Chapter 16: Chapter 10: This Squad Is Loaded

”Miss CYF2012141150, wait a moment!” K3 stood up to chase after her, really impressing her with his ability to remember Su Jiameng’s lengthy digital nickname.

”Hmm, is there something you need?” Su Jiameng stopped in her tracks, spinning the Mecha Space Hub in her hand, ”Or are you saying your team has already finished considering and decided to accept the terms I proposed?” The two-thirds cut in profits was rather tempting to her.

”Yes, we’ve accepted those terms.” K3 replied with a sour expression. In fact, as soon as Su Jiameng left, he shared the combat record of himself and Su Jiameng, along with her conditions, to the team. After some consideration, they agreed.

Who would’ve thought that Su Jiameng would simply disappear for nearly six hours while going to feed a child, leaving them waiting in vain.

Because someone missed the appointment, the more hot-tempered members of the team were furious and are still arguing now.

”Are they all team members?” Su Jiameng shifted her gaze to the similarly dressed young people, counting K3, there were two males and two females, making four in total, ”They do look quite spirited... Let’s hope we get along well in the future.”

”Yes, let’s get along well.” K3 secretly breathed a sigh of relief, small group battles consist of seven-member and five-member teams. Their team, due to special reasons, was missing one person. Now with Su Jiameng joining, they could participate in the five-member team, ”Let me introduce the team members. This is Xu Na, her nickname is her real name, you can call her Nana.”

K3 pointed at a girl who looked about eighteen or nineteen. She had an individualistic style. On her top half, she wore a tight black vest and a loose green canvas short-sleeved jacket, with a silver waist chain accessory around her waist, paired with very loose green canvas pants, giving off a slightly rebellious vibe.

Just by looking at her eyes, one could feel that this girl named Xu Na wasn’t one to be trifled with, with an air of sharpness about her. Such a girl, if she joined the military, would likely be honed into a rather temperamental queen-like figure.

K3 pointed to the blonde beauty next to Xu Na and said, ”That’s Lucy, Nana’s dorm friend.”

Lucy was a blonde, blue-eyed beauty with a fiery figure, a deeply contoured face, and long hair that draped over her shoulders, dressed boldly, with blue tattoos on her arms. K3 then introduced another male teammate, a big guy nicknamed Xu Lei, who was Xu Na’s older brother.

”I’m Qin Mo. You can also call me K3.” Finally, it was K3’s turn to introduce himself.

Seeing that they had all introduced their real names, Su Jiameng naturally felt she should share hers as well, rather than let them call her by that string of numbers, ”Su Jiameng, you can call me as you like. I just joined today as a newbie in combat, so I’d appreciate your guidance, big brothers and sisters.”

Except for K3, the rest were struck by her sweet ”big brothers and sisters.” Even though she looked very young, someone who can easily defeat Captain K3 and be invited by him surely couldn’t be younger than them?

K3 was the one who awkwardly explained, ”Xiao Meng is only sixteen, a bit younger than everyone else...”

”Wait, sixteen? You previously used the excuse of going to feed your kid, and were gone for five or six hours. You owe us some explanation, don’t you think?” It was Xu Na who spoke, she was also the one arguing earlier. They’ve been unhappy for a while over score matters, especially since a teammate defected mid-match, which made it even worse.

And Su Jiameng’s behavior of standing them up further touched their sensitive nerves, anyone would feel upset by it. Consequently, Xu Na’s tone was a bit stern, though she didn’t harbor any malicious intent.

At sixteen, she was legally still a child. Xu Na turned over the matter in her mind and concluded perhaps she misunderstood. After all, Su Jiameng never said the milk was for her own child... maybe she was taking care of younger siblings or something.

”Haha, well, I can’t help it; those two little ones are just too clingy.” Su Jiameng blurted out, lying through her teeth. As for why she was late, she remained vague. The team members were helpless; they didn’t know Su Jiameng well enough to press for answers.

”I’ve reviewed your combat records; you do have great skills but, to be blunt, your mecha setup isn’t good enough. The opponents in team fights are tough, and I think you’d be better off switching to a more advanced mecha.” Xu Na did not harp on the previous issue and focused on Su Jiameng’s mecha, ”If you’re low on funds, we have some models here you can choose from...”

”Hmm.. I don’t really mind about that.” Su Jiameng’s ace wasn’t just her driving skills; her telekinesis was her biggest asset. To secure victory, she didn’t mind using telekinesis to disable opponents’ mechas, ”But before I choose which mecha I’ll be piloting, I’d like to hear about what each of you specializes in and your primary role in the arena...”
