Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1487: Chapter 65: Visitors Known as the Moon Clan

Ellie’s voice was very loud.

Even Hill next door was startled by her thunderous shout.

However, he could understand the young girl’s panic... With her talents, coupled with the Stelter Family’s massive resource consumption, she managed to become an official mage at the age of 22.

If a large number of these professionals appearing five levels per day were to emerge, wouldn’t the Stelter Family’s years of efforts become a complete joke?

As Hill looked over, he saw Lind, dressed in a robe with a fierce expression, looking up at Ellie and shouting loudly, ”Ellie! Are you under an illusion technique?

Alchemist Association hasn’t been overcome by Silk Spiders, right?”

He then quickly ran down the corridor, ”Teacher! Teacher! Help! My sister’s gone mad!”

Yanos, the middle-aged male mage who had already been alarmed, reluctantly put on a mask and came to the corridor, ”Wait, I have a sobriety potion here, send it up to Ellie first.”

”I’m not under an illusion!” Ellie shouted angrily from the terrace, looking at her brother’s antics, ”I have Wendy with me! Elemental creatures won’t be fooled!”

Helena glanced at Lind, who was crazily running up with the potion, and turned her head with a gentle smile toward Ellie, ”Regardless of whether you’re under an illusion technique, just drink a bottle for Lind’s sake of caring for you, okay? Anyway, sobriety potions don’t have any side effects, right? Ellie.”

Ellie blinked her eyes, ”Mom... even if I were under an illusion technique, I wouldn’t be foolish enough to believe that.”

However, looking at the potion her little brother was holding in front of her face, Ellie took it with a numb face and drank it in one gulp, ”Just for the sake of Lind’s rare humaneness!”

Lind didn’t care about his sister’s mockery, he seriously watched Ellie’s expression, with one hand resting on a longsword hanging at his waist at some point, and the other hand behind his back.

The housekeeper carefully recognized and said in a delicate voice, ”Why does Young Master Lind have a moonlight potion?”

”Lind always cared a lot about his face,” Helena also lowered her voice, ”I’m not surprised he has it, but the fact that he took it out intending to splash it on Ellie when he knows this thing is useful against spiders... Ah, is my youngest son a bit more normal now?”

”Half, maybe?” The housekeeper answered sincerely, ”Young Master probably wishes more than anyone else that Miss Ellie really was under an illusion technique.”

Helena sighed, ”Why do you insist on making me face reality?”

”Perhaps because someone in the family must remain rational? And that’s the mission of a housekeeper.” The housekeeper smiled, ”If Ted were here, I wouldn’t have to say this.”

Lind, furious, turned to look at Helena, ”Mom!”

”Ah, it seems Ellie wasn’t under an illusion,” Helena smiled and shrugged, ”You see, dear Lind, compared to Ellie, who is disappointed but can still accept reality, you schemed behind the scenes and offended all your relatives, and you’re even less able to accept this outcome, right?

So, even the coldest people hesitate when they want to harm relatives who have been pretty good to them... Even if not for so-called love, at least there’s someone to share the trouble once something happens.”

She looked at Lind with a particularly gentle and amiable smile, ”Now, do you understand that relatives are still important?”

Lind’s chest shook heavily... Finally, he slapped the moonlight potion onto the desk, ”Here, for you, I’m going back to sleep!”

”That won’t do, stay here and listen,” Yanos pushed the door open and walked in, ”Ellie, what exactly did the Alchemist Association say?”

Ellie’s full excitement had been completely cooled by the commotion, she walked slowly to a soft single sofa and sat down heavily, ”Great Sage Ismael said he received permissions from two worlds... Aesces and the world he originally came from... summoned a large number of humans from that world to come to Aesces to help.

Because they are using bodies formed by elemental power provided by Aesces, their levels rise relatively fast.”

”Elemental Body?” Yanos couldn’t help but glance at the wind elemental creature hanging beside Ellie’s ear.

”Not the same as elemental creatures, it should actually be an alchemical body.” Ellie sighed, ”The Alchemist Association isn’t clear about the specifics either, these are all introduced by Great Sage Ismael when he publicly talked about the origins of those strange people.”

”Is it like magicians with fixed promotion routes? Should be somewhat weaker, right?” Yanos thought for a while before speaking again.

”The Alchemist Association people say Chairman Finch’s judgment is similar to Teacher’s... They’ve already gone to the castle to find Little Finch, I guess Father will soon know.”

”Is there anything special?” Helena asked, ”Can alchemical bodies handle Silk Spiders?”

”Great Sage Ismael referred to them as guests brought by the moonlight... shortened to Moon Clan.” Ellie looked up with a puzzled face, ”Their elemental bodies, regardless of the primary element, can enchant their weapons with the power of moonlight... Pandia blessed them, and this is their innate talent.”

”What does ’ransacking the place’ mean?” Lind suddenly asked.

”They seem not to regard civilians as people, they rush into the house to find whatever they want when the owner is still home... And then they want everything.

It’s said they’d even pick up a cleaning cloth to look at... If not for the smell too... they’d even take it.”

”What about Great Sage Ismael? Doesn’t he control them?” Yanos asked puzzledly.

”The Alchemist Association people say even Great Sage didn’t anticipate this situation; he thought these people would understand what gentlemanly behavior meant... However, apparently not.

So later he came out to take all those people back to his Magic Tower, to establish some rules for them.

Also, to appease the frightened citizens, he explained so much.”

”Isn’t this what should have been done from the beginning?” Lind’s tone was icy.

”Well, if it’s that Great Sage, it’s no surprise.” Yanos pondered as he spoke, ”The unparalleled talent and luck have shaped Great Sage Ismael of today. He is accustomed to charging forward heedlessly.

Just wait to resolve things as they arise; after all, his luck will ensure he doesn’t fail.

As for whether anyone will suffer in between... well, it won’t be anyone he cares about; the Great Sage won’t be bothered by such trivial matters.”

”All talk, but you still haven’t said how many people there are! Ellie.” Helena asked anxiously touching the smooth desk.

Facing the gazes of everyone, Ellie managed a bleak smile, ”One hundred thousand.”

”What?” Helena couldn’t contain herself and stood up abruptly, ”One hundred thousand? Is he insane?”

”And more will come in the future.” Ellie leaned back against the sofa, covering her eyes with one hand, despair evident in her voice, ”Great Sage Ismael said his homeland has always been interested in a world like ours, so millions, maybe even tens of millions, aren’t out of the question!”

”Is he... truly insane?” Helena’s tone wavered, ”How could Aesces allow him to do this?

Might as well let the Scaret People rule the world!

Triton... should be able to drown those spiders too!”

”To the World Will, Triton is the real trouble here.” Yanos stiffly replied, ”As for the trouble brought by the Moon Clan, to him, it’s merely a momentary pain.

But with the Silk Spider calamity, the world couldn’t possibly develop rapidly anymore.

So, pausing for a while longer wouldn’t matter to him.”

”But what about us?” Ellie murmured softly.

”So, if the World Will decides against it, these people will be sent away immediately?” Lind’s spirit lifted a bit, ”And their power can’t be taken away?”

”You always focus only on power.” Yanos glanced at his troublesome student, ”But you need to understand, the larger their number, the more energy Aesces will consume... For the world, this energy will remain its own in the future, so naturally, it doesn’t care.

But for us, it’s different... Prices, especially those of resources containing energy, will surely skyrocket.

Moreover, the most crucial thing is whether Great Sage Ismael can control these people...”

The Alchemist, who had suffered a lot, pressed both hands on his knees, looking bewildered, ”They don’t even regard civilians as people now.

And when they reach level 10? With so many people... Will they care about the lives of us professionals and nobles?

Who can stop them?

No matter how powerful Crystalline Weapons are... Can they really threaten them?

Just as long as one percent of them have personalities similar to Delgado...

I simply can’t imagine!”

Helena frowned and spoke, ”Ellie, take over here temporarily.”

”Mom?”

”I’m heading to the castle.” Helena’s expression was resolute, ”If truly necessary, we’ll flatten where the castle stands, completely hollow it out!

No matter what lies beneath, the Stelter Family can do without it... just as long as the castle is rebuilt within three months!

Then surround the foot of the hill with thick walls, and arm them with Crystal Cannons!

Stockpile enough food for everyone to last three years... Surely we’ll survive then?”

”Thank goodness the capital is relatively far.” The housekeeper sighed.

”Hiding... will it work?” Ellie looked up and asked, ”Great Sage Ismael shouldn’t let things deteriorate to that extent, right?”

”Prepare for the worst first!” Helena said tightly.

Ellie blinked and turned to look towards the port.

”In such a time, you better not go looking for that Number 18!” Lind suddenly spoke up, ”The eyes of All Gods will surely keep an eye on Basia!

Our family can’t afford more trouble!”

Helena, who had already reached the doorway, suddenly turned back, ”Who? What Number 18?

Wait, Scaret?

Ellie?

Ellie!”

”Just an acquaintance; he’s been to the Hall of Abundance a few times, came to discuss some deals with me.” Ellie blinked, ”Nothing else involved.”
