Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1056: Chapter 850: What Does Shaer Want?

Ivar Gremms, although well-intentioned, thought too much.

Neither the Undead Tribe nor the Little Fairies actually care about whatever tricks the Kalinsanians are up to.

Firstly, it is the Undead Tribe that is sheltering these refugees… If it were Vila, she might at most leave a piece of land for them to stay on; she would not care about the survival of humans.

To the Little Fairies, they naturally carry a bit of hostility towards races that can destroy nature.

Even if they, due to their nature of not easily harming others… and of course, more likely due to their impotence… they would not actively become enemies with humans, but neither would they show much goodwill.

As for the Undead Tribe, they are simply used to it… since Teraxil, William has trained them with a rudimentary but functional refugee handling plan, and after experiencing several worlds, the Undead Tribe has basically become skilled at it.

So if the Kalinsanians believe the Undead Tribe will, like the Righteous Knights, refrain from acting against non-Evil Faction civilians due to the lowest level of goodwill and so-called beliefs, they will probably be very disappointed.

In Toril, civilian protests against the government definitely don’t count as evil, but in William’s judgment, actions driven by personal greed that impact the army can basically be deemed rebellion. Once looting and destruction occur, that is truly evil.

William is very strict in his definition of rebellion, but once it is confirmed, those involved are bound to be marked as hostile by the Undead Tribe.

Even if they are not made hostile, expelling them from the camp to fend for themselves is quite normal.

Therefore, the efforts of the Harpists only save the lives of the Kalinsanians… To the Undead Tribe, whatever these people choose to do is an inconsequential matter.

Currently, for the Undead Tribe, the most crucial issue is that they can’t just guard The Great Wall waiting for the beasts to come… the real question is, why aren’t these beasts coming?

Although “Snow Cloud Peak” constantly says that the Divine Beasts have only temporarily retreated and will launch a full-scale attack once they realize even more refugees won’t affect their lives… the key point is that all the spies sent by the Divine Beasts have already been exposed!

When they executed those human traitors, why didn’t they think of playing the game of double agents?

Now there’s not a single piece of information from the Divine Beasts… those big heads don’t seem to work well, would they really wait for someone to report back before attacking?

Look at their anxiously waiting eyes… those lovable experience packs and moneybags, why aren’t they coming yet?

The Undead Tribe is anxiously waiting, but the Little Fairies are very happy.

They don’t care whether the Divine Beasts come or not, it would be better if they don’t… In any case, Vila has already paid the monthly protection fee, only building a wall requires additional payment.

Vila and the Little Fairies resonate with the big trees of Mil Forest every day, not sure whether it’s because this forest’s subconscious strongly dislikes the Kalinsanians… Although as the only forest in Kalinsan, Mil Forest provides a significant source of survival for humans… the Little Fairies’ attitude towards the Kalinsanians has become particularly bad.

When helping the plants grow, they deliberately bypass the area settled by the Kalinsanians… Kalinsanians don’t dare to stray too far from Refugee Town and thus don’t dare to head to the other side of the oval-shaped clearing.

If they walked over, they would discover that those deemed as acceptable spies, despite being only dozens in number, have a small orchard, even plants that can be used as seasonings… the variety of plants is very rich.

Although it’s because they presented Vila with a nutritional supplement as an energy boost… a big bag of exquisite and beautiful gemstones, that Vila and the Little Fairies hastened the growth of this small orchard for them.

However, not all Kalinsanians came to Mil Forest empty-handed; there are quite a few wealthy individuals who bought and live in two-story houses… and many Nobles still couldn’t be released from the refugee camp!

Yet Vila completely refuses to take their money.

After discovering the Little Fairies’ disdain towards the Kalinsanians, the “Young Master” stopped the Undead Tribe from setting up a grocery store in Refugee Town.

So while the wealthy Kalinsanians grumbled and gnawed on coarse bread, they surely didn’t expect that they could have gotten better food, but unfortunately, the sins they committed in the past are now coming back to haunt them.

And due to such obvious hostility displayed by the Little Fairies towards the Kalinsanians, the Undead Tribe began to gradually bypass that town… Perhaps some Kalinsanians are innocent, but those who have better relations with the Little Fairies naturally choose to favor them.

“Did you understand the voice coming from that forest, Hill?” Celene suddenly asked, “With such deep natural favor surrounding you, even across this screen, you should sense why she loathes the Kalinsanians so much, right?”

Hill pondered for a moment before saying, “In Mil Forest, not only are there no Treants, but not even Tree Demons.”

And Mil Forest has stood in Kalinsan for tens of thousands of years; even if the surrounding growth conditions are poor and Treants do not appear, Tree Demons that arise from ancient trees should still exist… This forest was originally left by the Elves to aid Kalinsan, which had been decimated by the Divine Beasts, so the Force of Nature should be plentiful.

Although newly born Tree Demons are not highly intelligent, they are undoubtedly beautiful, and capturing them for a home can greatly enhance the garden’s growth… People often choose to turn them into personal slaves.

However, unless they are turned into emotionless puppets, Tree Demons will perish immediately upon capture.

As for why they can’t leave the big trees where they grew too far… all the big trees where tree demons have appeared in the Mil Forest have long been uprooted and taken away.

Celene quickly understood his implication: “Even if only some of the Kalinsanians did this, the subconscious of the forest cannot distinguish right from wrong, and can only place the guilt on all Kalinsanians.

No wonder the little fairies no longer pay attention to them.

No wonder most parts of the Ferun Great Land were not destroyed by the Primordial Power, only Kalinsan ended up with this result.

How interesting, on this planet, you can owe the deities, but you can never owe the Natural Consciousness… Her weeping can directly connect to the Tablets of Fate.”

Hill could only smile slightly… if this continues, Celene might tell him all the internal news of Toril, right?

He really didn’t want to know!

Celene spoke to herself: “So, even though you’ve done a lot on Toril, the Tablets of Fate haven’t even touched you… I don’t know if Shaer has seen it, anyway, I went to take a look, and it was hard for it to even record your Agleya.

After all, the residents there are still mainly elves… according to the negotiation results between Coron and AO, Agleya belongs to the elves, as long as you don’t walk into fate yourself, no one can do anything to you.”

She quickly sank into her own thoughts: “If Lansendel hadn’t deceived several great Elf Empires, causing the elves to decline from prosperity, Coron wouldn’t have directly gone to AO in anger.

Although for the elves, since then, controlling their own fate is a good thing for elves with principles like you, for those unsure in their hearts, it’s a disaster.

Just like the tragic result of the Eternity Island Royalty… there’s no way, the lines of fate are not in the starry sky of Toril, so unless they die, no one can find their whereabouts.

Freedom and security, which is more important?”

Hill glanced at the moonlight in the pool with confusion, he was a bit unclear, what was it that made Celene sigh so inexplicably… Of course having control of one’s own fate is most important!

Even if there’s a chance of encountering danger, it’s better than living like a puppet.

Moreover, as long as one knows to respect the law of survival, what is called safety can actually be maintained.

Within certain rules, achieving freedom, and the inevitability in every chance encounter in life is established by someone, any normal person knows how to choose.

Shaer’s voice floated out softly: “What are you planning to do? No one in the current Toril needs your kind reminders… even that Mystra is doing quite well?

Even if Cyric comes out, he wouldn’t seek her first. I didn’t tell him that much either… Could you stop meddling?”

Celene hesitated for a while before saying: “Then can you tell me what you’re seeking in Anmur?”

“Are you even going to meddle with Amanata’s affairs?” Shaer’s tone turned cold.

“Ah… no, it’s just that my curiosity keeps my mind jumping non-stop, I find it a bit too active, but my heart doesn’t want to stop it.” Celene sincerely replied, “The Undead Tribe hasn’t fought yet, I am a bit bored.”

Hill silently lowered his head, pulled out a new jug of wine from a pendant, and poured himself a glass… he thought after a few more days of drinking, he might try out how strong the Crystal Mystery really is.

Shaer was speechless for a long time… sometimes she really wishes she didn’t understand Celene so well, so she could think he was just talking nonsense… Who would directly hint to others that if their curiosity is not satisfied, they might do something about it!

The most important thing is that before this person takes action, they don’t even know if it’s your business that’s at stake!

Even with strong willpower, Shaer felt a shadow over her vision hearing these words… How has she coexisted nicely with this entity for hundreds of thousands of years?

Maybe in the end, the reason she was so furious to the point of self-destruction with Celene’s creation of the world was because she accumulated too much rage?

Shaer thought she must be beyond anger, as she felt nothing at this moment, and could even reply with a smile: “I heard someone saw a two-foot-long flat-shaped bronze staff with engravings and a fist-sized roughly cut Purple Cristal at the Twin Towers.

Don’t you think this thing looks much like the Fifth Secret Artifact of Imasca?”

“How would that thing affect the war situation here in Kalinsan?” Celene asked puzzledly, “It’s just a subartifact usable by a level 18 mage.”

“That’s a War Artifact.” Shaer replied coldly, “I told you, you wouldn’t understand.”
