Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1100: Chapter 893: The Undead Tribe’s Welcoming Gift

Edna’s long-prepared departure ceremony was completely ruined with the help of her white dragon friend.

She tugged at her brown hair, trying to comfort herself... just think of that Undead Tribe Commander! Didn’t ’Snow Cloud Peak’ always end his pre-departure mobilization amidst ridicule from others?

Although Edna admired this Commander’s ability to command before tens of millions, she definitely didn’t want to be pointed at and asked by his subordinates if he wanted a fair duel like him.

Tch~ still so mad!

Edna shook her head, stared furiously at the fairy dragon clutching Leonard’s arm with claws, crying and accusing Arausato of being too rough, and said harshly, ”Josanie!”

”Eh? Why so angry~” The little dragon flapped her strikingly beautiful transparent wings in the sunset and tilted her head at Edna, ”It’s not like I’ve been causing pranks in the town!”

”That would require you to have the skills!” Edna showed a mocking smile, ”Weren’t you caught by Teraxil Elves during your first prank and played with like a big doll for half a day?

You only dare to find regular white dragons with less intelligence; why don’t you try to take on Arausato?”

”I’m playful, but not without intelligence!” The little dragon, beautifully carved like purple crystal, said in a crisp little girl’s voice, sounding utterly shameless, ”No matter how powerful Arausato is, as long as I can run away, he can’t stop me from bullying his little fool!”

Edna could only sternly warn her: ”If you dare to stir up trouble during our adventure, when passing Agleya City, I’ll beg Lord Hill to lock you in a cage!

Don’t assume Leon will always save you; he won’t easily go against his brother’s words!

Lynn won’t fall for your tricks! There are plenty of little fairies in Agleya; your tactics are just leftover games for them!”

Jonisa paid no heed to Edna’s warning, just raised her voice, saying: ”Are there really many little fairies in Agleya? Leon, let’s get moving!

I really want to play with them~”

Leonard wanted to speak but obediently shut his mouth under Edna’s death stare.

A gigantic dragon’s claw appeared out of nowhere, catching Josanie in its palm: ”Alright, she’ll be my responsibility from now on.”

Elvia Tulais, as the White Dragon Queen ruling the northern ice sea region for years, still held some authority... Though Josanie was adept at escaping, she felt she might have crossed a line and meekly stayed quiet with her owner.

Edna, completely put off by the chaos, could only resignedly tell the four junior mages: ”You must have already prepared tools and such; there are still some differences between humans and elves in this aspect.

But the food must have almost run out, so hurry to buy some while the shops are still open!

The next chance to replenish supplies will surely be after reaching Agleya.

Well then, when the Light of Dawn shines above the forest, I’ll be waiting for you at the west exit of the town.”

The mages exchanged glances; for Transmutation School mages good at Food Creation Spell, bringing Nutrition Beads and Purified Water Beads sufficed... Most importantly, they needed to bring enough Magic Potions and Magic Scrolls.

Of course, they had to gather herbs and minerals encountered along the way to take advantage of the next city rest to refine some to restock their inventory.

As for their followers... there weren’t many mage forces that, like Azuth’s devotees, provided their followers parcels as large as 1-2 cubic meters.

But after packing armor, weapons, and some Nutrition Beads and similar food, there wasn’t room for other items, just some rope and sleeping bags and other daily necessities.

Yet Miss Edna seemed not only unbothered by warriors having space equipment, but she also thought they could buy more elven products to carry, as if they could afford that?

It wasn’t clear if it was because these elves were too wealthy, or they had mingled with dragons too long, making this beautiful lady utterly unaware of human kingdom prices... If they could really take elven cakes as rations and drink elf wine as water, holding a steel grappling hook in one hand and enchanted weapons in the other, who would still go out as an attendant?

The four junior mages from Quel Senta, though inwardly swamped with countless grumbles, didn’t plan to stay and watch those two dragons’ antics... As for the fairy dragon, let it be, but the White Dragon Queen, whether suppressing Josanie or warning them, was continuously emitting a powerful dragon aura.

They were still okay, but some of their followers were close to struggling.

After considering for a few minutes, the junior mages resolutely bid a temporary farewell to their captain... They had plenty of time to interact later, especially since they were initially contending for leadership; the relationship must be wary with mutual defenses, relying only on time for gradual cohesion.

Leonard watched as his future companions left, unable to resist lowering his head to ask Edna, ”Are you really letting them go out with so many followers? The Undead Tribe...”

Edna couldn’t help but roll her eyes and interrupt him, ”Those guys clearly have been pampered for years. Are we really going to have the Undead Tribe fetching water, washing clothes, and cooking for them?

If they want to bring them along, let them. Their life and death are not our concern anyway.”

Leonard let out an ”oh” and truly planned not to care... Nature Mages can eat wherever they go, neither starting fires nor needing to wash clothes... his robe is enchanted with an automatic cleaning spell.

He could never understand the woes of human mages... unless they wear one set of clothes all the time, which Mid-Lower Rank Mages would be willing to enchant so many clothes? Besides, the fabric that can be enchanted is not cheap!

The Elves’ Magic Tower is different; they are skilled in weaving clothes from plants, so what’s the big deal about enchanting them? Even the clothes worn by apprentices clean themselves.

Edna took out her handbook and solemnly wrote: On the third day after the summer solstice in the Valley Calendar year 1379, the adventuring team ’Queen’s Arrival’ led by Edna is about to step onto the historical stage of Toril.

She didn’t shy away from others while writing it, so Leonard casually glanced at it and then widened his eyes, ”Wait~ What kind of name is ’Queen’s Arrival’?”

Sitting in her chair, Edna and Elvia, who was arguing with the little rascal clawed in her grasp, turned to look at him together, ”What’s wrong with that?”

”It sounds rather nice~” Josanie didn’t bother to save her master, who was shaking under the stare of the lady, but instead delivered the final blow.

Leonard’s courage to resist grew weaker and weaker. After mumbling a few words that almost no one heard, he took a magic book out of his pocket and nestled in the dimly lit small square, starting to read.

The timely silence of the Nature Mage saved his ears. Until dawn came, the three ladies didn’t bother him again... especially later, when the Black Rose and members of the Magic Cult arrived, Leonard was even more grateful for his sensitivity to the situation.

Probably because of their good relations with Edna, both families, even the Magic Cult, at least half of the two hundred team they sent were women, and once they arrived, they gathered around Edna and Elvia, chattering away.

His Josanie soon got into discussions about exquisite accessories and clothing matches, no longer paying any attention to her lonely master.

However, Leonard didn’t feel any grievance, as he soon found out, even the ’Snow Cloud Peak’ mage, who was initially elected as the joint leader of the two families, could only rub his hands and quietly sit on the bench waiting for dawn, just like him.

Other male undead were only standing on the outskirts of the small square, maintaining a low presence, only daring to whisper to each other.

Although Leonard is sometimes quite oblivious, he’s not stupid. From this moment on, he was determined to be a good man who listens and doesn’t talk much... anyway, he’s still young and not interested in entering a relationship, so there’s no need to attract the attention of beautiful women.

Edna looked at the moonlight on the horizon and cheerfully said, ”It’s about time, let’s head to the entrance! Time flies when you’re chatting with someone~”

Leonard glanced at the group of women gathering to head to the west side of the town, giving up on the idea of calling Josanie back, and quietly followed behind ’Snow Cloud Peak’... The leader moved slowly with a large group of male elves, keeping a distance of more than ten meters from those girls.

However, the Quel Senta people who had been waiting at the entrance weren’t so wise... Although the status of Quel Senta women is not low, it’s based on the family... it’s that so-called big decisions listen to the male head of the family, small decisions listen to the female head.

After all, how many big things happen in daily life?

So, in Toril, Quel Senta women live quite well.

But actually, the status of Quel Senta women is still based on the identity of their male partner; marrying well is their life’s goal.

Quel Senta men indeed respect women, but they also regard themselves quite highly. When facing professional women... mages they dare not provoke, but it’s different with those carrying bows and arrows, with long swords on their waists.

Unless they’re transcendent, female battle professionals have always had a hard time in Toril.

These Quel Senta people had long seen the beauty of the undead women, but when a hundred elven girls wearing silk short skirts and strapped sandals walked over together, they still caught eyes.

Perhaps women ranking at the top in PvP guilds, regardless of whether they dress pure or sexy, cute or mature, have personalities that are definitely not to be trifled with.

Girls genuinely fragile at heart could never establish a secure footing in such families where large-scale guild battles constantly occur?

They are all warriors who directly blast people’s heads amid obscene language.

So before Edna could introduce her protectors to her future team members, those Quel Senta men who couldn’t control their lustful gazes immediately felt what it’s like to feel the chill of a midsummer’s day.
