Chapter 6: Chapter 3: My Child Is an Egg (Part 2)

This is the poor planet, not even ranked among the lowest Level Nine planets, with extremely backward technology and an inconsistent network. The people here can only use defective first-generation smart brains.

”Am I still in a virtual game world now?” Su Jiameng muttered to herself, unsure how she should feel.

She confirmed that the body she now inhabited was not her original one, but the smart brain on her wrist was. Did it cross over into this world with her after the explosion? Can someone tell her whether this world is real or fake?

Squatting in place, stunned for a long time, Su Jiameng smiled helplessly, whether it’s real or fake, she’s already living in this world now, with no reason to give up life. As the saying goes, it’s better to live poorly than die well. If those subordinates knew that their former leader lacked the courage to ”live,” they’d likely shout insults at her!

That’s right, Su Jiameng feared neither death nor ”living.”

Thinking of this, her repressed heart relaxed a bit. She should let go of those obsessions and live well from now on, carrying her parents’ and partners’ hopes and aspirations for peace to continue living. Moreover, she now has two... no, two children around her, she should further buck up and continue living. Revived in this body, she should take on all her responsibilities...

Searching through the remainder of memories in her mind, Su Jiameng found that this home was indeed poverty-stricken, a small set-up of two bedrooms and one living room, with furniture only consisting of a sleep platform, two chairs, a dining table, and a cupboard. Things like a wardrobe are out of the question...

”So poor... how to raise children...” Su Jiameng indeed felt somewhat stifled, having no idea how the body’s original owner lived under such conditions. In this case, the words of that aunt seemed true, that the two children would die in the shell! They simply have no chance to hatch and see this world!

In the Earth Era, two bedrooms and one living room were not small, but in the interstellar era, it was the poor class, specifically a barely-living poor class. To solve the residential issues, wherever the Human Alliance resides, they build these little arrangements of poor rental houses, charging residents only 100 to 200 Credit Points monthly...

In fact, those living in these rental houses could apply for poverty assistance, receiving 400 to 1000 Credit Points monthly, making the house practically free to live in! Plus a subsidy! But with two hungry... uh, soon-to-hatch children by Su Jiameng’s side, she needs to buy special Nutrient Liquid to support their absorption and growth, or they’d die in the egg.

”Special baby Nutrient Liquid...” Su Jiameng squeezed her brow in distress, having just researched online that an egg... baby, to crawl out of the shell, requires a long time using Nutrient Liquid. Such babies have naturally superior physical conditions with a high likelihood of becoming a Mecha Master. But the daily share price of the Nutrient Liquid... What the... those zeros directly blinded her eyes!

This is not raising children; it’s burning money! However, to become a Mecha Master, the innate physique must be good; otherwise, the body’s growth can’t match the harsh training of a Mecha Master, resulting in adverse effects, leading to bodily collapse.

Ordinary households choose to birth children after ten months of pregnancy, but after growing up, the child’s intelligence and physique can’t match that of children who hatch from eggs. Therefore, those with wealth and power choose to have a special procedure at a month of pregnancy, bringing a baby the size of an adult’s fist home to raise with Nutrient Liquid.

For the first month after extraction, the eggs can be raised with very cheap Nutrient Liquid until reaching maturity, turning into mature eggs. But once entering maturity, they require very special and precious baby Nutrient Liquid, and without these, the children could die in the shell. Su Jiameng now faces this problem, as the children are nearing maturity.

Sitting cross-legged on the ground with the two eggs in front, she murmured, ”No money, how do I raise you?”

Su Jiameng faced many difficult choices in her past life, yet none involved Credit Points. She had no experience dealing with such matters... Sitting and facing the two eggs for a long time, Su Jiameng finally understood the sentiment of how a single penny can hinder a hero.

She activated the smart brain, contemplating seeking a ray of hope. Unfortunately, this is a famous poor planet, the interstellar network signal is very unstable, the virtual screen crackling a few times before the network broke. She silently lowered her head; even basic web pages couldn’t be opened, let alone exploring ways to earn money in the virtual net. Might she be forced to revert to her old ways, robbing the robbers?

But with this paper-thin body, how could she compete with others? It would surely be a death wish!

Just as Su Jiameng was out of options, a thought quietly emerged. If... if the educational system crossed over with her, there might be a solution. Hesitantly, she raised her left hand, removed the wrist guard to find a very familiar emblem on her wrist. This is the educational system she inadvertently acquired in her second life!

Skillfully accessing the educational system, a standard virtual screen silently appeared. She was familiar with this page, quickly noticing something different... There was an added radiant window on the screen.
