Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1472: Chapter 50: Hill Praises Rose

Hill always thought it was understandable that the God of Nobility was so proactive during the disaster involving the White Wolf God, but it was a little puzzling that the Elven God King, who usually lacked affection for Teraxil, also worked so hard.

Although he didn’t usually care if harming someone would benefit him, there should have been some entanglement, right?

Although it was said it was to suppress the resurrection of the Goddess of the Earth and the Goddess of the Silvermoon, Hill always felt it was a bit forced… how should I say, the White Wolf God exhibited abilities that hadn’t reached that level.

The Silvermoon Wolf God, his hidden little brother, was the real trump card, yet outsiders were truly unaware, including his wife, the Lake Goddess’s sister, the Goddess of the Spring, who was equally kept in the dark.

The Goddess of the Hunt once mentioned that the Lord of the Moon Elves, at Westaria’s request, exerted special effort during that time… Even though her perspective was always a bit skewed, failing to understand that the God of Nobility had his own thoughts and wasn’t truly seduced by the Lord of the Moon Elves, nor did she grasp why the Lord of the Moon Elves claimed to act on behalf of her, the Goddess of the Hunt, while doing something that would tarnish her reputation even more.

So, was the Elven God King striving to break the particularly strong Crystal Wall that had sealed Teraxil later on, to pull in an elf fleet wandering outside, which led to his proactive efforts?

This World Tree, capable of transforming into a spaceship, could carry so many elves because the Pureblood Elves could revert to a fruit state for a certain time, hanging back on the branches… as long as the World Tree remained alive, it was merely a matter of them taking a nap.

But there’s a time limit too, at most 500 years, and if the bloodline level of the elves isn’t high enough, they have to awaken after 200 years… And their lifetime allows for just three such periods of sleep.

The elves that left the World of Aesces must quickly find a new world to inhabit… Teraxil’s environment truly suits elf survival.

The most crucial point is, although elves innately love freedom, they don’t mind surrendering under Coron’s offspring… only the Divine Child’s accompanying World Tree is the true Tree of Deities.

If one could merge their ordinary World Tree, with an immense level difference, into part of the Divine Tree, transforming from a limited lifespan ordinary elf to a High Elf capable of living at least ten thousand years… the elves from Aesces, upon discovering the welcoming smile from Westaria, would undoubtedly enthusiastically rush forward.

Then, while humans clashed with magical beasts, the Elven God King could watch in satisfaction as their repaired, normalized spaceship tree, ready to once again carry his people away from the perpetually collapsing Teraxil, brings a smile to his face.

This indeed surpasses having elves attempt to defeat the Earth Bear.

Although Westaria wasn’t planning to act… the world would only place guilt on the elf who took action and the Elf Queen who gave orders, ultimately fostering resentment towards them from the subordinate planets of the World Tree Pantheon.

Hill worked hard on the paper to depict the timeline of Teraxil… especially, when exactly did the elves completely give up chasing and hunting the Earth Bear, allowing young bears like Aurelio to dare venture away from their nests alone.

It seems it was indeed over a thousand years ago.

But Westaria should have already been prepared to recruit foreigners.

Hill pressed his chin against the Crystal Pen in deep thought… Why did the elves in the past prefer to hunt the Earth Bear at the risk of degeneration rather than recruit, but later became willing?

Was it due to the constant stability offered by the Goddess of the Hunt?

Though she committed numerous foolish acts, she remained present… regardless of her foolishness, neither Teraxil’s Silvermoon nor the Earth ever cursed her.

The gentle Earth forgiveness was extended to her, considering she genuinely lacked brains.

The chaotic Silvermoon also generously forgave her, perhaps thinking, if not for the Goddess of the Silvermoon’s own reckless behavior, the Moon Elves wouldn’t have turned out this way.

She remained constant, and the Elven God King could only humor her… no one dared to openly disdain Moon Elves in front of her.

Thus, the elves could only watch as most of their descendants turned into hybrids… hybrids unable to return to their Divine Tree.

While a small number of Pureblood Elves were retained to harness the forces necessary for the World Tree spaceship’s departure, if an external Elf World Tree merged, those outsider elves could effortlessly integrate into that branch and become official crew of the spaceship.

Isn’t this a global farce?

If that day truly arrives, necessitating departure from Teraxil, they can only watch others commandeer their ship?

Hence, the previous Elf Queen’s eruption wasn’t merely due to emotional disputes!

Indeed, reaching that stage after surviving so many years under double suppression from the Elven God King and the Goddess of the Hunt, the Elf Queen hardly concerned with affections.

And the relationship between the Elven God King and that Lady of Nature isn’t born of lust but an inevitable outcome of two worlds’ elves merging?

Tut~

Hill smacked the table… No wonder Coron didn’t comment on the Elven God King’s actions, only criticized his foolishness in offending the World Tree!

And then he laughed joyfully.

Hehe~ Lady Rose’s maid Karula utterly indifferent to exposing her existence, was it indeed because there were successors prepared?

The elves of Aesces are adorned in silk spun from silk spiders and have grown up consuming the crystal fruit nurtured by the venom of these creatures!

After thousands of years, it seems certain that Rose would have groomed a female priestess of strong mind and strength!

Given Rose’s usual disposition and insight, it would be surprising if there were no issues with the newly appointed God Queen of Elves of Teraxil, who is both charming and extraordinarily beautiful!

As for the human alchemist master of Aesces who ‘discovered’ the method of using silk spiders, ha~ it’s likely he ‘discovered’ it while excavating elven relics, right?

No wonder the Alchemist Association always emphasizes it was a discovery, not an invention.

Although it roughly coincides with what he thought, Hill feels there are many details he wants to know… like where exactly did things go wrong with Trenna Teder.

Did Karula merely keep silent knowing her identity was problematic, or has she already colluded with her?

Though it was guessed long ago that Lady Rose’s maid still held some reserves in the Forest of the Elves… actually, even the Elven God King had such suspicions, which is why he scrutinized the older elves, even pureblood elves.

Especially the family from which the elf, whom Karula impersonated, originated — they didn’t all defect alongside Hill’s grandmother, Miss Viola, to become elves of the Half-Elf Kingdom, precisely because the current Elf Queen’s control over the Forest of the Elves wasn’t strong enough.

At that time, Hill believed that if the Elven God King could not control the situation promptly, the Forest of the Elves would eventually fracture in such a terrible environment… the current elves would not fear Teraxil’s collapse before their lifespan ended.

Then they wouldn’t have to live orbiting the spaceship of the World Tree.

Do they really think elves are such united creatures!

They don’t even care about Coron, why would they care about Coron’s son?

It’s just that the specific environment of Teraxil made them incapable of leaving the protection of the World Tree to survive, let alone depart from this Crystal Wall System… otherwise, how come the elves never stepped out of line, acting as if they were the Keepers of Order.

Not quite, Hill remembers Draculus once saying a relatively friendly elf mage he knew long ago had already left Teraxil on his own, otherwise human mages wouldn’t have known about such an escape route.

The elves who could leave had long since run off, and those left behind could only rely on the Elven God King to survive, which was why the Forest of the Elves seemed so united in the past.

But now it’s different, not to mention that the neighboring half-elf nation is showing a great deal of freedom and strength, even without that, the elves would undoubtedly migrate with their families, leaving the forest that had bound them for thousands of years, even selling their emotions.

Originally, Hill estimated this change would be slow, considering the elves had grown accustomed to such a lifestyle, they would need time to retrieve their souls’ desire for freedom.

But… he found himself uncharacteristically anxious… with a queen reared on the water of conspiracy, could the Teraxil elves refrain from splitting until he returned home?

He was eager to witness Westaria’s pretty little face contort into a rage!

Tsk~

Ever since Hill realized his tongue was somewhat… um… only slightly less potent than that of the Snow Old Dog, he’s been trying to restrain his wishes, but this time, he sincerely spoke: “Oh beautiful and mighty Lady Rose, if you’re planning something, wait until I return home, will you!

No matter how grand the spectacle or magnificent the fireworks, they require an audience to justify their presentation!”

There’s nothing Hill can do; he’s not able to leave just yet.

Never mind the fact that he doesn’t even know how to find his way home, but considering the risk Aesces took in opening the door for Hill initially, given that the God of Portals and the Lady of Pain are still in conflict.

Hill doesn’t think that battle will conclude within a few years.

If Eosca doesn’t enter Mark City, the Lady of Pain won’t easily deal with him… and with that Dabas named Fer involved, Eosca can open portals wildly outside Mark City.

Hence, it’s destined to be a prolonged battle.

Hill could hardly request Aesces to let him leave now, that would be pretty audacious.

The little pettiness of Aesces isn’t severe enough to drive him out by force.

He gazes somewhat bewilderedly towards the northern Stelter Castle… suddenly taking an interest in Prince Alexis.

If Hill shows a particular interest in elven relics, will he be surrounded by numerous similar items when he returns to the Royal Capital?

Therefore, regarding this matter of Stelter Castle, he shouldn’t appear so indifferent… not to take proactive steps, but to demonstrate his value.

For instance… Hill leaps up, rushing to his laboratory… striving to identify the intricate connections between the Golden Cloud Orchid, the silk spider, and the crystal fruit before the alchemist masters of Danboro find out.
