Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1483: Chapter 61: Chaos in Basia

Hill doesn’t care about the Forest of the Elves in any world.

It can be said that after so many worlds, the only one he has any fondness for is the Supreme Forest, where Lynn’s parents reside, stationed in the Star Mountain Range, loyal to their homeland and sworn to Coron, the Sword Guard.

Even though their personalities are quite laid-back, they still have their own steadfastness... Of course, maybe Hill’s view of them is a bit filtered due to Lynn.

Anyway, they are somewhat more agreeable than other elves.

He reclined on the sofa, casually saying, ”I wonder if the high-level professionals in this world know about the Silk Spider news... Why do they seem completely indifferent?

And have the spare time to hire someone to assassinate Count Stelter’s family.

At this point, they’ve lost their value as pawns, haven’t they?”

”Haven’t you considered that this might be the mastermind attempting to silence people?” Purwell curiously asked.

”The only one who might get unlucky because of this is that Second Prince.” Hill cocked his head, ”But he’s also the one who will lose his freedom the fastest, right?

The moment King of Danboro finds out about this, he’ll probably immediately dispatch people to control everyone and everything related to this prince.

At that point, if there’s truly such loyal subordinates, shouldn’t they go to save their master’s life?

Would they dare to kill witnesses first?

How confident would they have to be in their master!

After the whole world learns they’ve crafted the Silk Spider to trap the Great Nobility and the Royal Family, could they still become king?

No... if they could use hard power to directly grab the king’s position, why play these conspiracy games?

Why bother silencing victims?”

Hill leaned by the window, looking towards the neighbor: ”I’ve thought about it, and maybe they want the Stelter family’s territory and castle?

Interesting... what identity can smoothly take over Basia City after the entire Stelter Family is wiped out?”

”Since it’s so dangerous, should we inform Miss Ellie? You’ve just dealt with a few assassins who threatened her family.” Purwell, familiar with Hill, knew he couldn’t help but intervene on dangerous matters, surely must be alerted by those people 20 meters underground.

Of course, those able to dig tunnels at such depth couldn’t have low levels.

”When Ellie arrives, let the puppet inform her.” Hill hesitated before speaking, ”If she doesn’t come, then forget it.”

”Aren’t you planning to give lessons anymore?” Purwell realized.

”The notes’ contents have been preliminarily taught to her.” Hill said indifferently, ”Now she needs to first practice the basic Skills of Alchemy.

The remaining knowledge, she’ll have to wait until she becomes a Mid-level Alchemist to understand.

I’m not her real teacher, am I supposed to teach her experiments step by step?”

Purwell pondered for a while before saying, ”Then I’ll directly tell Miss Ellie to visit after reaching the intermediate level?”

Hill contemplated and nodded, ”If circumstances permit at that time, yes.”

”I know how to convey it.” Purwell replied with a smile, ”Seems like, though you like this lady’s temperament, her talents haven’t met your baseline!”

”Hmm... I just confirmed again that teachers truly need talent and patience the most!

Until now, the only person I can tolerate for lacking talent is Boen, my childhood friend.” Hill lowered his gaze, a hint of nostalgia in his eyes, ”I once thought I had a good temper, but now I realize, without sufficient emotional ties, I can’t stand... the somewhat slow and dull understanding ability.

Oh!

Speaking of which, if not for the experiences on Toril, I would still think... Adrian and I are just ordinary Alchemists, after all, both so inclined.

But now I realize...my grandfather can do everything, knows what’s going on with just a glance, is beyond imagination.

Really... because my grandfather was too powerful, my concept somehow deviated a bit!

Forget it, one must see more to know what the outside world is really like.”

Purwell paused for a long time before speaking: ”Sir, I think you’d better not say such things outside, it’s a bit provoking.

If they can’t beat you, there are surely many who would throw a brick.”

Hill chuckled softly: ”I certainly wouldn’t do that!

In the past, it was only upon arriving in Toril, I spoke to Lynn about my Alchemy talents being not high... fortunately, Lynn didn’t say anything.”

”Lynn is truly a good person! A kind and beautiful heart, a kind and beautiful heart!” Purwell said full of emotion.

”Ah!” Purwell exclaimed softly, ”Ellie is at the door, seems to be holding gifts, I’ll go tell her.”

”By the way, remind her to leave her family’s Elven Products for those in the castle.” Hill said without lifting his head, ”I’m not assisting in everything.”

”Alright, sir.”

Upon receiving the notice, Ellie almost instantly lost the color from her face. She handed the gift to the puppet and, lifting her skirt, ran towards her family’s small building at the fastest speed.

Grand Mage Belfran did not intend to guide her through basic alchemy experiments, which Ellie had anticipated. Naturally, she felt disappointed, but she was mentally prepared for it.

Yet, anything concerning elf artifacts made her terrified.

The elf artifacts in her household... their quantity was beyond imagination!

Almost all families involved in international trade in Basia City were the same... gold, silver, and gemstones were not particularly rare in a world like Aesces, which was full of mines.

Due to Scaret’s influence, the great nobility of Danboro were unwilling to overly pursue treasures from the sea.

Ultimately, aside from antiques, they chose to use high-priced elf artifacts as a symbol of their status.

Additionally, inland cities tend to lack water, making the great nobility from the capital particularly fond of creating large gardens that embody the harmony and unity with nature.

Especially in the past few hundred years, because of Great Sage Ismael, who loved to use flowers and plants to represent his love, the elf style has become truly popular among the nobility in Danboro.

Basia City, from its inception, thrived on trade with the Forest of the Elves!

In the commercial trade, who doesn’t keep a bit of the exquisite goods at hand?

But at this moment, the finer the goods, the greater the danger, right?

The mere thought of both the Stelter family’s and the entire city’s quantity of elf artifacts made Ellie feel numb all over.

She held her breath and dashed into her family’s camp.

”Ellie?” Helena, who was grabbing Lind and instructing something, looked surprised at her rare loss of composure and stood up nervously, ”What’s wrong?”

The slightly lifeless Lind couldn’t help but look over... then, upon hearing Ellie’s words, frantically rushed to his room.

As the most pampered child of the Stelter family, his room always had the most artifacts.

Helena was stunned for a few seconds and began giving orders quickly... once everyone had emptied the items, she called her Captain of the Guard to send the rings filled with elf items to the Alchemist Association.

”Really send them to the Alchemist Association?” Her Captain of the Guard, confused, confirmed again.

”Of course! Regardless, I still trust the skills of the Alchemist Association!” Helena glanced at him and said in a calm tone, ”Besides, fighting is ongoing on the mountain! Who knows if it’s still possible to go up?”

The Captain of the Guard immediately understood her intention... who knows what might happen on the way up the mountain?

It’s better to let the mage, who can fly, send the message.

”Send two more people to inform each noble family.” Helena instructed, ”It doesn’t matter whether they believe it or not, just tell them and leave, return as quickly as possible.”

She glanced at the northern castle and took a deep breath: ”Ellie, you come with me to patrol the entire camp!”

She had given these people enough time to pack up. If anyone still kept anything... it would certainly be problematic.

Even if it’s just due to greed, retaining such subordinates isn’t necessary!

Helena drew out her magic longsword, which had been in storage for twenty years, and walked out sternly.

Basia City fell into a great chaos at this moment... especially after the Stelter family guard found traitors everywhere.

Even the army stationed at the port was somewhat frightened.

Quite a lot of items were thrown out from Scaret’s big ship.

The holy water from the Sun God Temple, which could burn, proved to be quite useful at this time... golden flames that emitted green smoke were igniting all over the beautifully clean white city.

The people in Stelter Castle, of course, received the news.

”So, what do you plan to do?” The High Priest of the Silvermoon, Austin, looked curiously at Count Stelter, then glanced at Finch, ”And you, is there anyone in the Alchemist Association who can handle emergencies?”

”I...” Count Stelter said, looking grim, ”We can rebuild the castle.

But first, we need to remove the paintings from the frames in the family gallery!”

Their family’s paintings, for hundreds of years, have used perfume trees from the Forest of the Elves for frames!

Finch was calm: ”Ah, it’s fine, we have people.”

”Five years ago, when I returned, they had already added two level 10 mages here.” Count Stelter sneered, ”Helena knew that’s why she acted like this, otherwise, if there were any problems, Basia City would have been in trouble!”

”Two, huh...” Earth Priest Todd sighed, ”They really value you, we only knew about one.”

”It seems your understanding of the Alchemist Association is quite deep as well! Stelter.” Finch gave a polite smile, ”But it’s purely coincidental that we have people wanting to see the sea view!

It’s all fate’s arrangement, otherwise, why would I stay here and help you get rid of the spider?”

”I simply happened to pick up some information, I don’t really understand the Alchemist Association that well.” Count Stelter returned the smile.
