Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Capítulo 1095: Chapter 888: The Adventuring Party Prepares to Set Out

Celene said cheerfully, “Do you know why Eckart is chasing Amanata like a madman?”

Shaer asked in surprise, “You know?”

“Although Eckart has been very careful about avoiding outside observation, always hiding in the fortress of the Karin Desert, he still ignored a wisp of moonlight,” Celene said solemnly.

Eckart habitually travels in a state of dust, presumably because he accidentally left a small hole unsealed… Compared to the moonlight, he fears the shadow more, having offended Shaer, and wherever he goes, there’s always bright flames. Besides, who could have thought there’d be a day when Celene and Shaer would share intelligence!

And with the regained moonlight priesthood, Celene can essentially be everywhere.

Shaer immediately pursued, “So… why really?”

“Hmm…” Celene drawled, “Mannan and Karin have already returned to the Elemental Realm~ but they still want to return to Kalinsan to have fun.

This time, the Fire God Beast and Air God Creature reached an agreement to first turn Kalinsan into a true desert before continuing their battle.

So their good son Eckart decided to stall the steps of Amanata’s believers before Toril reopened to the outside world.

He’s done quite well, hasn’t he?

If they could swiftly reclaim most lands beyond Karin Desert, Amanata would now certainly be the absolute faith of Kalinsan, unfortunately, those guys are so useless… or maybe Amanata’s Holy Grail has no energy?

The faith of Toril people will only be dedicated to deities useful to them, it’s been over a year now, Amanata’s radiance hasn’t left Manshaka.”

Hill laughed, the reason Amanata’s believers are so embarrassed is not because the Sun God suffered a brutal setback on the way home, only able to seal the Divine Kingdom to heal wounds?

The days of those Amanata believers in Manshaka are even worse than during the time under the cup’s protection.

Originally, they could pull Vila in to help… unfortunately, the Little Fairy Queen’s unilateral recognition of gratitude was accepted by the Amanata Priest.

Even if that cup can still influence Vila, it could only entice her under Vila’s will to act in favor of Amanata, like encouraging the Undead Tribe to kill more divine beasts.

But to have the Undead Tribe help recover the cities of Kalinsan… with the current main occupiers being former Kalinsanians, it’s basically impossible.

When Vila completely embraces the music, all influences become bubbles… the Undead Tribe will only clean up divine beasts within 30 kilometers of the Magic Great Wall.

Shaer hesitated for a few minutes… She indeed dislikes Eckart, after all, that winged black sesame dared to claim to rid the world of shadow.

But if choosing between Eckart and Amanata… even after much hesitation, her decision would only be one: “Iltmara should go play in Manshaka… the divine beasts don’t need her intervention for now.”

The outcome of Shaer’s electors’ playing… who knows what Manshaka will turn into.

“Eh?” Celene asked curiously, “Why did Lynn come back?”

“With the protection from the Undead Tribe, Leonard is enough,” Hill said softly, “Lynn still has so many things to do.”

Shaer coldly said, “Otherwise, what could he do? Charge into the Supreme Forest and smash the Tower of Nature? Even Miliel’s electors don’t have that ability.”

Celene said slowly, “I thought he would stay with his brother until the end… So Lynn really doesn’t know Edna’s identity!”

Shaer said indifferently, “Hill isn’t stupid, why would he tell him? Even William doesn’t know! Is this some kind of good news?

The more you know, the more trouble there is, not everyone can keep their heart like Hill, unswayed by powerful forces.

Although the mission of the Tablets of Fate is fraught with death, those who survive enjoy endless glory… How many people long to test whether they are that lucky one, don’t you know yet?”

Celene said carelessly, “Isn’t he Miliel’s elector? Maybe he can survive till the end! Or at least return to his Main God’s Divine Kingdom, compared to others, his chances are always a bit more.”

Shaer remained silent, although she never liked the mess created by the Tablets of Fate, she also knows how many Toril continent’s strong ones hope to receive that slightest favor from the river of fate.

Especially after Midnight, Kranvo, and Cyric went from mere mortals to massive divine power.

Even if the impacts of certain lesser destiny battles aren’t as great, those Sons of Destiny at least get to live thousands of years or even perpetually, and youthful forever.

Of course, if before completing the Path of Destiny, one is already frail and aged, they can only maintain that appearance to keep living, but for those who can only rely on becoming a lich or even necromancy to continue ‘living,’ it’s their utmost desire.

Even those of the Eternal Race, as long as they successfully partake in a destiny journey, the gift of that tiny power of destiny can elevate them to transcendence… otherwise, why are there so many dragons, elves, dwarves, gnomes suddenly giving up racial prejudice upon meeting a destiny team, respecting them greatly?

Though Shaer often comes to Agleya City, she never pays attention to mortals; it’s already good enough to know who that Lynn is, how could she possibly go further to understand his character?

The Goddess of the Night never casually judges people or matters she has no grasp over.

Hill laughed: “Even if Lynn knows, he won’t be interested in such matters. He’s my municipal officer and only wants to be my municipal officer.”

Celene said dismissively: “Hill, don’t speak too confidently.”

“Or else you’ll end up like you, getting slapped by your own Chosen?” Shaer interjected with disdain, “And then from now on, prefer lending your power to someone else’s Chosen?

Hill won’t be as stupid as you.”

Celene clicked her tongue: “How long are you going to use the Laila incident against me! I refuse to believe that given the chance, those three Chosen of yours wouldn’t want to kill you!”

Shaer laughed coldly: “Ha~ Do you think I would give them a chance? The Divine Artifact in their hands, its rightful owner is always me; they are merely borrowers.

Who would be like you, truly entrusting your Divine Artifact completely to your subordinates?

Others fear they are tempting their Chosen too much, yet you fear it’s not enough!”

Celene didn’t respond anymore… because of this incident, she’s become the biggest joke in the Multiverse.

Other deities, even if they give out Divine Artifacts to their subordinates, usually it’s a subartifact or a common artifact they’ve captured. Only she has truly handed her Main God Artifact, closely related to her Divinity, to the Chosen for use.

Then the Maiden of the Moon, through her painful experience, became the cautionary tale mentioned by all deities.

Though Hill spoke up for Lynn, he wasn’t yet seeking Celene’s admission regarding his friend’s impeccable character… it wasn’t necessary.

As long as he believes in Lynn himself, but he also won’t let Celene randomly speculate about his friend, it was essential to make this Maiden of the Moon understand that Lynn is Hill’s genuine friend… such that before Lynn betrays Hill, Celene wouldn’t make similar comments.

Although Celene tends to speak without thinking, sometimes it requires direct clarification; otherwise, she might come up with her own misinterpretations. Hill wouldn’t want rumors going full circle and slapping him in the face.

It wouldn’t be fair to his loyal friend.

“This Edna, doesn’t quite match my expectations,” Shaer suddenly said, “I never thought I’d see the words ‘shrewd and capable’ associated with her one day.”

On the giant screen, Edna was taking Leonard through the Hidden Town, buying all sorts of tools that might be needed on the road.

After finalizing the departure time and number of followers with the Undead Tribe, the young girl began discussing travel preparations with Leonard.

But, the bewildered Half-Elf Nature Mage, after hearing the young girl’s lengthy soliloquy, decided to hand over his wallet.

Hill thought Edna’s expression at that moment was rather peculiar… Not only was each person around her more shrewd, but due to the White Dragon Queen’s influence, they tended to be exceedingly meticulous.

The act of simply handing over one’s wallet to a teammate without question was Edna’s first encounter… In her social circle, only people like Baldy and Hard Wind don’t control their wallets.

Yet, Edna also perceived that this Half-Elf Mage had no ulterior motives towards her and only extended his trust because Leonard trusted his own brother.

Such a naive being made her, who had been influenced by the White Dragon and the Undead Tribe for so long, almost think another visitor from the Otherworld had arrived.

Though slightly unbelievable, Edna, who all through her life had been taken care of as the younger sister, suddenly felt a wave of affection for the silly elf before her… It’s unrelated to love, just a natural ‘nurturing instinct’ for girls that suddenly surfaced.

At this moment, Edna finally understood why the Sanda King Sister always wanted to care for her… She also wanted to pat the silly elf’s head!

How could there be such a foolish truly adult elf?

Could it be that those stationed Mithril Elves, who Edna had the most contact with at Toril, were from the formal battle units, therefore all such shrewd and capable?

Yet, the elves of Agleya, although rash and mischievous, weren’t naturally naive?

Really interesting.

The four Junior Mages sent by Edna’s father, upon finally finding the young girl shopping along the street, were instantly defeated by her frequent use of ‘Leon’… Even before departure, the most special spot around Edna was seized by a newly emerging Half-Elf.

What was this?

The fair competition agreement they’d just reached amongst the four failed completely before it started?

After exchanging glances for a while, the four decisively joined in… So what if the elf seemed slightly better looking than them? And only had a more capable brother? They’re not afraid!

Once acquainted for a while, Edna will soon realize how vast the differences in notions between humans and elves truly can be!

At this moment, the junior mages overlooked one crucial detail… This beautiful young girl was raised by elves.
