Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1638: Chapter 216: Ellie Draped in White Robes

Hill quickly understood the purpose of this group of people.

The unpleasantly smelling hot wind from the south suddenly turned into a tropical storm, and someone was triggered again.

’Cunlü’ had no problem feeding the sharks, but the scavenger and greedy sharks actually dropped another piece of meat in their hand when taking fresh meat from her, while the shark-head fed by others chose to drop the harpoon in their other hand!

The Undead Tribe feeding the sharks did not come from the Last-Era Clan... Their clan basically had few swordsmen, and they were all assisting those mages in the fort to fire cannons at that time... So, they were a bit panicked for a while.

After all, when someone is fighting nearby, choosing to discard the only usable weapon in hand is something that seems incredible to anyone with a bit of intelligence.

However, the well-informed Undead Tribe reacted quickly, handing them a second piece of meat and indicating that the second piece was meant for exchanging the rotten meat in their hand.

The shark-heads weren’t so stupid, of course, they would choose to exchange for fresh meat.

Only the white shark chosen by ’Cunlü’ unhesitatingly kicked away the floating rotten meat, wielding their harpoon to prove their mighty and strong nature, claiming they would never resort to eating rotten meat.

Though there was a hint of grievance and regret in their eyes, and even a fierce glance at the fellow picking up the rotten meat to exchange for fresh meat with the Undead Tribe, this white shark warrior still staunchly maintained their image of generosity, not rushing to fight with that sneaky grey shark.

’Cunlü’ smiled charmingly, rifling through her small bag, finding a gigantic piece of meat nearly four times larger than those in the hands of other sharks, and handed it to the white shark warrior: ”A brave and smart shark, deservedly praised.”

The white shark warrior decisively shoved the smaller piece of meat into their mouth, swallowing it in a few bites, happily receiving their prize afterward... Though they remembered to maintain their majestic image, fresh meat is not something to discard casually.

In Aesces’s ocean, finding fresh, non-smelly meat is extremely difficult... Even though those giant sea monsters are half-rotted, they still need to eat.

Then these sea monsters began battling together due to special circumstances.

Most of the slightly larger shoals were swept clean by these creatures, and fish capable of reaching the deep sea had long gone down.

The overly deep ocean can’t be entered by all sharks!

Then humans hadn’t gone to the sea for a long time, and those appearing in the ocean were all those who vanish after dying!

Nothing but inexplicable light remains on the sea surface!

Sharks formerly followed Triton because they were always fed well!

Hence, when Ambori assimilated them, no shark showed resistance... Of course, it was also due to Ambori giving them a strange sense of recognition: once the light landed on them, the sharks knew they would survive by following her!

Evidently, not struggling was correct.

They hadn’t eaten such fresh and good meat for a long time... Though they’d eaten some food yesterday, it was just random dry rations taken from the Undead Tribe’s bag, which sharks enjoyed, but human food’s aroma can’t compare to that of meat!

’Hard Wind’ turned and looked: ”The sharks from the north are coming this way too, do you have enough meat in hand?”

”It’s enough.” ’Qiuqiu’ replied sluggishly, ”Your wife’s got no pieces that big, we’ve all bought standard feed blocks, one kilogram each.”

”Cunlü has the Duchess’s snacks.” ’Hard Wind’ answered with a smile, ”Feeding her requires larger servings, otherwise it’s too tiring.”

The most troublesome part is that the Duke can directly toss food into a large bath and slowly gnaw on it himself, while the Duchess is spoiled by ’Cunlü’, becoming very particular... Eating and drinking require those specially crafted, intricately carved large princess-style or queen-style utensils.

Moreover, such large and perfectly shaped pieces of meat, where can you buy them outside?

’Cunlü’, though she wouldn’t throw everything for him to slice, and would sometimes do it herself, the difference in strength attributes is there... A proper Priest wouldn’t boost strength nor spend much money on strength potions... So the majority of the work falls on him.

Life is just that helpless at times, but ’Hard Wind’ can only accept willingly, then figure out ways to resolve it... There’s no help for it, when he first smiled and opened his mouth to Hill for his apprentice, it destined their fate in this game... Those who buy artificial planets as pig farms probably haven’t raised as many pigs as heavily as he did... No, rather haven’t raised them as heavily.

’Qiuqiu’ somewhat knew a bit, so just sympathetically glanced at ’Hard Wind’ and shifted the topic: ”Ah, very interesting, despite the wind being so strong, the heat is too intense, it seems the threat from the wind isn’t as significant!”

’Hard Wind’ gave her a glance, swallowing back what was on the tip of his tongue... Why does the topic shift so foolishly?

No wonder Old Dog always says she’s a silly ball.

”Feng!” ’Cunlü’ turned around and waved, ”Locke agreed to help me communicate with his clan, and to exchange rotten meat with us for normal food when encountered.

He said it doesn’t necessarily have to be terrestrial meat, even shells and crabs are fine, as long as the quantity matches.

”””

”But they don’t want human food... The feeling of spices mixed with seawater is not much different from rotten flesh, they prefer fresh.”

’Hard Wind’ raised an eyebrow, smiling and nodding.

Then he looked at ’Qiuqiu’, who was smiling at their couple’s conversation, and asked in astonishment, ”Aren’t you going to report to Old Dog? Didn’t he let you come for this?”

”Ah!” ’Qiuqiu’ frantically pulled out her tablet, ”I promised Old Dog a live broadcast! Forgot while feeding sharks! Ahhhhh~ I’m doomed!”

Then she was scolded violently by Snow Old Dog who had been waiting on the other side for a long time... This time it was truly full firepower, nothing comparable to the usual sarcastic level, ’Qiuqiu’ transitioned from her initial apologetic look to an angrily glaring, menacing expression... Though she dared not talk back, her expression showed she wanted to kill the dog.

’Cunlü’ couldn’t help but exchange a tacit look with ’Hard Wind’: People like ’Qiuqiu’, careless and forgetful, are the standard candidates to follow Old Dog.

Because such people don’t hold grudges.

Although she also doesn’t remember things.

Hence, ’Susu’ could stand out within two years of entering the Magic Cult and become Snow Old Dog’s main assistant, considering that girl is much more meticulous.

So when the rumor said she met Old Dog in real life and began to like him due to certain events, almost nobody doubted it.

Without a hundred and eighty layers of filter, normal people, even those who once liked Old Dog like ’Qiuqiu’, would swiftly tear apart any such admiration.

’Cunlü’ really experienced separating human lips from dog lips for the first time... Mind you, the elders and Baldy from their Black Rose are also quite sharp-tongued, yet they don’t even match Old Dog one tenth.

Fortunately, Old Dog’s torrent of words was finally dissipated by a gust of fervent wind.

’Hard Wind’ quickly pushed ’Cunlü’ behind him, reversed his grip to wield his Great Shield and Great Sword, and initiated the Shield Wall directly on the ground.

Although the swords in the swordsmen’s hands varied in length and thickness, they were ready for battle.

The Sharkmen peered around, suddenly all rushing back into the seawater, clearly intending to swim back to the small nests already being built within the Endless Vines.

’Qiuqiu’ quickly began Casting Spells... She wasn’t actually that useless; as a management figure specifically beside Old Dog within the Magic Cult, her main role was Defensive Mage, able to easily release a few simple Defensive Magic Arrays by hand.

This time it’s also because ’Snow Cloud Peak’ is technically on the front lines, yet the chances of enemies bypassing the winding cliffs directly targeting him are not high, thus ’Qiuqiu’ was arranged to take action.

Though frustrated with Snow Old Dog’s words, being someone who followed their Clan Leader for so long, ’Qiuqiu’ was principled... Generally speaking, it’d be her first to die, then Old Dog.

People in the Magic Cult, despite having an unusual style, typically only act underhandedly after the battle ends, often resulting in their Clan Leader dying a few extra times.

’Hard Wind’ took a couple of glances and began directing swordsmen positioning... In a Defensive Mage’s array, if there is power supply on those nodes, it can significantly enhance the defense strength.

And their Undead Tribe’s bodies are the simplest charge devices.

’Qiuqiu’s reaction was still a bit late... He already heard the sarcastic sneers from Snow Old Dog through the tablet: ”Are you, a mage, being taught by a knight how to use an array?

Tell me, are you useless?”

’Hard Wind’ wasn’t unwilling to give ’Qiuqiu’ a chance, yet... Isn’t the hurricane already at the doorstep?

Compared to his and his wife’s lives, ’Qiuqiu’s self-esteem issues were better set aside for now... Striving to stand at the forefront, ’Hard Wind’ thought emotionlessly as his cloak behind was nearly twisted into a braid by the raging wind.

Golden Spring Water light rose behind him, a pair of delicate small hands reached to his neck and gently unclasped and took away the cloak covering his shoulders.

’Hard Wind’ smiled faintly, nudged his body forward, allowing ’Cunlü’ to deftly sit onto his shoulders.

This height was just right to let her see every swordsman behind, enabling her to timely supplement every warrior with the Spring Water seal.

In the fierce wind, her beautiful butterfly back was strikingly splendid as she gracefully and swiftly moved.

Perhaps stimulated by such beauty, the enemy long hidden within the storm finally appeared before the Undead Tribe.

That was... Ellie clad in a white strapless long dress, its skirt slitted up to the thigh.
