From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

Chapter 28: Chapter 17: A Blueprint Bloodbath

Xu Na and the others considerately avoided many personal questions, such as ”why did Su Jiameng have children at such a young age” and ”who is the father of the children,” and even refrained from asking about her exceptional abilities, which made Su Jiameng feel much better.

”I also think so,” Xu Lei agreed. A single, underage girl with two children – how good could life be?

”Even though that’s the case, I still suggest heading directly to a Level One planet... Xiao Meng’s skills are excellent, and she can develop better there.” K3 thought further than Xu Na and the others, considering future prospects more.

Listening to their discussion, Su Jiameng couldn’t get a word in. She was always cautious and although she got along well with these four companions, they were essentially strangers, and strangers she’d met on the virtual internet at that. Accepting their help left her feeling uncomfortable.

But for the sake of her children’s future, those discomforts were trivial.

”Wouldn’t this be too much trouble for you all?” Su Jiameng hesitated and said, ”Although we are teammates in the same team, I have no reason to accept your help without any reservations. As the ancients said, ’It is impolite not to reciprocate.’ I’m very moved by your timely help, but corresponding compensation is still necessary...”

”You said it yourself, we are teammates in the same team, and there will be many instances where we need to support each other in the future, so there’s no need to be so particular here.” K3 and the others saw Su Jiameng’s situation and knew her life wasn’t easy. Besides, they were all people who had everything they wanted, so what need did they have for compensation?

”Even brothers settle accounts clearly with each other. How about this: if you don’t mind, I happen to have four mecha design maps that I fiddled with before...” Currently, Su Jiameng was so impoverished that she only had these things left.

Out of the four mecha design maps, two were designed by her for herself, and the other two were taken from a database. Regardless, Su Jiameng was confident in her design talent. However, due to laziness, she rarely worked on them anymore. She initially studied mecha design because she found standardized mechas too rigid. Alterations were limited, so she thought it better to design her own.

Though it’s a small token, it came sincerely. They truly wanted to help Su Jiameng alleviate her concerns so she could better focus on competitions. For them, these issues were trivial, merely words away.

But when they received the design maps sent by Su Jiameng, they were stunned and had the urge to burst into tears without tears.

Damn, comparing oneself to others really drives one crazy with jealousy. Despite Su Jiameng’s young age, her mecha control was wild, cool, ruthless, and mind-blowing, with movements so impressive it was maddening. And now the mecha design maps she provided were so superb, if the guys at the design academy saw them, they’d instantly drop to their knees! They hadn’t intended to inquire about who Su Jiameng really was, but now they desperately wanted to know! It was utterly mind-boggling!

Upon receiving compensation that even the four mecha aficionados couldn’t refuse, they immediately messaged their families.

Lucy was the most assertive, directly arranging for her family to transfer Su Jiameng’s household registration to a Level One planet—Qiming Star. The slots for the two babies were temporarily held, pending registration once they hatched. Meanwhile, Xu Na and Xu Lei had their parents secure a suburban house for Su Jiameng at the lowest price, while K3 leveraged his dad to connect with a ”distant uncle”...

Initially, their families didn’t understand what madness had overtaken their children, but upon seeing dozens of detailed design maps in their offspring’s hands, the parents were dumbfounded. The mecha design maps themselves were nothing much, as they were mostly appearances.

What truly caught their eye were the detailed maps, some formulas for the computation of power output devices, and the designs along with detailed three-dimensional diagrams of various parts, with attached factual data. Xu Na’s father was completely astounded upon seeing this.

It didn’t look like a student’s mecha design map at all, but rather a piece of technology brimming with business opportunities and profit!

It was a blunder on Su Jiameng’s part; she had chosen four mecha design maps that wouldn’t be too outlandish, with content that current technology could indeed produce. However, she made a mistake by using the technological standards from her past life’s world for selection, unclear about the specific conditions of this world.
