Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1094: Chapter 887: The Return of Two Goddesses

Lynn couldn’t understand the mages’ way of thinking, and touched his younger brother’s forehead with a dissatisfied look: Even though the bard’s healing spells are just so-so, they can at least judge a person’s physical condition accurately.

Leonard softly said, ”Brother Lynn, my treatment is already quite good, at least I can choose my own tasks.

Moreover, as a member of the Tower of Nature, it’s only natural to complete spell research tasks.

Tell Lis, I can avoid this matter, but my future would be completely ruined... No mage, whether elf or of another race, would accept a coward who chooses to leave the Magic Tower because they don’t want to complete spell research.”

Lynn frowned and said, ”At the Mage Academy, even voluntarily researching can get your head blown up, and those aren’t even high-level spells!”

”For transcendent mages like us, everyone is required to hand over a usable eighth ring spell model. We all choose the simplest healing or growth-type spells, and it’s only after completing this research task that I’m qualified to travel outside.” Leonard revealed a sorrowful smile, ”The hardest part is for those mages who struggle to cross the boundary of transcendence. If they were really so familiar with the law, they wouldn’t be unable to step onto the transcendent path.”

”Do you know any elves who have turned into big trees?” asked Edna, who was knowledgeable about elf spells.

Leonard lightly nodded.

Lynn looked at his unlucky brother, then at Edna, gritting his teeth and suppressing the urge to curse... The reward for completing a life-threatening research task is to be involved in the path of destiny?

The Lady of the Forest at the Tower of Nature must be dreaming too beautifully!

Does she really think having Leonard means there’s no way to deal with the Yerlan People?

Dreaming of rebuilding Yerlan, dreaming of making Yerlan the ruler of the Supreme Forest... Dream on!

Lynn resolved to send a letter to the Star Mountain Range after returning... At the time of the elves’ great retreat, Aevraestar’s Sword, which steadfastly held its ground, is the elf power recognized by all residents of the Supreme Forest.

The Wood Elves think a mere Tower of Nature can stop the ruler of the fierce woods, former Netheril Arcanist Ulugris? Or can it stop the ferocious Demon-born Elves?

Even those mutated gnoll people digging tunnels everywhere in the Supreme Forest could make them run ragged!

Tulang’s Treant Court and the fairies on Lost Peak don’t have a good impression of them either, and they fundamentally don’t want to deal with these former deserters.

Only the captain of Aevraestar’s Sword, Dragos, turned a blind eye to the Wood Elves’ return as a favor to the friends who once fought demons together, allowing them a haven in Nodahal.

Back then, Mogwei was so grateful for the Sun Elves’ help! Always thanking the Father of Elves for his blessing.

Otherwise, wise Lis wouldn’t choose to send Leonard to the Tower of Nature. She probably thought even if the favor would soon be forgotten, at least the Wood Elves would maintain some respect for one or two hundred years.

However, the result turned out to be just that.

Looking at his brother with a melancholic face, Lynn suddenly wondered if his mom’s brain got kicked by Lally? It’s not like Leonard can’t go home, he can always see his parents every seven or eight years!

”Did you tell Lis’ mom and Daddy Alai when you left?” Lynn couldn’t help but ask his unlucky brother.

”No.” Leonard shook his head honestly, ”The teacher directly used the Magic Tower’s teleportation array to send us to Elvord, anyway, it’s not far from Silvermoon City, there are many fleets there that can reach Hidden Town, so I just came over directly.”

Edna looked at Lynn with sympathy... Having such an innocent and pure brother, Lynn really is pitiful!

Being so clearly sympathized with by an underage girl, what could Lynn do?

He could only pretend this troublesome little goddess doesn’t exist.

Of course Lynn understood that gratitude only helps to a certain extent; when it comes to interests related to Wood Elves, it’s natural to be forgotten. The Aevraestar’s Sword hasn’t completely perished yet! Is this how they bully the children sent to study?

Even though Leonard skated around the issue, Lynn still understood the implication in his words... The transcendent mages sent for studying were required to make contributions, but the Yerlan elf’s own transcendent students didn’t have this task.

Then Leonard risked turning into a tree in the end while completing the task, and was assigned a travel task of the highest danger for showing obvious intent to leave the Tower of Nature... This kid didn’t hide his dissatisfaction with the Magic Tower; his teacher wouldn’t let him off the hook.

Mogwei might dream beautifully, but if something really happens to Leonard, the only ones paying the price would be the Sun Elves... The Tower of Nature certainly wouldn’t make an effort to save him. In the graduation travels of the transcendent mages, they wouldn’t have the elves’ protection behind them.

But Leonard’s family and friends certainly wouldn’t give up on him.

But if Leonard successfully survives this turmoil, even if he doesn’t return to the Tower of Nature, it’s inevitable that his fate will be shared with the Magic Tower he was born from.

Lynn looked at the dozen or so managers from the Magic Cult and Black Rose who had arrived together, and smiled: ”Miss Edna, you’re familiar with the Teraxil Elves, so please introduce Leonard, and the rest is up to you to decide!”

Edna raised an eyebrow, understanding Lynn’s implication. It’s clear Leonard is a bit of an airhead, and in the future, Edna will be the one calling the shots between them.

Lynn looked at his foolish brother gently and said, ”You should follow Miss Edna.

The temperament of the Teraxil Elves is a bit unpredictable, so usually, it’s better to listen to Miss Edna. They’ve been together longer, and there won’t be any misunderstandings.”

Leonard may be less sensitive to certain things due to his years spent researching magic in the Magic Tower, but he can still understand the clear intention behind his brother’s words... After all, he listens to the suspicious teacher’s words, so of course he’d heed the words of his obviously concerned brother.

Hill couldn’t help but sigh softly, remembering the enthusiasm Lis and Alessio had when they talked about their youngest son, which turned out to be disappointing.

Hill could see Lynn’s dissatisfaction and could guess what he would do, but Hill didn’t think his friend would get a satisfactory answer... Everything Leonard encountered was part of the magical tower apprentice’s path, as long as the Lady of the Forest passed her legacy onto Leonard completely, she had every right to ask Lynn’s brother to do anything.

No matter how much scheming there was, it cannot condemn the other party.

But Hill also didn’t think Mogwei could achieve her desires, if it were that easy to be successfully schemed, the Tablets of Fate wouldn’t be hated by so many people, even deities.

Mogwei let her ambition cloud her mind; the Tablets of Fate were something even the Toril Gods avoided, and yet she willingly got involved... Does she really believe sending out a half-elf with Sun Elf bloodline would free her existence from fate’s eyes?

Even Celene wouldn’t have such naive thoughts.

No one knows what will eventually happen to the Tower of Nature.

A voice echoed ghostly, ”No matter what race one is born into, as long as they harbor desires beyond their capabilities, they will inevitably be drawn into the vortex, ultimately consumed by their desires.”

Hill turned and smiled, ”Good day, Lady of the Night.”

One can tell who’s more interested in midnight simply by how quickly they arrive... It hasn’t officially started, yet Shaer couldn’t resist her urge for a spectacle.

”Hello~ Hill,” Shaer’s mood appeared genuinely pleasant, and one could actually detect little waves in her usually flat tone.

Hill blinked.

Shaer’s exuberance, is it due to Midnight’s impending memory recovery, or... her friendly ties with William?

”Why are you so happy?” the moonlight from the pool followed closely, ”Lynn’s brother is so unlucky! Yet you’re so delighted!”

”What does it have to do with me?” Shaer asked puzzledly, ”What are you up to lately? Have you lost your mind completely? How else would you say something so foolish?

Why would I care about a half-elf? Especially a Coron follower?

And what’s with the way you’re speaking?”

Celene hesitated for a moment before saying, ”Oh~~ I’ve been watching the performances of the little fairies in Karin Forest, seems I’ve got lost in the act, hmm... the drama of the Undead Tribe is a bit brainwashing.”

Hill turned back in confusion for a glance... Since arriving at Karin Forest, the little fairies under Vila’s rule have been enjoying a splendid life of four seasonal celebrations a year, rehearsing for two months and performing for one month.

The Undead Tribe provided them with ample material for performances, with tens of thousands of fairies forming their own troupes, each with its own unique independent repertoire.

Over in Kalinsan, they’re fighting divine beasts fiercely in the desert... Eckart is up to something, even bringing along two remaining divine beasts to stand against Amanata.

Yet when the Fire God Beast and Air God Creature join forces, it’s like wind blowing on fire, leading to wildfires.

Sun God loyalists can’t leave Manshaka even within a 100 km radius, let alone reclaim Karin Harbor.

However, in the Magic Great Wall, Karin Forest continually indulges in light dances and songs, celebrating peace and prosperity.

Strangely, amidst this chaotic scene, Kalinsanians completely disregard it, using the chance while the divine beasts are preoccupied with clashing against Amanata believers in Manshaka to seize territory.

Hill isn’t surprised Celene’s attention has been on Kalinsan, but he didn’t expect that the Maiden of the Moon would truly spend her days watching drama constantly... and apparently preferring those with a touch of melodrama.

Shaer laughed coldly, ”No wonder you arrived later than me.”

Celene smiled indifferently, ”Hehe~ Isn’t it not yet started?”
