Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 543: Chapter 369: Red Berries - Extra Large!

The two pondered for a while and ultimately decided to inform all the survivors around the world of this news, and each returned to their own treehouse.

First, they announced the news in the regional channel, and then again used the trade platform’s sales remark method to convey this news to survivors in all regions.

However, after discussing, they decided not to disclose the number of entrances to others.

They simply informed the world that once the first person climbed the snowy peak, shortcuts underneath the snow surface would be activated. Finding a shortcut, you could climb the snow mountain from inside, eliminating the need for rock climbing.

The world channel was once again boiling because of their information!

”Damn, go check the trade platform! The big shots in Area 188 are releasing messages again! This news is astonishing!”

”What?! I’m going to check right now!”

”Oh my god, it’s about a shortcut for climbing!”

”A shortcut for climbing? Is there really a shortcut for climbing?”

”I just said how did Dong Erbao, who ranks over 1000, climb up!”

”He definitely climbed up using the shortcut activated by Shi Wanyun after climbing!”

”Damn! His ranking misled a lot of naive guys into confident rock climbing, causing many deaths, and it turns out he climbed using a shortcut!”

”Entering the world ranking top ten via a shortcut, I’m completely envious and jealous!”

”Thanks to the big shots in Area 188!”

”Thanks to Big Shot Xu Xin, thanks to Big Shot Ji Chaoyang!”

”But, underneath the snow layer... it’s four meters deep now, how do we find it!”

”Why panic? The big shots surely have a way, winter is ending soon!”

”See? This is what you call vision! That Shi Wanyun must have found a shortcut too, but didn’t tell us, whereas the big shots in Area 188 directly announced it!”

”Who knows, maybe Dong Erbao climbed up on his own?”

”Exactly, and even if he found it, he doesn’t have a duty to tell you, right?”

”True, the big shots in Area 188 have already enjoyed the benefits of activation, and want us to share a bit. Shi Wanyun hasn’t even enjoyed the benefits yet, why share the cake with you!”

These three people are from Area 1, defending Shi Wanyun.

”Doesn’t matter, everyone knows now anyway. By the way, do you think those ’big shots’ from Area 188 climbed the mountain using shortcuts?”

”Nonsense, our area’s big shots all climbed up through rock climbing! The big shots just announced their discovery in the regional channel, they just found this out too!”

”Who knows, maybe all of them climbed using shortcuts, otherwise how could there be so many people...”

As if responding to all survivors’ questions, a mysterious voice emerged at this time.

”[Survivors who have discovered the simplest method to activate the Snow Mountain Array have reached the standard, causing slight changes to the snow mountain climbing activity ranking.]”

”[Another reminder, be sure to end this winter soon, otherwise something truly terrifying will happen!]”

These two sentences made even those who were not paying attention to the world’s channel and were doing other things aware of this issue.

This time, the shortcut matter has become widely known.

Xu Xin opened the rankings.

The list had indeed changed.

The ranking now shows fourteen people.

Including today and yesterday, so far, five more climbers have reached the summit.

Except for each additional person from Area 1 and Area 23, two new survivors from Area 57 and Area 89 showed up, both ranking in the top ten areas.

However, since they ranked after the top ten, it did not cause the same sensation as before.

Nevertheless, this time, only Dong Erbao’s name on the list turned from white to gray.

Above the rankings, two small lines of text also appeared.

”[Gray names represent survivors who climbed the snow mountain using shortcuts.]”

”[Shortcut climbers can participate in the activation of the mountain array. Ranking rewards remain unchanged, but they do not have the privilege of activators, please all survivors think carefully.]”

This line of small text directly explained the benefits and drawbacks of using shortcuts to climb the snow mountain.

The benefit is enjoying the ranking rewards, which alone is enough to attract most people.

Not to mention, it’s the world ranking. Being on the list allows one to make oneself known to all survivors.

However, lacking activator privileges means shortcut climbers can only use the array but cannot control it, nor grant other survivors the rights to use it.

Regarding the usage rights of the array, they are no different from ordinary survivors, merely as witnesses to the activation.

So, if one has the ability, climbing from the outside is actually the best option.

Those who truly climb up can become the owner of this Teleportation Array.

”Haha, I told you, in Area 188, no one climbed to the peak using shortcuts!”

”I’m such a fool, doubting the big shots in Area 188, I’m a fool, fool, fool...”

”Only Dong Erbao used a shortcut to climb, the ranking is still very credible!”

”I’m so moved, the big shots truly told us after finding the shortcut, and didn’t even try it themselves...”

”Is it possible that the big shots in Area 188 have already activated the Transmission Array, so they don’t need to try or can’t try anymore?”

”Anyway, with the shortcut, this doggone winter is finally coming to an end!”

”Not yet, the snow layer is four meters thick, increasing by one meter daily, who knows if the shortcut can be found. The fear is not finding it and having to resort to rock climbing.”

”There must be a way to find it!”

Meanwhile, a new transaction was pinned on the trade platform.

The trade was issued by the person named Cheng Jun’an on the Area 1 leaderboard.

”Thank you, Xu Xin, Ji Chaoyang, and explorers, your information is very useful to us. Area 1 owes you a favor.”

They just spoke up after the mysterious voice corroborated the news because they were initially suspicious that the information disclosed was merely a lie to deplete their energy.

After all, while ordinary survivors are unaware, the upper echelons are well-informed.

The so-called regional confrontation.

But now that the mysterious voice has appeared and even the rankings have changed, it means this is definitely real.

So, on behalf of Area 1, he thanked Area 188, a way to express his stance.

”The big shot from Area 1 has come out to thank us!”

”The horizon is broadening!”

”If the two strongest areas join forces, I feel like we could establish civilization in this world!”

”Join forces? Hehe...”

Xu Xin was a bit surprised to see this; he wondered if this guy was sincere.

We’ll verify his words when true interaction between areas becomes possible later.

Meanwhile, the explorers were getting excited.

Zhao Xiaochuan: ”Oh my, Brother Xin and Brother Chaoyang have pulled off another big one!”

Wen Guixin: ”A shortcut to climbing! Such a big matter, and you didn’t tell us, but directly announced it to the world!”

Li Wenxi: ”Digging lotus roots and a shortcut! Does this mean I also have a chance to be on the rankings?”

Qin Yunlong: ”It does seem so, but the shortcut climbing is a grey name, really a distinct treatment.”

Qi Xuefei: ”Even grey names can get rewards, actually there’s not much difference, just need someone to climb externally to activate the shortcut.”

Wen Guixin: ”Speaking of which, should we activate a few more teleportation arrays nearby and use the shortcut to get all nine of us on the rankings? There’s always a reward for the rankings, no explorer should be left behind.”

Lou Fei’Er: ”I can climb the summit again; I feel climbing isn’t too difficult.”

Ji Chaoyang: ”That’s a possibility, but currently there’s no easy way to find shortcut entrances. We must wait for the snow to melt before making a move.”

Wang Lei: ”Speaking of which, it’s already noon, hurry up for lunch, let’s chat face-to-face! Rarely do we become neighbors, shouldn’t we get together?”

Wen Guixin: ”Ah...maybe not today, let’s talk tomorrow? I’ve had two survivalists visit me this morning...”

Ji Chaoyang: ”Too much happening today, let’s finish this business first.”

Zhao Xiaochuan: ”I’m already at Wang Lei’s, ugh...”

Qi Xuefei: ”Not adapting to the side effects yet? You should teleport more, otherwise you’ll look bad when people come in the afternoon.”

Zhao Xiaochuan: ”You’re right; I must adapt quickly.”

Wang Lei: ”Indeed, today’s not suitable. I also need to adapt to the teleportation gate! Or I might really embarrass myself!”

Xu Xin doesn’t plan to go out this afternoon.

Today there’s luck enhancement; it’s a good time for alchemy.

Now he can practically ensure a 100% success rate in alchemy.

Those alchemy potions and coordinates are all blue level; the current enhancement success rate is already at 88%.

Combined with Koi effect and luck enhancement, failure would be comparable to winning the lottery.

He has plenty of blue-level fruits ready to prepare the first batch of alchemical reagents!

He might even have the capability to craft something if he had a purple-level alchemy formula.

Speaking of purple level, he seems to have forgotten something...

Ah, purple-level Land of Harvest!

On his Land of Harvest (purple), a purple-level red berry tree is still planted!

Today marks the third day!

The red berry tree should be mature by now!

What might be the special effect of a purple-level red berry?

The most crucial thing is, can the purple red berry be used to craft potions?

Xu Xin immediately got up and headed to the planting room on the fourth floor.

Inside the planting room, almost all blue-level fruits were mature.

One apple after another, oranges, hung from the little trees, covering their branches, emitting a blue glow.

”Eep!” Keke also came up, looking around at the fruit trees and tugging at Xu Xin’s pant leg.

Xu Xin casually picked and handed it a blue-level apple.

When it picks, it’s just ordinary fruit; only when he picks it does it have a blue-level effect.

Keke sat down immediately, holding the apple and gnawing it, showing a comfortable expression.

Xu Xin then came before the bush emitting purple light.

On it, plump, purple-glowing red berries made his eyes light up.

Purple-level red berries!

This was his first time seeing a purple-level plant besides his towering tree house!

Previously, he decided to place fertile soil in the treehouse to grow blue-level plants with a thought that purple plants might grow from the blue soil!

But now it seems unlikely; not a single purple plant has grown from blue soil yet.

Only the purple-level red berry grew from the purple soil.

Xu Xin eagerly reached out and picked a purple-glowing red berry from the bush.

[Red Berry·Extra Large (purple): A fruit suitable for direct eating, tastes sour and sweet, a rare top-tier delicacy! Possesses a strong vision-enhancing effect, eating grants 15 minutes of special ability: perspective.]

Xu Xin’s eyes widened instantly.

What ability?!

Perspective?

This ability doesn’t seem quite right...

Wait!

Perspective!

This is exactly the ability needed by them right now!
