everyone knows that!”

An Yiqing’s eyes widened, ”Everyone knows? How come I don’t know?”

”How could you not know? I’ve made it so obvious! Otherwise, why would I hang around you all the time? I’m a girl, you know!”

It kind of makes sense...

An Yiqing was at a loss for words by Gong Le’s logic, ”Lele, um... I... well... cough, let’s just hypothetically say you like me, but I don’t like you.”

Afraid of hurting Gong Le’s fragile heart, An Yiqing quickly explained, ”No, it’s not that I don’t like you, it’s just that the way I like you isn’t in a romantic sense. I’ve always seen you as a sister, and my affection for you is that of an older brother, not romantic love, you understand?”

Gong Le felt especially upset inside. This guy actually dared to say he only saw her as a sister. Forget being his sister!

Gong Le put on an especially agitated expression, reddened eyes accusing loudly, ”I don’t understand! If you only see me as a sister, would you let me hold your hand, cuddle you, and sleep with my head on your lap? What brother allows his teenage sister to do this?!”
