Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1454: Chapter 32: Hill’s Sudden Vigilance

Hill suddenly turned his head and looked again at that banner… Could it be?

Although Danboro and Scaret have recently become sworn enemies in love for the last hundred years… with local storms and persistent overcast, they’ve been at each other’s throats for over a thousand years!

Don’t be fooled by Count Stelter’s long-standing battle with the Desert Kingdom, with assassins from the desert attempting to kill him every year; if one day he had to choose a country to flee to, he’d rather detour to the desert to fight for survival space than go along the coast to Scaret!

Should be, possibly, he’s overthinking it?

Ellie, that seemingly cheerful, lively, and quite resilient girl, wouldn’t be… so brainless to put her family on the gallows for a love game, would she?

The Stelter family is quite obviously in the King’s faction!

Hill shook his head, it shouldn’t be possible, it’s just that all their hair is golden.

Maybe he’s seen too many star-crossed lovers in Toril, thus his thoughts are spreading too far.

Besides, maybe this Royal Family Member just has some clandestine dealings with the Stelter Family?

Even the cruelest wars don’t hinder these great nobility’s private transactions… as long as it makes money, and as long as they don’t sell their country’s special resources, these nobles never really care about such things.

Sometimes, these nobles engaged in national trade are charged with colluding with foreign powers not because their deeds were unknown, but simply because there’s a need for a formal accusation now.

Hill slowly returned to his carriage, his expression calm, counting his steps… For some reason, he suddenly felt unease in the sea breeze of Basia City.

A golden-haired warrior stepping on a shark, in whichever world, seems to represent the Sea God?

Does Scaret have something to do with the Sea God Temple, or… have some connection to that Sea God?

Before Danboro Kingdom developed crystalline weapons, what did they rely on to combat Scaret, the one with a formidable fleet and warriors renowned for their strength, for over a thousand years?

Though always the weaker side, the support from nine mage towers at the Sage level has kept them from being invaded into the capital!

The most important thing is, Aesces receiving him might not only be for that bit of water!

He blinked, quietly pondering all the information he received since coming into this world, before he couldn’t help but look up… When he entered Aesces, all gods were quite attentive.

Yet, the so-called Heavenly Realm seemed unmoved.

Have they all left like Teraxil before? Or… are they living blindfolded in a world isolated like Aber in another dimension?

Is Aesces really as peaceful as he thought?

When he entered, Aesces claimed its world faced minor troubles but was very peaceful.

But… Hill arriving directly in Basia City felt like standing on a powder keg with a fuse long enough to explode at any moment.

Moreover, the kind of explosion that could trigger a world war.

Hill gently held the oak pendant… Is Aesces leaving Hill unrestricted, perhaps planning to use him as a conspicuous bait?

Or indeed intending for those unstable factors of the world to charge directly at Hill to die?

By then, he would merely need to step forward to clean up and show a generous demeanor… This world would flow with blood, and suffer heavy casualties.

Even though Hill’s character is gentle, he would not spare anyone attempting to kill or incarcerate him.

If threatened, he could not hold back.

Hill recalled the mountain range where he once landed… If he were not so cautious, after determining the purity of minerals in that vein, wouldn’t he lavishly spend gold and silver jewelry of a higher grade in Basia City?

If the gold bars Hill gave to the Earl and Joshua appeared in every corner of Basia City… even knowing Hill is a Great Sage, would these nobles, already red-eyed over profit struggle, focus all their attention on Hill?

Just revealing half of his apparent wealth, for those crystalline nations who’ve never seen what a mage above level 20 can achieve and feel their weapons are threatening enough, they certainly wouldn’t back down.

Aesces can also achieve the peace it desires… after all troubles are cleared by Hill.

Yet he would bear no guilt.

As the World Master, though he detests those humans making the world chaotic, yet… if not for their uncontrollable greed, never harboring murderous intent toward touring strongmen from other worlds, how could they meet such a total annihilation fate?

Hill extricated himself from this soon-to-erupt chessboard and began meditating.

Firstly, if Ellie or the Stelter Family truly have any ties with people from enemy countries, then Basia City will inevitably face major problems.

Regardless of whether Count Stelter knew, or when he found out, his first reaction would be to silence.

If Hill was an insider, even as a Great Sage, the Count might resort to poisoning.

But, what if he couldn’t kill Hill?

If Hill enters that castle, given his personality, he’s bound to reveal something… Then, regardless of the country, he becomes the best pledge.

Once Basia City becomes a strategic battleground, Count Stelter might actually be able to safeguard it.

Hill tightly gripped his pendant.

Perhaps he had thought too negatively of Aesces… but everything that happened today had raised some level of alertness in him… Fortunately, he saw those ships at the harbor directly.

With the flags of the Danboro Royal Family and Scaret Royal Family waving… Regardless of their purpose, whether to win Miss Ellie’s favor or not, Hill abandoned his initial plan at that moment.

He had already shown admiration for Ellie, so if the other party insisted on borrowing his name… Hill, known for his keen observation, had noticed the gaze of Ellie fixated on the purse that Yanos threw.

Thus, this former high disciple of Mr. Delgado must have some connection with the Stelter Family.

That means, as long as they can keep their secrets, they don’t need to spend a fortune learning from Hill.

Hill slowly withdrew the interesting emotions stirred by the Stelter Family into his heart… Hadn’t he planned to let Ellie bring books to learn some basic knowledge from him?

How could a mere auction suddenly make him want to check out the living environment of that family?

Was it because, after being suppressed in Toril for so long and finally arriving in a world where he could act without restraint, he inwardly treated it as a playground despite always restraining his actions?

Just like… the Undead Tribe viewed these worlds.

Hill gently tapped his brow: leaving a little water as a request seemed ceremonial, but in effect, was it any different from not doing so?

This matter wasn’t something he should tackle!

This world indeed has a Sea God!

When he first saw that curious gazing merman, why hadn’t he thought of this… How could there be a Sea God who couldn’t connect with the Elemental Sea?

Unless, to Aesces, this Sea God was not an ally, but an enemy.

But in that case, how could the Ocean God System be equally isolated from the world?

Hill sat on the sofa, quietly waiting for dawn… feeling frustrated.

He understood, the friendliness Aesces exhibited back then was genuine; this world hadn’t intended to deceive him… For Hill, those so-called crystal energy cannons were as harmless as magic-breaking arrows without arrowheads.

Moreover, back then, Hill just needed to accept his world wasn’t an evil faction, with not many choices.

But Aesces indeed wanted to take advantage of Hill a little.

If Hill appeared on Aesces’ continent with the same approach he used in Toril, he’d truly become a focal point… a target for cannonfire.

Even if Hill adhered to order as he behaved, Aesces had nothing to lose; at least it indeed could exchange for some water and create a few large enough oases, didn’t it?

At the moment the scarlet sunlight flooded onto the carriage bed, Hill suddenly shook his head with a laugh… he was being somewhat melodramatic.

Perhaps due to the treatment in Toril being too high… making him truly believe he could stand equal with mighty divine powers.

Yet, given his current strength, he was merely on par with intermediate divine power.

He must always remember, the World Tree’s strength doesn’t equate his strength… Others dare not kill him, but that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t scheme against him.

Regardless of which world’s Creator, even if seemingly mediocre, should always be remembered… They are of godly caliber.

Truly weak worlds would have long bowed under the relentless invasion of various God Systems, unable to develop their own survival laws, wouldn’t they?

Hill never expected, after leaving Toril in the first world, he’d be reminded again of that self always clouded by illusions.

“Mr. Belfran, I’m Ellie.” Miss Stelter’s clear voice came from beyond the wall, “I have something to seek your help with… May I come in?”

Hill waved his hand, the grass in front of the carriage parted to both sides, a three-meter-wide marble path appeared ahead, and as the path extended to the foot of the wall, the white wall directly descended. The beautiful Miss Ellie Stelter, dressed in a neat blue robe, holding a book box, smiled brightly, her green eyes curved into two crescent moons.

“What’s the matter?” Hill asked as the young lady stepped into the carriage.
