Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Capítulo 1625: Chapter 203: Black and White Path to the Desert

‘Snow Cloud Peak’ blinked and issued a warning to himself internally.

Thinking he could casually seek out Hill to question Rose was indeed quite presumptuous… That’s a notorious Spider Queen, even if she wouldn’t target Little Bear, it doesn’t mean she wouldn’t trip up William through him.

Though always knowing the high-level NPCs in this game are acted out by corresponding AI brains, he still loses some vigilance because he knows they’re NPCs. He can’t continue like this.

Of course, Rose’s conspiracy isn’t scary. Her strongest trait is her shamelessness, daring to do anything… The reason ‘Snow Cloud Peak’ loses cautiousness is he genuinely doesn’t think her schemes qualify as real conspiracies.

But, how to say it… shameless people would never blame their failures on their own mistakes; the norm is to toss the blame onto others, irrelevant to reason.

Hill is certainly not afraid of Rose’s conspiracy, but he also doesn’t want to draw the Spider Queen’s attention to his own house over small matters.

After all, that thing wouldn’t die, right?

‘Snow Cloud Peak’ earnestly said, “I understand, Hill. No matter what’s in my mind, at least on the surface, I should show some respect.”

Hill sighed internally but understood that for the Undead Tribe who don’t regard this world as reality, achieving this much is already quite reasonable.

Luckily, the Undead Tribe realizes that these AI brains… William has always claimed every independent, competent NPC is controlled by a specialized AI brain, some stronger, some weaker… Even if their plotting isn’t as strong, their computing power is undoubtedly much superior.

Anyway, he has said all he had to say. As for what the Undead Tribe will do in the future, that’s within William’s concerns.

With William’s responsiveness and having Shaer by his side, knowledgeable about the Multiverse, he shouldn’t make any major blunders.

Hill slowly opened his mouth: “I won’t actively seek out Rose regarding this.

But if I encounter her outside, I’ll ask her for you.”

‘Snow Cloud Peak’ politely bid farewell to Hill, still somewhat puzzled internally… Hill and the bloodline of that Viola truly have no other issues!

Yet he always felt there’s something off about Viola; her temperament doesn’t resemble Moon Elves, nor Earth Bears, and isn’t quite like pure Elves either.

But Hill doesn’t lie.

Tsk~ the probe failed.

But it’s fine.

Actually, during the Undead Tribe’s discussions, they didn’t really want Hill to have Zholar Divine System’s bloodline… There’s another reason for their suspicion.

It’s because Villon and Elisui’s trust in Hill seems a bit high.

Elisui is understandable; if Celene says Hill can be trusted, she’d probably have no doubts.

But Villon, eh~

If he were so easily trusting, he’d never have reached where he is today!

However, he obediently stays in Agleya acting as his black cat, even when Hill leaves, and All Gods depart, he doesn’t make a move.

The Undead Tribe discusses endlessly, feeling something’s amiss though… but Hill never lies!

Forget it, at least the apparent goal is achieved. He never intended for Hill to actively seek out Rose; as long as he asks a few questions if encountered, that’s enough.

After all, Lucy is just a side character, whether the side quest is understood isn’t crucial.

Anyway, the actual monitor of Lucimar’s biological mother is Aesces itself, isn’t it?

‘Snow Cloud Peak’ does feel a bit regretful… He thought Aesces might assign this task to that Ismael!

Indeed, the Earth Deity System is quite considerate to its own people.

What a pity.

‘Snow Cloud Peak’ can only carry this slight regret back, preparing to welcome those distanced guests bringing themselves here.

The guests’ first impression upon entering Cain Valley is the imposing Force of Nature.

After such prolonged drought, it’s their first time seeing a city so fully greened.

Streets and alleys are lined with walls of colorful Lily of the Valley and large Jasmine flowers… complimenting nearby building colors.

None in the Danboro envoy lacks information about Lily of the Valley, so even with envy, jealousy, or resentment, no one dares to pluck a single flower, exhibiting noble composure in front of these green plants.

After all, while they may not know which is real, they surely know there must be one.

Danboro Nobility, in some sense, aren’t too difficult to handle.

Of course, easy to deal with doesn’t mean they’re good people.

But this sort tangled in profit, without real strength of their own, these nobles are cleaned out like flicking fingers by the Undead Tribe.

They’re not as troublesome as those from Toril… lacking the courage, they wouldn’t think of latching onto some devil or demon to force the Undead Tribe to give up their territory.

This is about the Kalinsanians and the Anmur people who began to have their own thoughts.

Compared to those who suddenly turned hostile, these Danboro nobles who spoke ambiguously and acted shamelessly were nothing… A serious, icy stare was enough to make these nobles, who were trying to find loopholes, instantly back off.

The intelligence in the possession of ‘Snow Cloud Peak’ was extremely comprehensive.

Even the gods of Aesces couldn’t transmit messages as fast as the Undead Tribe.

They couldn’t win in a fight, and they couldn’t bring out their backers… Crystalline weapons could indeed harm the Undead, but they did not want to defect to Scaret, so how could they openly defy the World Master’s will?

After struggling for a few days, the nobles, seeing that the contracts, while not very lucrative, were indeed beneficial, silently bowed their heads.

Lucimar Ismail, who was of interest to ‘Snow Cloud Peak,’ didn’t care what his brothers and sisters were doing; he simply wandered silently in Cain Valley every day.

His main purpose for coming here was to import some fruits, vegetables, and magic plants from the Proud Sky Alliance, showing no interest in matters concerning the desert.

So much so that, no matter how Lucy tried to persuade him, he firmly refused to venture into the desert.

“What’s in the desert?” ‘Snow Cloud Peak’ murmured softly, standing atop the command tower.

“Locusts, scorpions, the Lord of Insects?” ‘Mobi Chenxin,’ who happened to be walking by, answered inexplicably, “Didn’t you already know?”

“Aesces believes those insects appeared because he cut off communication with the Water Elemental Plane by linking with the Earth Elemental Plane,” ‘Snow Cloud Peak’ pondered, “He doesn’t think any deities from other worlds could bypass him in matters of earth.

Otherwise, Gaia wouldn’t have started from the sea; after all, she is the Earth Mother Goddess.”

“Speaking of which, is she controlling the people here with the power of that Goddess of Lust?” ‘Mobi Chenxin’ scratched his head, “So is it just some abilities of Aphrodite, or is Aphrodite herself involved with Aesces?

Or, has Gaia already devoured the so-called Goddess of Love and Beauty?

It wouldn’t be surprising, considering she’s part of her husband.”

“Wait a minute~” ‘Snow Cloud Peak’ suddenly turned and looked at him, “Say that again?”

“Say what? The female mantis or the Black Widow Spider?” ‘Mobi Chenxin’ replied straightforwardly.

“It seems like the missing piece of the puzzle is starting to come together~” ‘Snow Cloud Peak’ muttered to himself, “Terry should be grateful that he prefers creating one himself rather than having children with women.

Otherwise… he might have to experience the blade of the female mantis~

Gaia, is your control over the roles of Earth and Mother Goddess slipping?

Considering that petty Zeus has been trying to strip her control over the earth by any means, especially his mother Rhea, it’s difficult for Gaia to compete with the always gentle Rhea for the role of Mother.

That’s why she’s so urgently seeking Uranus and Cronus.

If she can’t find them, she wants to achieve the union of Heaven and Earth again… Aphrodite can indeed be used, but it’s not enough… So, she’s always searching for these radical and selfish women~

Could tales of killing one’s husband truly become legendary?”

“What do you mean?” ‘Mobi Chenxin’ couldn’t understand what he was saying, “Hey~ if you keep this up, I’m really going to doubt if we’re playing the same game!”

“Tsk~” ‘Snow Cloud Peak’ sneered, “Playing games without studying strategies—what are you playing at?

Why did you come to see me?

Do you want to go to the desert?

What do you want me to do?”

‘Mobi Chenxin,’ having his purpose revealed, let out a couple of helpless laughs: “Old Dog, I’m now no different from Baldy back then, right?

I’ve already surrendered and paid a price no less than Baldy did back then, so please… don’t be so sarcastic, okay?

If you agree, I do want to take my family to the desert, but… I don’t plan on leaving the Proud Sky Alliance, not now or in the future.

I must consider the family members who have been with me for so many years… Although the rewards by the seaside are not small, you seem to have your own agenda and don’t intend to prioritize military exploits, do you?

But our people from the Black and White Path have already fallen too far behind.”

He quietly looked out the window: “Falling behind once or twice might not matter, but constantly lagging behind, the Black and White Path might just dissolve.

I can certainly bear such a result, after all, it’s my own mess.

But for those family members who have always trusted and followed me, I don’t want them to leave with regrets.”

‘Snow Cloud Peak’ looked at him: “You should understand that I won’t give people endless chances. After you say this, if any issues arise again, the next time… it might not be an accident that deals you a heavy blow.”

‘Mobi Chenxin’ pursed his lips, lightly sighed: “Of course, I know, there are so many precedents!

But truthfully, I no longer have any ambitions… I just want to make up for past regrets.

The Black and White Path is hardly recruiting people anymore.”
