Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1064: Chapter 858: Resurrection of Amanata

Celene hesitated for a moment before saying, ”I think locating the descendants in Mystree is fine; everything else is an accident and can be ignored.”

Shaer asked somewhat bewilderedly, ”What are you thinking? Mask is, after all, a part of me.”

Celene said earnestly, ”Don’t bards always say that life comes from a bout of intense pain? Only the birth of Mystree caused us all to feel pain.

Hahaha~”

Faced with such a cold joke, Shaer instantly fell silent. Countless small butterflies on the gold-thread hanging butterfly tree moved without the wind in a wave of coldness... She really didn’t want to say another word to that crazy sister of hers.

The listening Hill could only maintain a frosty expression, focusing all his attention on the wild actions of the two kings of the divine monsters on the huge screen.

Actually, to this extent, Shaer wouldn’t get angry. For one, she was long accustomed to Celene’s impulsive behavior. Secondly, even if others heard, they would only marvel at Celene’s high intelligence... No one would ever compare her, Shaer, to the Maiden of the Moon.

As for Celene, who spoke those words... If she really considered it a humiliation, she wouldn’t have said it.

The Silvermoon Maiden never regrets anything she does and doesn’t care what others say.

But Hill had no idea how to handle this cold joke... Although it’s easy to understand, a normal person wouldn’t laugh.

Though he always liked to greet people with a smile, he still wasn’t sure how to handle such occasions.

The prayers coming from the huge screen grew louder and louder, more and more people started kneeling on the city walls... Hill finally saw the first dwarf kneel down.

As for the gnomes, they kneeled rather quickly; they may not be very devout, but they sincerely hoped Amanata could resurrect.

But even though everything on the huge screen was very attention-grabbing, Hill’s mind was still in a daze: he would never again think those who can kick off a bad joke and still make the atmosphere lively were disgusting—this truly was an extraordinary skill!

For a linguistic klutz like him, when faced with such awkward occasions, there’s no other way but to play dead.

Hill swallowed a mouthful of saliva, genuinely relieved that in any world, he was free to choose silence.

The golden defensive shield on the walls of Manshaka City was always on the verge of collapsing, but it tenaciously persisted under those four giant fists... A golden light from the Temple was constantly supplying energy for the defensive shield.

Countless gleams of prayer shot from every corner of Manshaka City towards the Sun God Temple.

Above the temple, surrounded by streaks of white shooting stars, a vague silhouette was slowly beginning to form.

It was Amanata... A tall, thin figure with a head full of silver hair and short, light silver-white beard, one hand holding a scepter, the other clasping a huge law code, dressed in a loose, flowing robe of purple-black, adorned with golden stars and silver moons.

Shaer sneered and mocked, ”Still wearing that garment full of ambition!”

Celene nonchalantly said, ”If he wants to become the head of the stars, let him! At most he’ll just sleep for a few million more years.”

Shaer coolly said, ”I thought he would use that female image! I didn’t expect him to intend to keep the divinity of law and contract... He hasn’t even resurrected yet and he’s already eyeing Tyr and Lansendel.

Tyr doesn’t really care, his heart’s not in Toril, but Lansendel... He’s better off not bothering Amanata, the Sun God.

Does Amanata want to bask in the care of the Lord of Dawn?”

”Perhaps, he’s still reminiscing about that almost famous saying in Toril... The first light of dawn, no matter how beautiful, will still fade under the blazing sun,” Celene said lightly, ”Even though Amanata has fallen, people still bring this up!

But those elves who believed in Lansendel ended up taking the phrase ’the Light of Dawn awakens the Sun’ to every corner of the world.

Elves who fought in the Crown Wars really couldn’t care less about this little maneuver.”

Shaer suddenly realized, ”True, Amanata never truly experienced Lansendel’s power. In his heart, Dawn is probably still that clueless kid roaming everywhere.

What an idea, hope he can hold on.”

Celene suddenly chuckled, ”Actually, the desert-representing image is better suited for appearing in Kalinsan! Amanata is really thinking too much.”

Shaer indifferently said, ”Perhaps he thinks he can handle Lansendel?”

Hill pondered for a while before he understood the conversation of the two goddesses... Amanata had many divinities before his fall: bureaucratic system, contracts, order, hierarchy, the sun, ruling power.

He had two personas, one being the male ruler that appeared now, the other being a female judge holding a pure gold—an almost transparent gold—scales, dressed in a white flowing dress.

The two personas shared the divinities of the sun and extreme order.

The male persona controlled more of the contracts and ruling power, while the female leaned towards bureaucratic system and hierarchy.

But those other powers held by the male persona had already been divided by newer gods after Amanata’s fall, while the divinities of the female persona saw fewer powerful gods joining the division.

Actually, this can be understood. Facing those Professionals who could flip the table at any moment, no matter how perfect a bureaucratic system is, it’s just a joke.

Amanata surely understands this well, which is why he’s willing to take the risk of becoming enemies with Tyr and Lansendel to first solidify his male aspect.

However... Hill silently lowered his head, somewhat doubting that Shaer and Celene were alluding to an aspect Amanata has always refused to acknowledge: the female aspect...”The Unmerciful” Ata, representing the goddess of the desert’s scorching sun, who holds a rather unspeakable divinity...prostitute.

But logically, Hill shouldn’t know this image.

After all, although Amanata discreetly uses the Ata aspect to compete with Celene for the barbarian believers in the desert, he’s kept this matter fairly tightly sealed. With most information about the Sun God now lost, how could Hill, coming from another world, possibly know these tales from hundreds of thousands of years ago?

Even Coron, as gossipy as he might be, wouldn’t tell his descendants the jokes of fallen deities.

Hill could only calmly say, ”The bureaucratic system indeed doesn’t suit Toril anymore. It’s normal for Amanata to abandon that aspect.”

”Hehe~” Celene let out a weird laugh. ”She has a divinity that won’t disappear even after a million years, but he’s just afraid to use it.

What a shame.”

Hill displayed a face of bewilderment... These two sisters were indeed cursing Amanata.

Shaer, with a bland tone, spoke harshly enough: ”Hill doesn’t need to understand, such things won’t appear before you.”

Hill obediently replied with an ’Oh.’

Celene and Shaer were genuinely good to him. At least they didn’t intend for Hill to get involved in matters that would make a petty deity resentful.

Even Celene, usually so outspoken, didn’t say it outright... ’Hill completely doesn’t know’ and ’Hill won’t say anything to others’ are actually not the same.

A deafening sound abruptly resounded from the giant screen, and exclamations from the Undead Tribe were endless.

The enormous Fire God Beast Mannan seemed to be provoked by that golden shining figure. He suddenly leaped into the air and then smashed towards Manshaka City with all his might.

Although the Defensive Shield still trembled and held up without breaking, the last batch of people on the city wall couldn’t endure any longer and knelt down.

The entire city now had not a single heretic... Pure Faith Power under the sunlight drew silver beams.

Amanata slowly opened his eyes.

His eyes held no emotion, coldly and sternly looking at those gigantic Elemental Giants: ”Rebels! Return to where you belong!”

Holding the Eternal Sun Scepter in his left hand, he forcefully swung it, sending a beam of golden light directly at the angry roaring Mannan... The Fire God Beast’s Lord vanished directly without dodging.

”That’s amazing!” Hill couldn’t help but praise. That was an Elemental Prince!

An Elemental Realm’s top-tier creature summoned by Hill but unable to be sent away!

Celene softly spoke, ”This is a Divine Artifact formed by an eternal fire from the sun when Amanata was born. However, when dealing with the King of Gods and Monsters, he can only send away one at a time, and cannot use it repeatedly.”

Shaer sneered coldly but said nothing more.

Mannan’s disappearance made Karin alert. He swiftly transformed from a towering giant into a tornado, then continuously split, surrounding even the sea surface of Manshaka in a hurricane piercing through the clouds within 30 seconds.

Huge sea waves, swept by the tornado, crashed against the city walls... The Temple’s defense for the city seemed more focused on the ground part, as the sea-facing walls started shaking along with the Defensive Shield.

Hill could only sigh, no wonder Karin was the true master of Kalinsan in the past... Mannan always appeared in the role of challenger.

With Mannan, that impulsive Fire God Beast, around, even if Karin knew which mode was more suited to deal with a city like Manshaka, he hadn’t used it... Splitting so many tornadoes greatly harmed the city, but the weakness was also apparent.

Upon discovering Karin’s weakness, would Mannan strike Manshaka City first or Karin?

Definitely Karin.

Karin wasn’t afraid of being sent back to the Elemental Realm, but it absolutely couldn’t be Mannan who sent him back.

Otherwise, why did he persist staying in that broken crystal for ten thousand years?

Though time held little meaning for the Elemental Giants, the loneliness of ten thousand years had bored him... If Mannan weren’t right beside him, Karin might have chosen self-dissipation.

Anyway... Karin howled as he attacked the city, watching those humans panic and flee in all directions... Mannan was the first to be sent back!

He could mock Mannan for ten thousand years by holding out one more second.
