Chapter 33: Chapter 20: Fired Up

Gritting her teeth, she endured the pain of spending two thousand plane points to buy a Bone Strengthening Pill and a Strong Bone Pill. If the effects were good, she would also buy some for her two children, not wanting them to lose at the starting line of life.

After acquiring the elixirs, she quickly shut down the dimensional system, fearing she might not resist the temptation and spend all the remaining plane points. She carefully studied the elixir bottles before her, noting that they were carved from very precious warm jade. Opening the bottle cap, she poured the elixir marked ”Bone Strengthening Pill” into her palm, a rich scent enveloping her nose.

She hesitated for just a moment before tilting her head back to swallow the elixir... but oddly felt nothing. Was this a fake? Or perhaps because this wasn’t the Cultivation Plane, the elixirs wouldn’t work? She frowned unhappily and swallowed the other one as well.

In fact, Su Jiameng didn’t know that the Strong Bone Pill and Bone Strengthening Pill were meant to be taken together for them to be effective, with their effects being absolutely phenomenal! Usually, these are the foundational introductory elixirs distributed by cultivation sects to newly admitted outer disciples and inner sect disciples to strengthen muscle and bone, enhancing physical strength to facilitate future cultivation. The first usage is the most effective; subsequent doses yield average results.

Suddenly, a searing pain sliced through her as if tearing her flesh apart, momentarily rendering her unable to endure as she crouched and hunched over before collapsing to the ground in agony, curled into a shrimp-like ball, sweat from her forehead dripping down and soaking the ground.

To withstand the pain, she bit down hard on her lower lip, so much that the taste of blood filled her mouth without her realizing it. Her tightly clenched hands dug nails into her flesh, her finger joints creaking ominously. Watching the scene fade to black as her eyeballs appeared to bulge from their sockets, her face was covered with wriggling blue veins and blotchy blood vessels...

Two eggs playing in the nutrient liquid noticed Su Jiameng’s strange state and hurriedly floated out. But there was nothing they could do, only circling her anxiously. Su Jiameng had endured such pains before, having frequently hovered at the brink of life and death in her past life. Her body was a testament, covered in dense scars.

But this body wasn’t original, intensifying the pain by more than double. If it wasn’t for her strong telekinesis, she might have bitten her tongue to end her life or acted out in madness to self-harm. After an unknown amount of time, when she awoke again, the moon was high in the sky. The environment on this planet wasn’t very good, the sky was gray as if wrapped in a layer of window screen.

Stiffly, she turned her head and found herself nestled with two eggs, their shells dusty and dirty. She blinked, struggling to recall what had happened. She remembered buying two elixirs from the plane store, and then...

She raised her hand to press her forehead, dispelling the disturbing memories of the intense pain. Once her memory returned, she sighed in relief, spreading her hands wide. She closed her eyes in deep thought, quietly rejoicing... Thank goodness, she’s still alive. Next time she’ll be more careful with these unfamiliar medicinal stuffs, lest they cause irreversible damage.

”Mama is awake, she’s fine now...” As soon as Su Jiameng moved, the two eggs snapped out of their daze and rolled to nuzzle her cheek. The egg shells were cool but warmed her heart, ”Fools, mama is an unkillable cockroach, even King Yama dares not take mama’s life... We swear, we’ll be with our babies for a very, very long time.”

As she pushed herself up from the ground, she was surprised to find her body lighter and more agile than before, even though it couldn’t compare to her previous life it was far better than her previous frail form. Possibly breaking through then rebuilding, even her telekinesis grew stronger, a pleasant surprise indeed.

She pinched her arm, clenched her hands tight then relaxed, joy unconsciously overflowing.

Those two elixirs truly were extraordinary. Though nothing seemed outwardly different, she knew her body had been drastically transformed inside, laying a solid foundation for future mecha master training! Even if this body missed the golden time to build a foundation, it doesn’t hinder much. After the joy subsided, her excited heart slowly settled down. She perceived a strange sour odor, sniffing for quite a while before realizing it emanated from herself, ”Need to take a shower, luckily there’s still a bucket of water fetched this morning...”

First, she cleaned the dust off the two eggshells, wiped them with a clean towel, then washed herself. Due to her physical training these days and today’s elixirs, the person in the mirror looked vibrant, with eyebrows exuding a slight heroic aura, no longer gloomy and shadowed but showing the unique youthful vitality of this age.

She casually pinned her waist-long hair up and fixed it with a clean chopstick, then went out wrapped in a towel.

Perhaps the earlier incident left the two eggs frightened, they stuck to Su Jiameng, reluctant to even enter the nutrient liquid. After much persuasion, these two little ancestors finally settled down. She tidied up the room briefly, sat cross-legged on the sleeping mat, and opened the dimensional system. She remembered there was some sort of upgrade package mentioned before... wonder what it contains...

”Stupid... suit?” Su Jiameng clicked the small red envelope, nearly blinded by the dazzling large characters. This name really was peculiarly distinctive, reading further revealed a small line underneath, ”of... the housekeeper?”

Housekeeper? This thing? Su Jiameng looked at the thing in her hand that resembled a Mecha Space Hub, with a robot housekeeper inside? But she didn’t need this thing for now, she would use it after moving to Qiming Star. Opening the second and third small packets, Su Jiameng found that the contents were also similar space hubs, each prefixed with ”Silly Suit.”

The first was a housekeeper, the second a nanny, and the third a flying device... the only thing she could use in the near future was the flying device. Su Jiameng placed the space hub for the flying device by the bedside and put the others in a small compartment to use later.

Not feeling sleepy yet, Su Jiameng did two more sets of basic physical training exercises, with results that satisfied her. Apart from sweating a bit, she didn’t feel tired at all. Instead, she felt more invigorated. She then continued with an intermediate set of physical exercises, which was challenging but manageable... seems like the Strong Bone Pill and Bone Strengthening Pill from the Cultivation Plane really worked wonders.

If the room wasn’t so small, she would’ve taken out the recently acquired training equipment to try it out and see its effects. After all, the efficiency of these physical exercises couldn’t compare with that of the training equipment.

”Since I’m in good shape, I might as well join a few solo matches...” As soon as Su Jiameng logged on, she received several offline messages. They were all from members of the K3 Team; she quickly replied and headed towards the solo competition arena!

From nine in the evening until five in the morning, Su Jiameng spent all her time at the Mecha Fighting Arena. The rewards from a single match couldn’t compare with those from group battles, but even mosquito meat is a bite, and she didn’t want to waste any chances. Moreover, as her number of matches climbed, she gradually amassed a small fan base, avoiding the embarrassing sights of an audience rooting against her in the arena.

She went offline at half-past five to rest until ten, had a meal to replenish her energy, and then went back online to join K3 for a team battle.

During halftime, Xu Na idly flipped through the team’s performance records. When she reached Su Jiameng’s page, the string of bright red ”victories” dazzled her 24K aluminum eyes. Rubbing her eyes, she stared in disbelief at those records—when did so many matches happen? Especially the last fifty or sixty solo matches, all clustered last night and in the early hours!

What the heck_(:з)∠)_, did she take pills or something, to be this fierce!

”Xiao Meng, don’t you... feel tired now?” Xu Na hesitantly asked, ”Like dizziness or something?”

Su Jiameng showed a puzzled expression, took a sip of the virtual online cold drink, and immediately felt refreshed and uplifted, ”I feel great, no discomfort at all. Why did Nana suddenly ask this?”

”Eh~~(╯﹏╰)b, it’s just... seeing that Xiao Meng’s win count increased again, and in such a concentrated time frame...” Xu Na said hesitantly, ”Wouldn’t such a long match period be very exhausting?”

Ever since they started competing in the G District, Xu Na and her teammates often faced opponents stronger than themselves. They were still more like flowers of the academy, without much exposure to real challenges compared to those who spent all their time in the Mecha Fighting Arena. Whether in terms of operation skills or battle awareness, they were far behind others. When relaxed group battles turned into long-drawn-out fights, Xu Na and her team felt their heads were about to explode each day after the fights, requiring at least an hour in the recovery pod to fully recover.

In contrast, Su Jiameng seemed energetic, joining individual matches in high spirits after team battles and clinching victories, easily slicing through opponents like chopping watermelons. When did the world become this fantastical, with a sixteen-year-old girl bullying a student from Xilena’s first affiliated school into oblivion? QAQ...

”This... feels fine...” Su Jiameng innocently shook her head. Her previous fatigue was due to the misalignment of spirit and body; now her body has been strengthened considerably, and the side effects aren’t as apparent, naturally feeling relaxed.

Xu Na twitched her mouth, muttering, ”I really shouldn’t compare myself to an alien entity like you...”

”I’m a real human, and is there even such a thing as aliens anymore these days?” Isn’t it all about advocating for cosmic integration and harmonious coexistence? With the interstellar network, the entire cosmos is like a village, where are the aliens to be found?

Xu Na drifted away, while Lucy helplessly patted Su Jiameng on the shoulder, sighing, ”No need to be so serious when joking in the future.”
