From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

Chapter 31: Chapter 18: The Unbearable School System (Part 2)

One could say that most of her education was private, and as for the school system, she was completely in the dark.

”Just a year and a half until graduation, currently in the fifth year of Advanced Education.” Xu Na laughed at her question.

”Advanced... five years?” She didn’t get it, but the omnipotent internet would provide the answers.

Su Jiameng secretly climbed online to investigate and suddenly realized how blissful her first life was o(╯□╰)o. Students in the future are really having a hard time, with such long lifespans, their study periods are extended too. Ages three to seven are the enlightenment stage, which is basically kindergarten. Then starting at eight, there’s lower education for six years. After graduating lower education, there are both middle and advanced levels, each lasting six years.

After graduating from advanced school, there’s a brutal ”university”, like the Xilena Military Academy, with a school year of twelve years! Counting it up, not including kindergarten, students in the future have to spend thirty years in school!

If they want to pursue further studies or degrees, the study time extends by at least twelve more years... Unbelievable!

It’s freaking brutal! A whole thirty years, damn! In Su Jiameng’s first life, kids would be buying soy sauce by then!

Xu Na said she was still in fifth grade, which means this poor kid still has nearly thirteen and a half years of school left!

Heavenly Dynasty, I will never complain about your school system being a scam ever again (┬＿┬). Thinking about how her poor kids would have to go through such long schooling made her anxious. Wouldn’t her two adorable kids be turned into lifeless wooden blocks by all that study?

Actually, Su Jiameng was overthinking it. Studying in the future world is quite relaxed and leisurely. The class time hardly exceeds five hours a day, which compared to the Heavenly Dynasty’s grueling schedule of studying from seven in the morning until eleven, and then from one in the afternoon until five, with an additional four hours of self-study at night, is much more humane.

Su Jiameng was quite satisfied with the educational environment on Qiming Star and felt a bit of longing for the planet of her future life. ”Which school do you want to go to after graduation? Are you planning to join the Military Department later?”

”Of course, I’ll apply to Xilena Military Academy. I’ve been longing for it since I was little.” Xu Na interlocked her fingers, a hint of excitement blushing her cheeks. ”Xilena is ranked second among the Ten Great Universities and tenth in the universe. So many people are trying to get in... Anyone who comes out of there is basically a chosen one.”

”A chosen one...” Su Jiameng felt enlightened, recalling she was once a graduate (in name) from the Alliance’s number one academy, considered a high achiever in others’ eyes, with honors and a high starting point in life... something they couldn’t imagine.

But Su Jiameng knew that great power comes with great responsibility. She didn’t consider herself a genius; everything was forced out by the harsh education system. Without its pressure, she wouldn’t have reached this point.

”Actually... there’s a question that’s puzzled me for a long time. If Xiao Meng feels it’s inconvenient to answer, you can choose to stay silent.” Xu Na’s eyes darted around, she curiously asked, ”How come, despite being so young, Xiao Meng, you’re so powerful?”

Seriously, it’s not just powerful, this person is almost decathlon-level. Throw her into Xilena First Affiliated School and see how many self-proclaimed geniuses she could slap in the face! OMG, slapping them would surely hurt (￣ε(#￣)☆╰╮(￣▽￣///) Face-smack~~~~~

”Well... I’m not sure either. It’s like I was born this way.” Su Jiameng kept a straight face, deliberately speaking seriously, but what she said was complete nonsense, ”I’ve always suspected that maybe I’m actually an omnipotent artificial brain, with all sorts of weird things popping up in my head! As a humanoid AI, all I can say is: Tremble, mortals!”

Xu Na: ”...” (#‵′)凸 Even children aren’t fooled this effortlessly!

”Cough, cough, just kidding, no need to be so serious.” Su Jiameng coughed twice and cleared her throat. ”Honestly, I really don’t know what’s going on, it’s like an instinct to me, and all I have to do is play it out perfectly!”

”Have you... lost your memory?” Xu Na was a bit skeptical, though this plot twist is common in novels, scientifically, amnesia is not so easy. And with the current technology, even if one did lose their memory, it could be recovered.

”Maybe... I vaguely remember that I shouldn’t be on the poor planet, and I shouldn’t have the two kids by my side.” Su Jiameng stretched lazily and smiled faintly, ”But my life now is not bad, and what’s happened in the past doesn’t matter to me. As long as I live a dazzling life from now on, that’s what truly matters. In life, never wrong yourself.”

Xu Na blinked, patting her shoulder as if offering comfort, ”If you feel life is good now, then just keep going.”

As the saying goes, good things make people happy. With the help of K3 and the others, all of Su Jiameng’s problems were solved smoothly. Now, she just needed to wait for K3’s distant uncle to pick her up and continue strengthening her body. Her physical capabilities couldn’t keep up with her neural reflexes, a feeling that was terribly frustrating.

Life got back on track. She’d squeeze in three to five hours every morning for basic physical ability training. Her body’s physical ability was truly lacking; if it were someone with not much willpower, they’d likely give up or be perfunctory. But Su Jiameng was well aware of her current situation. Even if starting over was incredibly tough, she had to grit her teeth and persevere.
