Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1078: Chapter 872: Similarities Between Celene and Certain Undead Tribe Members

The moonlight in the pool flickered, and Celene asked puzzledly, ”Don’t they have their own chief deity Mog-Gaya?

Why would they go directly to the Goblin Chief God Magnubiyeh?

I remember the goblins always go to their own chief deity first...

Does that mean they also took some goblins with them when they ran? Why? No matter how many of those things there are, they’re useless, right?”

”Goblins only want to enjoy battle; they are all warriors, including the females.

In their eyes, even if female goblins don’t train all day, they should be used to raise offspring, not be buried in housework.

A small goblin tribe might have to do everything themselves for fear of being betrayed by slaves, but a large gathering like the one on Giant’s Ridge Mountain would definitely have enough slaves.

Goblins are seen as the most suitable slaves to them, though not as efficient as the gnoll people and humans, at least they won’t run away or harm the young,” Hill explained calmly, ”Although the goblins are indeed useless and lazy, they can still work under the whip.”

Celene pondered for a while before saying, ”Alright~ I understand now. I didn’t expect anyone would use such dirty little potatoes for work.”

The intelligence and height of a goblin are actually pretty much like humans, and they’re not as ugly as goblins. Though they are cold and cruel, they are still a proper intelligent race.

While goblins, even if their intelligence is higher than that of the White Dragon, no one would consider them a race worth mentioning.

”Knights, shield yourselves from the arrows!” The giant screen transmitted the yell of ’Rain Falling on Mortal Dust.’

The undead knights had already charged to the mountaintop and were blocked... A black curtain of light had descended over the three-story-high black and gold palace covering an area of two thousand square feet.

The mages were halfway up the mountain, unattainable from above and below, maintaining a distance from the knights, walking particularly leisurely, giving the impression of ’the opportunity has come’... The commander of the goblins, wielding a subartifact bow and arrows, unhesitatingly shot the last two Demonslayer Arrows in his hand.

Given his abilities and hatred for the undead tribe, if he had more, he would certainly have fired three arrows at once.

Although surprised and losing many lives to these subartifact arrows, the commanders knew for sure that the goblin still had Demonslayer Arrows ready for a sneak attack.

Being lured into a trap and losing so many right at the beginning was already lucky... For goblins with high military aptitude, taking out the enemy’s highest commander was worth sacrificing a few Demonslayer Arrows.

But they were too isolated, completely unaware of the strange creatures standing across from them known as the Teraxil Elves.

If it were the other continental forces, through these years of analyzing the undead tribe, they would surely know that to deal with these deathless elves, they should either send out a level 35 or above powerhouse or retreat strategically.

In those standard military confrontations, nothing worked effectively.

Soon some of the swordsmen, agile in their movements, started chasing down the two swiftly flying Demonslayer Arrows... After the arrows took off, relying on the knights to smash them down with their shields wasn’t so easy, hope relied on some nimble swordsmen disrupting their acceleration directly.

But even the swordsmen had to strike just as a Demonslayer Arrow was about to take out a mage; otherwise, they couldn’t catch up.

However, the Demonslayer Arrows attacked randomly... With so many unfortunate victims, who knew who was next?

Some swordsmen protected the pretty young women beside them, but more were in search of what they considered an unfortunate victim... the kind who rolls a one on a dice, eternally gets the minimum prize when opening blind boxes.

Smiling graciously at the warriors appearing beside them, the beautiful young women blushed, unclear if it was excitement or shyness.

The unfortunate victims glared ferociously at the swordsmen stepping up to them, a tinge of blush on their cheeks... unclear if it was anger or anger.

Ultimately, the Demonslayer Arrows chose two unfortunate victims, unclear if it was because their flushed faces looked particularly appealing, but at least the swordsmen surrounding them perfectly completed their task.

Pinned to the ground were the Demonslayer Arrows, pressed down by five or six swords, struggling fiercely, almost breaking free from their suppression... Luckily, the knights weren’t too slow in arriving before then.

’Perfect Bald’ charged through riding his tiger, retrieving the two long arrows into his pouch.

Then he gestured a thumbs-down at the goblin commander beneath the black barrier... provoking a volley of black-gold blazing magic arrows.

Although these arrows weren’t as swift as the Demonslayer Arrows, they weren’t easily evaded either.

Frightened, Baldy quickly recalled his tiger friend, scurrying away while covering his head... Unfortunately, the opponent had already used his strongest technique, and this time he couldn’t escape.

This should be the demon power belonging to the Queen of Succubus. Even though Baldy’s dodge was swift enough, just a graze transformed him directly into light.

Anyway, this is his own doing. Last time they only shot him with one arrow because they needed to save their energy to deal with Snow Old Dog. Now, during this indiscriminate killing, can they still keep him there to taunt?

Although the Undead Tribe is struggling to use its most powerful skills to attack that Defensive Shield, it seems like it’s not something that can be done quickly.

”The strength of Suniluone can probably only resist the relentless bombardment of the Undead Tribe for about two hours,” Celene determined, then asked, ”Why don’t those Goblins run?”

”Asking such a question, have you tangled your brain?” Shaer returned at some point, ”These Goblins must have signed a contract with that Succubus. Unless the defense fails completely, the result of running away is gifting their soul to the Succubus.”

Celene confusedly said: ”Isn’t the Evil Faction the best at tearing up contracts?”

”The ability to tear up contracts is not about morality; it’s about power,” Shaer said coldly, ”If they are stronger than the Succubus, they can do whatever they want, but if they were stronger than the Succubus, how could they be her subordinate?”

Celene ’oh-oh’ed twice before exclaiming: ”You really understand them; I always can’t figure out their style.”

This kind of talk is not sarcasm to Celene and Shaer, but merely stating facts.

”So in a moment, will we witness the extreme escape of these Goblins?” Celene asked with interest, ”It sounds quite amusing.”

Hill softly said: ”That depends on whether their families can reach the altar and summon Magnubiyeh before the Undead Tribe breaks the Defensive Shield.”

”Hmm?” Celene couldn’t help but speak the truth, ”At this moment, how could someone like Magnubiyeh sacrifice his Divine Power to save them?

His Divine Power network is just so small~”

Shaer rarely agreed with her sister: ”He can’t make a move; these dead Goblins seem well-trained, and his Divine Kingdom needs them; they can participate directly in his endless Hell wars.”

Hill silently nodded without saying more... But whether Magnubiyeh can still decide for himself is something no one can know now.

Actually, Hill also couldn’t ascertain exactly when Bane controlled the Goblin Chief God, even making him ’willing’ to become his Lesser God.

But it was indeed during the Magicplague period.

Magnubiyeh desperately needed warriors who could participate in a sacred war in Hell against the treacherous Beastmen souls, while Bane required living mainspring to help him gain earthly faith... Sending souls to Hell to play Soul War is simply seen as insane in the tyrant’s eyes.

Moreover, Bane definitely hoped for the complete abolition of the Goblin Chief God’s Divine Power network in Toril so that Magnubiyeh would not attempt to detach himself from him for at least the next millennium.

To stir trouble, Magnubiyeh first needs to find himself a sufficiently hidden Divine Power path.

But anyone with any intelligence would never think the Goblin Chief God could win against a Magnubiyeh who only knows brute force, dreams of annihilating the Dwarves and Gnomes, fights Beastmen in Soul Wars, and fantasizes about exterminating all life on the surface world, and a Bane who has trapped countless Deities both above and below.

Anyway, once the Magic Barrier is shattered, Hill will know whether these two entities are tangled together now.

He has that bit of patience.

The Undead Tribe spends most of its time in defense, and it’s rare to have a chance to attack a Defensive Shield, so they seem very excited... Mainly, they don’t need to aim at all.

Even those strong ones who couldn’t hit anything from one meter away now manage to perform effective attacks, which makes them very excited... Standing resolutely in front of the Defensive Shield, facing the endless spears and long guns of the Goblins within.

They even pushed the Defensive Knights holding shields behind them.

At this time, death was no longer sufficient to stop their dazzling display!

The helpless commanders could only let the Priests keep their distance to heal these guys...these folks rarely have the chance to act, always representing those with poorer skills, but paradoxically, with perfect equipment, and adorned with several Advanced Potion buffs.

Spells, when down by one ring, have a vast difference. Now, their damage has almost been increased by two rings, which is indeed quite useful in damaging the Defensive Shield.

Better try not to let them die!

”The thoughts of the Undead Tribe are sometimes really hard to understand,” Celene watched the battle scenes on the giant screen for a while, then couldn’t help but open her mouth again, ”Why do they take potions worth Twenty Thousand Gold to attack a Defensive Shield that is sure to be broken?”

”Hmm...” Hill was still summarizing the language in his mind, but Shaer quickly came up with an answer: ”It’s just like when you insisted on opening a tavern as a singing and dancing landlady, despite having absolutely no musical talents!

Didn’t you also spend a lot of money buying plenty of automatic singing and dancing Strange Objects from Lyril and Miliel?”
