Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Capítulo 1619: Chapter 197: The Impending Traders

Watching the Undead Tribe members take various postures, even going so far as to swallow potions for fast swimming to quickly shuttle through the seabed, Hill very generously waited in the air for them for an entire day before speaking to return to the city.

To Hill’s pleasant surprise, not a single member of the Undead Tribe mentioned plans to “die back” so that Hill didn’t have to wait. Instead, they all climbed up the vines hanging from the Cloud Platform within half an hour of Hill’s voice reaching their ears.

Therefore, on the way back to the city, Hill even let them watch a battle between a sea monster and some sharks… which were obviously from the Triton faction.

Otherwise, ordinary marine creatures, even those without intelligence, would quickly flee at the sight of a sea monster.

Without Triton’s protection and blessing, encountering a sea monster meant not just being unable to fight back and becoming food but actually being transformed into one of them.

As soon as a wound appears, they might be directly assimilated.

So, whenever you see such a war between giant sea beasts, the side that isn’t decaying must be intelligent creatures… It’s clear they’ve long sided with Triton.

Especially sharks, almost all species have pledged allegiance to Triton, the newly ascended lord of the sea.

However, Hill could understand their choice.

Look, indeed many marine creatures persisted in not abandoning Aesces, the innate Goddess of the Sea, and their fate was a decaying body and losing control of their nerves… worse than puppets.

In theory, sharks aren’t as intelligent as whales, yet those here in Aesces seem to have reacted quickly, with even great white sharks obediently following Triton.

Standing on the Cloud Platform for half a day, an undead curiously asked, “Hill, these sharks’ tactics seem to resemble wolf packs!”

“These are blacktip sharks, likely commanded by their clan leader.” Hill glanced over, responding slowly, “But the real damage is inflicted by that giant-toothed shark hiding among the shark group.

Looks like Triton is calling for an all-out war from his followers, otherwise, giant-toothed sharks wouldn’t act with smaller ones.”

“Small?” ‘Yunfeng’ was a bit surprised, “Is three meters considered small? They seem much smaller in other worlds!”

“The fish blessed by the Sea God grow a bit larger,” Hill glanced at him, “Besides, haven’t you seen the sea monsters from Teraxil? How could you ask such a question?”

“Tsk, Teraxil’s magical beasts are one-of-a-kind,” ‘Yunfeng’ couldn’t help but retort, “Only our Teraxil has such intelligent yet enormous creatures!”

‘Perfect Bald’ sighed: “Ah~ indeed rare, my tiger wouldn’t dare appear in Toril.”

People nearby couldn’t help but laugh.

His big tiger was initially friendly with that orc brother, even willing to share some inheritance memories, like how they thrived in Teraxil… until the Tiger Tribe came with a bunch of descendants.

Each bearing the same face as him, with tigresses… erect ones… trying to breed with him.

Since, although he’s in beast form, he has intelligence, his offspring might become Beastmen… And this Orc Tribe received blessings from the Chief Orc God, ensuring no more tigers would be born.

That means, his offspring with the female Beastmen would be Beastmen, with very high blood concentration – inherently powerful warriors!

‘Perfect Bald’s tiger, who couldn’t be bothered with real tigresses, wouldn’t compromise.

So he never appeared in Toril again, preferring to stay in ‘Perfect Bald’s’ Pet Space, licking his paws.

Hill silently turned his head.

The Undead spoke casually about the Chief Orc God and those magical beasts, but he couldn’t.

Even if he repaid Gewoosh with a slap, Hill still felt quite displeased recalling the past.

Even though Teraxil has now found a way to control these magical beasts… as long as those beasts take a leaf from the World Tree in Teraxil before breaking through to demigod, they’ll notice anything amiss before being controlled by Gewoosh and can hide in the World Tree’s Dimensional Space.

Such a choice is hard for many beasts to bear… They do revere the Goddess of the Earth but aren’t willing to give up their bestial nature entirely.

However, the Dimensional Space within the World Tree is virtually half a Divine Kingdom, and beastliness will gradually dissipate.

Thus, many beasts in Teraxil delay becoming demigods as much as possible, since being Legendary already offers a long lifespan.

But that means Teraxil will always have this hidden danger.

Some magical beasts will never yield to fate.

Yet, the land goddess who has accommodated humans and their pantheon for so many years won’t be harsh with the beasts… As long as they don’t overstep, they’ll be forgiven, not to mention rebellious magical beasts haven’t appeared yet!

The noble sacrifice of the White Wolf King in the Abyss, and the Silvermoon Wolf God still over Silvermoon, created a tolerant environment for the magical beasts.

Regarding this, Hill has maintained his stance.

But he also knows that for the Teraxil Earth Goddess, having humans and magical beasts counterbalance is no bad thing.

After all, elves are still around… conflicts between humans and magical beasts won’t exceed boundaries.

Even Gewoosh won’t easily cause trouble, giving elves a chance.

Conversely, elves won’t have huge conflicts with humans either, or else, if an uncontrollable King of Magical Beasts emerged… considering Gewoosh’s current interest in Teraxil, who these beasts would attack first isn’t even a question.

Hill sighed silently, watching a sea beast on the brink of death, bitten in the heart by a giant-toothed shark, speaking softly: “This kind of hunt, the shark group can’t last long. Their endurance has always been lacking.”

‘Lu Huayu’ nodded in agreement: “Moreover, it’s hard for them to maintain such cross-species cooperation.

Giant-toothed sharks eat smaller ones.”

“Based on your understanding, how long can they last?” ‘Yunfeng’ couldn’t help but ask.

“Three days.”

“Ah? Oh… that fast?” ‘Yunfeng’ was extremely surprised, “Aren’t there divine will guiding them?”

“Without it, they’d have already started fighting amongst themselves.” ‘Lu Huayu’ pursed his lips, “The bigger the shark, the lower the intelligence.

They can’t eat sea beasts, small sharks can hunt fish schools, but a giant-toothed shark can consume as much as a group… In three days, even the most patient large sharks will be starving.”

“I get it, they’re still controlled by the food chain. They might be smarter, but only beast-level intelligence, right?” ‘Yunfeng’ thought thoughtfully, “So at most, Triton can hold them for a week before releasing them?”

“Old Dog!” ‘Qiuqiu’ suddenly shouted, “The messengers sent by those families have arrived in Basia City, they’re planning to head to Cain Valley tomorrow.”

“Hmm?” ‘Lu Huayu’ also took out a tablet, “Ah… Ditte sent a message.

Lucimar agreed to lead those people and asked Ditte if he’d like to come to the valley.

Ditte is a bit confused… The letter Lind asked Thunder to deliver last time probably contained a lot of information.

He’s asking me whether to stop this or let him do something…”

“Isn’t Lind’s castle ready for visitors?” ‘Yunfeng’ turned to ask.

“The kids can serve tea and water, but a formal banquet or ball isn’t something they can manage yet.” ‘Lu Huayu’ said slowly and carefully, “Besides, Lind might not want these people entering his castle.”

“That kid is always so discerning!” ‘Yunfeng’ wasn’t bothered by Lu Eunuch’s words, “Ditte shouldn’t have any issues, right?”

“Do you want Ditte to escort them with the Knight Corps?” ‘Lu Huayu’ disagreed, “Before Lind develops independent abilities, it’s best not to let dependent people appear by his side.”

“True enough.” ‘Yunfeng’ quickly abandoned this idea, then happily asked, “Has it rained in Basia City now?”

“Tsunamis don’t bring rainwater, otherwise, how could Basia experience drought?” someone asked, not understanding.

“Your brain, please use it, don’t be denser than that sea monster below!” ‘Yunfeng’ said speechlessly, “Basia’s plants have all overheated to death!

They don’t lack water!

On the coast, a 0-ring Mage Apprentice can convert enough water to supply thousands in a day!”
