Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1062: Chapter 856: Manshaka Enters War Mode

Hill had some trouble understanding the relationship between Shaer and Celene.

To say that they had completely put aside their past grievances, Hill definitely wouldn’t believe it.

When they converse, sometimes it’s quite calm, but Hill can keenly sense a hint of killing intent; when they really start fighting, it actually gives him a chill.

But to say that they still see each other as mortal enemies like before, that doesn’t seem to be the case... Even though Shaer hasn’t said anything, after their first meeting at Hill’s place, the harpist received an interesting message: The Temple of the Night God no longer requires the killing of a Silvermoon Priestess as a condition for promotion.

Otherwise, Celene wouldn’t have brought up the word ”sister” again.

She knows about this matter sooner than anyone else.

Whether Shaer is deciding to temporarily avoid Celene’s sharpness due to her return to strong Divine Power, or she has some other schemes, at least her attitude ensures that during this period, the two sisters won’t directly engage in a life-and-death battle upon meeting each other.

Hill couldn’t quite foresee where these two might head in the future, so he could only make sure to be cautious when he speaks and acts, which is also why he didn’t let Lynn and Fran come to the Floating Castle.

Otherwise, at this time, the Floating Castle is truly a good place for Mages... The Primordial Power is very dense, and Hill can feel his Mana slowly rising as he sits inside.

Even the sleeping Oberon gained quite a few benefits; at least now he wouldn’t directly bow before the Queen of Titania.

Perhaps because Celene dispersed an avatar in the Floating Castle more than Shaldo, the Primordial Power within Hill Castle has a brighter edge.

”Something is not right!” Celene watched the screen and the laughing Undead Tribe returning to Mil Forest, ”Are the Divine Beasts allowing them to pass freely? This method of banishment should be considered a humiliation for them, right?”

Hill silently nodded, understanding that the banishment of Elemental Creatures could easily provoke their rebellion: Once a Banishment Spell fails, it faces a frenzied Elemental Giant.

Then they quickly realized why, as the Undead Tribe cruising on the Golden Light Avenue stared dumbfounded at the two towering Divine Beasts rushing from the northeast... Karin and Mannan abandoned their mad battle in Karin Desert and came together to Manshaka.

The enormous Air Divine Beast Karin glanced at the walls formed by Golden Light looming over the Golden Light Avenue, looked at the group of Elves watching them, with a fierce gaze, almost stepping forward... However, hearing something unknown, he followed behind the irritable Fire God Beast Mannan to Manshaka.

”Eckart.” Shaer said with a light tone, ”It seems it’s truly their doing, to be able to make Karin and Mannan join forces.”

Hill nearly popped his eyes out upon seeing the small figure atop a tall Fire God Beast, behind Karin and Mannan—a tiny point so small: Eckart himself was only about as tall as a Human child, sitting atop a Divine Beast over 30 meters tall, barely distinguishable from a dark mosquito.

”What does Eckart ultimately want?” Celene asked perplexed, ”He doesn’t need Human belief, and he likely doesn’t regard the converted Human magicians.

Is the land of Kalinsan worth directly opposing Amanata?

Even if he doesn’t know Amanata’s true strength, at least he should know the Sun God possesses strong Divine Power.”

”It’s not him taking action.

Karin and Mannan dared to swing fists at AO back then, what is the Sun God to them?

Eckart probably wants Karin and Mannan’s battle to have a swift conclusion.” Shaer was not surprised, ”His ideal result is for Kalinsan to forever belong to the Divine Beasts, because judging by Karin and Mannan’s indifferent attitude, they might end up handing Kalinsan over to Eckart.

For Eckart, who possesses the Divine Kingdom, even a few Demigod Beasts who’ve shed their Human skin has some usefulness.

But if it doesn’t work out, to him, it makes no difference; after all, he desires everything greedily but wouldn’t fight desperately over it.

As for Humans dying, how many die is of no concern to him.

But if these Human deaths can allow Karin and Mannan to vent years of resentment, returning to the Elemental Realm, it would be favorable for Eckart, who has been continually assassinated and can hardly step out of his Divine Kingdom.”

Celene pondered for a while before bursting into laughter, ”So after testing the fighting strength on both the Undead Tribe and Amanata sides, Eckart concluded he couldn’t retain Kalinsan and chose the next best option?

Then in Mil Forest and Manshaka, chose to deal with Amanata’s side? Just after a miracle was performed at the Temple of Amanata in Manshaka?”

”How could such a sinister and cunning guy like Eckart not guess that miracle couldn’t have been released by Amanata himself?” Shaer’s tone was calm yet couldn’t hide a tinge of schadenfreude, ”The numbers of the Undead Tribe are too high, and given how long it’s been, who on Toril wouldn’t know they can resurrect?

Karin and Mannan are both impatient and easily angered; if the battle drags on too long, it’s possible they might start fighting each other with a single disagreement.

Eckart needs them to willingly return to the Elemental Realm... Otherwise, they could always come back to Kalinsan to resume fighting. After all, the numerous Dukes and Princes on the Fire Element Plane and Plane of Air Elements wouldn’t allow them to fight on their territory.

The connection between the land of Kalinsan and those two Elemental Giants is too deep; even if Amanata wins in the end, it would take thousands of years to sever their ties.”

”Why did you originally choose Kalinsan then?” Celene suddenly had an epiphany, ”Did you think it would explode sooner or later?”

Shaer paused for a few seconds before saying: ”What foolishness are you up to?

Where wouldn’t Toril explode?

It’s just that here in Kalinsan, there are the most people who want the world to be destroyed and are willing to work towards that, every year.

Only here will the Temple of the Night God truly find its followers, rather than fools who just want to kill their rivals.”

Celene disdainfully dragged out an ’oh’, which sounded like she was a bit unhappy with her misjudgment.

”Just stop thinking.” Shaer concluded, ”Every time you start thinking, it either makes me furious or makes me laugh to death.”

Celene angrily said: ”You’re the one who told me to think more! Everything’s your fault!”

Shaer scoffed: ”Have you ever actually used it when I needed you to? You might as well not use your brain at all, at least then I could comfort myself that you truly have none.”

Hill could only focus his attention on the giant screen.

Discovering the Undead Tribe quickly calling allies to appear on that golden avenue as Manshaka was about to enter a state of war... The Cup of Amannata had painstakingly built this road, seemingly just to provide the Undead Tribe with the best viewing location.

Fortunately, a large portion of people were willing to stay in their camp to watch the giant screen... After all, the Undead Tribe that walked on that golden avenue would receive a warning from the Temporal Artifact: This is a combat zone, with a constant risk of being attacked or even bombed, enter at your own peril.

William had given the warning, but whether the Undead Tribe listened or not... From the nearly crowded road, you could tell how many people thought excitement was more important than experience.

The fiery Mannan rushed ahead, looking a bit displeased at the golden avenue beside him... Manshaka, located at the cape and surrounded by sea on three sides, meant that the tall Elemental Prince had to approach this uncomfortable path if he wanted to attack.

Mannan pulled back the fist he was preparing to smash against Manshaka’s Magic Defense Shield and first swung it towards that bothersome road.

Amidst the cries of the Undead Tribe, the section of the light wall connected to the city wall vibrated intensely, prompting the Undead Tribe at the very front to retreat... Fortunately, they were all standing on either side of the road, leaving a small path in the middle where four people could walk side by side.

But Amanata, after all, possessed mighty Divine Power, and the road remained quite stable.

Some of the Undead Tribe abandoned their luck and turned back to Mil Forest to watch the giant screen, but most remained rooted wanting to watch the live scene.

Mannan raised his massive fist, glanced down at the road that, although heavily fluctuating, remained rather resilient, and seemed curious, starting to smash one palm after another towards the golden avenue.

Amanata’s Holy Grail wouldn’t maintain this already useless road in his eyes; he even wished Mannan’s attention would always remain on this road!

After all, the Air Divine Beast Karin wasn’t distracted, and was wildly attacking Manshaka.

The golden light shield flickering above Manshaka didn’t look much better than the one on the road; Hill could even hear the cries from within the city.

”Ah... That cup is up to mischief.” Celene’s attention was also drawn.

”Isn’t this Amanata’s usual way of doing things?” Shaer also gave up bickering with her sister, saying disdainfully, ”First create enough danger, then emphatically intervene amidst the frantic prayers of his followers.

That’s how he wins over those loyal followers, isn’t it? This is the kingdom they struggled to build together with deities!

Compared to Tyr, who only knows how to protect civilians, Amanata’s style is more likely to attract mindless followers, after all, every success of a deity bears the effort of their believers!”

Sun God, Sun God, born with mighty Divine Power from the first day!

What does that have to do with those humans who can barely live for decades? Can they nurture any?”

Hearing this, Hill helplessly chuckled, why does this style seem so familiar?

Could it be that there’s nothing new under the sun?

Celene wasn’t bothered by her sister’s words; to them, followers have never been something to be revered... Amanata’s approach is one only taken by deities who lack power.

She was just vehemently cheering for Karin: ”Keep it up, big guy! Come on, one more punch! Harder! Smash that city wall! What is Mannan doing? Still not turning around to smash the city wall?

Are you really waiting for Amanata’s resurrection?”
