Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1059: Chapter 853: Poverty Wins Again

Hill looked at the light avenue that appeared on the giant screen leading straight to the Magic Great Wall, and revealed a disdainful smile. It seemed quite grand, but this road clearly could only last 30 days.

After all, to demonstrate the unrivaled power of the Sun God, this road placed more strength on expelling divine beasts… If it were Hill, he would probably strengthen the road’s defensive power to the extent that divine beasts couldn’t break it. After all, divine beasts only possess Fire and Qi element power, and coupled with strong might, targeted defenses wouldn’t require consuming such enormous power.

Kalinsan would belong under their Sun God Temple in the future, wouldn’t it? An eternal road in a nation centered on trade is critically important; Amanata and that cup surely understand.

However, they still chose to demonstrate Amanata’s strength by focusing more power on daunting the divine beasts… It’s just that for 30 days, they can’t approach this road.

Hill sneered slightly, perhaps that cup worries about the road being always open, that the Undead Tribe would go to Manshaka and vie for the people’s hearts with them?

Such short-sightedness.

Just like Amanata back in the day seeing the emergence of that Instant God… Maybe he just wanted to see the amusement of that Mystree who always showed disdain towards him!

In the end, they turned into everything, becoming part of the Weave themselves, and he himself was struck down from the Divine Kingdom.

You should know that at that time, the Solar God Sect was the state religion of the Naicer Empire… Most Arcanists believed in him.

Although Mystree did not regard Amanata highly, she did not choose to suppress the Arcanist. The first-generation Goddess of Magic inherited more of Celene’s tolerance, choosing to smile away many things.

If she were a bit more like Shaer, many troubles in Toril would not have occurred later… Too much freedom brings flourishing ambitions.

However, this move by Amanata’s Holy Grail can almost be considered as exhausting all his power… Though a little less than half of the strength was unused, in a time when the divine power of All Gods cannot penetrate Toril, the remaining power of this cup must be used to supply the Sun God Priests.

Just like the power of the Undead Tribe actually comes from the Temporal Artifact.

Hill somewhat suspects that the reason Amanata’s Holy Grail revived Amanata at this time is because it saw the emergence method of the Undead Tribe.

While the power provided by the Holy Grail to priests isn’t considered much, at a time when the priests of other temples can hardly use even 2-ring Divine Arts, the Sun God Priests are already the strongest kind god priests besides the Undead Tribe.

Of course, in truth, the Silvermoon Temple and the Temple of the Night God can still borrow the power of their Main God… But they clearly have been restricted.

Although neither of them are obedient little girls, Celene, just regained strong divine power due to AO’s favoritism, would somewhat keep a low profile for this few years.

And Shaer… Her way of action decides that AO can grasp her weakness, if AO insists on something, Shaer will only act in secrecy and won’t openly oppose.

Apart from these two, other deities even if dissatisfied with Amanata’s resurrection, they can do nothing before AO lifts the world’s blockade again.

Even Cyric is the same way… Until Mystra returns, he can only wait eagerly outside the Toril Planet.

But looking at that ethereal golden light avenue, and the three Otherworld God Servants flying from the avenue with white wings, breezy white long hair, and pale skin, Hill somewhat couldn’t help but laugh.

Amanata’s Holy Grail seems to want to leave an impression on the Undead Tribe that ‘the Sun God is very powerful’… But unless there are thousands of those Otherworld God Servants who look a bit like angels coming all at once, just these on sight, the Undead Tribe would only feel that Toril’s Sun God is too mean.

At least not even comparable to Coron’s toe… His god attendants appeared before the Undead Tribe with over a hundred winged Elf subordinates.

Therefore, even though the Otherworld God Servants were sounding ethereal and carrying a serious attitude, the Undead Tribe felt nothing… Their every expression was written with ‘just this?’

Frankly speaking, it’s like when you watch some television shows, it sounds like they are fighting a grand war involving millions, but what actually appears are just some main and side characters brawling and a dozen extras rolling in the background.

Angels are just like those protagonists, seeing too many of them doesn’t feel unusual anymore.

The Undead Tribe, after asking Vila’s opinion, let these three winged ones go to the Refugee Town themselves to collect people.

Including those Kalinsanian nobles in the refugee camp, the Undead Tribe quite gladly asked them if they wished to go with the god attendants to Manshaka.

The nobles, of course, chose to leave.

However, the Kalinsanian commoners who had been complaining about the troublesome rules in Mil Forest hesitated somewhat.

Once they leave the carefree Little Fairy camp, they would return to a life of hard work and uncertain fullness.

But staying in the forest only means being able to eat their fill… What if going to Manshaka offers them a chance for a status upgrade?

This isn’t impossible.

Toril people, who understand the modus operandi of the Toril Gods, know what it means for a deity to specially make a way to take people.

Manshaka needs their integration, and the Sun God Temple needs more believers.

This is also their only chance… For the commoners who grew up in the strict hierarchy of Kalinsan, none of them do not want to become nobles.

After hesitating for a few hours, most of the commoners still followed the nobles, stepping onto that golden avenue.

Only a part of the Professionals with families from Kalinsan stayed behind… for those who are willing to bring their families during a frantic escape, the Undead Tribe has always been quite nice to them.

The few Harpists managing the town initially had very unpleasant expressions… They were unhappy, not because the people they managed all left, but because of the indifference shown by those people towards their saviors.

But after seeing who stayed, their expressions improved a lot.

Who wouldn’t want their neighbor to be a good person?

The Undead Tribe was actually quite happy about the departure of these Kalinsanians… the Earth Mage even built a stone staircase on the inner side of the wall along that path, to help these people walk faster.

But Hill discovered that besides some women of noble birth choosing to leave, other female Professionals didn’t even show their faces.

However, thinking about it, it’s not surprising.

Though it seems like the Undead Tribe did nothing, they actually did everything… In a normal Kalinsan Territory, there would definitely not be a publicly seen Harpist become a Mayor.

Although Harpists have many small flaws, they are fair in their dealings, at least they won’t just decide someone is right because they are men.

Hill has some understanding of countries like Kalinsan… After all, he once built a desert road in the Middle East.

It’s a place where the negative aspects of ‘chauvinism’ cannot even begin to describe it.

The loudspeakers saying ‘Don’t meddle with internal affairs’, ‘Don’t have ideological conflicts with the locals’ were almost always echoing at their construction site… Technical personnel like Hill only needed to stay at the base and only appeared when certain geological issues arose, but ordinary construction workers had to go out every day.

The fact that such shouting exists actually proves how terrible the place is… Chinese people love to protect themselves above all, and workers like these sent out for national aid are managed very strictly.

Kalinsan can only be worse… since these men are not just physically strong, they are more powerful than that.

Unlike other places on the Ferun Great Land, Kalinsan women have very few paths to become Professionals, another similar country is Anmur.

It’s no wonder that Shaer’s Temple of the Night God can flourish in Kalinsan and Anmur, closely tied with these two countries producing the most women who want to destroy the entire world.

Hill continuously watched the giant screen, wanting to know if Vila would do something… but the Little Fairy only touched the small bag at her waist with a melancholy expression, sitting on the King’s Platform in hesitation.

The ‘Young Master’, who was discussing with Little Fairies who are skilled in playing instruments about how to modify some musical instruments, finally noticed Vila’s peculiarity. He rarely recalled his identity… the liaison officer placed beside the Little Fairy Queen by the Undead Tribe, approached with a face full of fake concern.

“Is there something troubling the beautiful queen?” he said with a slightly exaggerated tone while smiling, “Can’t you tell your friends? I thought we had no secrets between us?”

Facing such an oily ‘Young Master’, even his secretary, who always kept a calm face, couldn’t help but twist his expression.

However, Vila was very receptive to this, she said in an ethereal voice: “In theory, facing Amanata’s believers who also fight against Divine Beasts, I should help them a bit… after all, they are the main force against the Divine Beasts.

But…”

She touched her small bag again, then tapped it with a full face of distress: “Money is a serious problem!”

The ‘Young Master’ was just about to speak when he was kicked hard by his anxious secretary behind him.

He staggered a bit, but finally realized something might be wrong, so he said with a confused face: “But hasn’t Amanata not asked us for help?

And I remember that Sun God likes gold the most, right? How could his followers lack money?”

Vila replied as if realization struck: “Oh? You’re right! A single window of the Temple of Amanata is worth more than all my possessions! I really overthought it…

Hmm… Tell your commander that if Amanata’s people ask for help, it’s best to lend some, I have some past friendship with them.”

The ‘Young Master’ nodded: “No problem.”

Hill couldn’t help but laugh… Amanata’s followers certainly don’t lack money, but they lack food!

The Undead Tribe must have realized this during the exchanges with the Kalinsanians over this period.

I guess they have long decided to earn big from those gold-glittering Sun God Priests.

Though the ‘Young Master’ didn’t know what was happening, Rich Second Generations have a universal skill… using questions to divert topics they can’t immediately answer… seems like he learned well.
